Which foods do you like to eat the wrong way?

Lighthearted, in case anyone feels offended by the idea of there being a "right" way to eat certain things!

I like my pasta and rice to be cooked until properly soft, not al dente.

I also dislike meat cooked rare in most cases. Beef is ok, but any sort of game makes me heave when I cut into it and it's still bloody in the middle.

And cereal has to be dry - no milk. I can't bear good that was once crisp when it's gone all soggy and limp.

Cold custard from the tin, crackers without cheese, curry for breakfast (this is normal elsewhere though)

starfishmummy · 12/05/2020 16:10

Seaglass yes!! Growing up mum used to buy Morning coffee biscuits. Lovely dipped in ribena!! But rich tea will do as well!!

chocolate tea cakes. Press on them gently while to break the chocolate covering and then pick pieces off to eat. Then eat the marshmallow and finally the biscuit. Doesnt work with tunnocks.

I wondered if anyone did chocolate tea cakes the same as me! The biscuit is just the best biscuit ever. 😮

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 12/05/2020 16:28

Wagon Wheels must be prised apart so you can lick off the "marshmallow" (or whatever the hell it is), then you nibble the chocolate away from the edges, then you eat the two biscuits one by one.

Baked beans must be cooked (heated) in a saucepan and almost stewed to make them right.
My DH does a 30 second buzz in the microwave. Bleugh.

Strawberrycreamsundae · 12/05/2020 16:57

Cold baked beans out of the tin ( my dad eats them cold with salad cream)
Fried bread sprinkled with white or Demerara sugar
Sliced cucumber with vinegar and black pepper, on its own 😋
Pickled beetroot chopped up with grated cheese and mayonnaise
Never eat meat and fruit together (abomination!)
Apple slices or celery spread with peanut butter, always the crunchy variety never that claggy smooth stuff ☹️

@Clevs
I think you may of got the wrong idea about this thread, we are talking about the wrong way to eat things , you have just discribed the right way to eat a jaffa cake , any other way is very wrong Grin

PenguinsOnParade · 13/05/2020 04:10

Anyone like mars bars deep fried in batter?

Try a deep fried Crunchie. No safe way to eat it. It turns molten but solidifies on your teeth when you bite in. It's both horrific and amazing at the same time. Just don't sue me if you burn yourself on one as the risk is high. Grin

eaglejulesk · 13/05/2020 05:16

I like my pasta on the soft side too, and love raw mushrooms.
Pasta with ice cream or yoghurt is a nice treat when I want something sweet.
Cold custard and rice pudding (not together).
I too like my porridge on the cold and thick side.

itsme · 13/05/2020 07:47

I also eat my big mac layer by layer, dip biscuits in squash, pull apart tunnocks teacakes, separate jaffa cakes, demolish jars of gherkins amongst others. Including but not limited to eating pickled chillies straight out of the jar, eating the top of a custard cream then scraping the custard off with my teeth and then eating the other bit of biscuit, suck chocolate so it's nice and melty, eat the outer of a scotch egg then save the egg til last, peel pastry off a sausage roll then eat the sausage and lick the cream out of cakes then eat the outer.

I think I've found my people, my OH thinks I'm weird.

fitflopqueen · 13/05/2020 08:04

Dark chocolate digestive with mature cheddar but I don’t think that’s so weird..

mummabearfourbabybears · 13/05/2020 08:18

I can't stand biscuits dunked in tea, but chocolate digestives dunked in my yoghurt pot. Perfection!!

EngagedAgain · 13/05/2020 10:00

Penguins - I won't try it as I gave them up because too hard on my teeth anyway!

Bella - that's how I like my beans, but don't think to put them on in time, takes a good 20 min slow simmer.

thethoughtfox · 13/05/2020 10:02

Upside down toast. Butter straight on the tongue.

JessicaDay · 13/05/2020 10:28

Ice-cream stirred up til creamy to make a dip for tortilla chips or crisps.

ExhaustedGrinch · 13/05/2020 10:28

I love curry and cheese together, preferably in a nice fresh crusty baguette.

Keitepeheakoe · 13/05/2020 11:00

I prise the lid off pies, eat the insides then eat the pastry. I cut the rind off Brie or Camembert furtively as I hate the taste. I prefer plain steak and chips to frou frou oyster foams and calf heels.

Any particular flavour ice-cream?

JessicaDay · 13/05/2020 13:58

Usually vanilla with quite a spicy chip.

JessicaDay · 13/05/2020 13:59

Or dulce de Le he with a sea salt chip.

JessicaDay · 13/05/2020 13:59

Dulce de leche!
