Will you go out when lockdown is eased?

so say when coffee shops and restaurants are allowed to reopen, will you be going? I can’t see myself being comfortable going out to eat for quite some time

@Jeeperscreepers69 yeah we do have an immune system but don’t you realise this is a very serious pandemic! If we were all immune to covid we wouldn’t be in a pandemic!

Yep. Will be out like a fucking shot to do whatever I'm allowed to do as soon as I'm allowed to do it. I'm 99% we've all had Covid, and I love pubs and coffee shops and restaurants and having my hair cut and clothes shopping and holidays and cinemas and theatres and seeing family and friends. Even if I didn't think we've had it, I value my rich full life too much to give it up for an extremely unlikely chance of dying. And my children deserve to experience the world.

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 17:43

I'm staying in till 2027 as I believe that is when it will be safe. My work will happily pay me till then even though I won't step foot in the office cause you know Covid and all that. My mortgage company said I dont have to pay them as a gesture of goodwill cause you know Covid and all that. Just ashame no one will be allowed abroad anymore as I have been told that aeroplanes won't work soon cause you know Covid and all that

Yep. I will frequent coffee shops, visit people etc where allowed. Social distancing will be here for a long time.

And in fact I think I have a duty to do so. My dp has been made redundant. But I earn decently. So we are ok. I am also extremely privileged to be able to wfh. I only need to go out for food and then when I choose (within the guidelines). People who own and work in these places need people to go in to keep them afloat. Especially small independent ones.

Its really quite odd. So many people not caring what happens to others as long as they are alright. They can get everything they need so they are OK. Not thinking about people relying on others to actually use their place of work. Not minding that supermarmet workers are at risk, because they want their shopping. But anyone else wants something, they are the devil that doesnt care.

Of course I will remain SD. I will take precautions. But yes, I will support businesses and their staff, who also need an income.

Being able to stay at home is a privilege for many. And peolle would do well to remember that when they moans about cars on the roads, peolle walking past their house etc

I wonder how many people commenting on this thread will die from it. Because the likelihood is...some will.

Do you read all threads about driving and wonder how many posters will die in car accidents?

PurpleDaisies · 05/05/2020 17:48

I can’t wait to go out for a coffee. That’s what I’m missing most at the moment.

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 17:48

Yeah but we have to wait a while so there is no second surge

Xmasbaby11 · 05/05/2020 17:49

I certainly will be going out to permitted places. I have followed lockdown rules and am looking forward to gradually getting part of my life back.

The kids probably won’t be back in school this year

IncrediblySadToo · 05/05/2020 17:51

@FoolsAssassin thank you 🌷

@Jeeperscreepers69 you think by the time you were 51, you'd grow out if brung a goady fucker & an ignorant idiot. Seemingly not. 30,000 people in the UK have died. I explained to you that I have two underlying conditions (I actually have more, but 🤷🏻‍♀️) & you still think it's 'funny' to be nasty. Grow up

You too @coronaboard.

@Smilethoyourheartisbreaking oh come on. There’s like 2 months until summer holidays begin. Why on earth would they be back?

Plus it’s too risky. Then they’ll wonder why all the kids become ill

SomewhereEast · 05/05/2020 17:53

I love the "How many people commenting on this thread will die!!!" nonsense. As a healthy thirtysomething I literally have more chance of being hit by a car than dying of Covid (funnily enough I nearly was hit by a dangerously speeding car crossing the road two minutes from my house not so long ago - guessing I should never cross a road again?)

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 17:54

Yes @IncrediblySadToo I found @Jeeperscreepers69 to be very patronising and rude. Clearly doesn’t take this situation despite the fact thousands have died from it

OP posts:
Coronabored · 05/05/2020 17:54

Not a troll just not a dementor. Life has to and will go on wether you like it or not. I hope a lot of you do stay indoors as I hate queuing at the best of times

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 17:55

@Coronabored I’m sure nobody really plans to be indoors for the rest of their lives. It’s too soon to lift lockdown measures. That’s my point.

Go ahead and lift them, watch a second and more deadly surge come

OP posts:
aSofaNearYou · 05/05/2020 17:56

I'll be seeing my family and going to outdoor places I imagine, but I'll be avoiding indoor venues for a long time.

Ilets · 05/05/2020 17:57

There's going to be a second surge regardless, that's pretty much guaranteed. So you could spend some time now getting used to that as a concept. It might make it easier later on. We never locked down to stop a second wave

92% of the people who have died are over 60.

As a healthy 29 year old, I do not believe my life is particularly at risk from this virus. There's a very small chance, yes, but it's a small enough chance that I won't think twice about carrying on as normal when I'm allowed to.

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 18:00

You state the second wave as fact. The first wave we were not prepared for so of course it will be worse. Most work places will have social distancing in place and people will be aware. You accuse us of being trolls, but any ray of hope someone offers is always shouted down in a "do you want to kill people" way.

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 18:00

Just tread carefully that’s all. Not saying nobody should be going out
