I didn't realise she was due already. Baby boy born this morning!

He shouldn't be back at work if he isn't able to fulfill all of the duties of a Prime Minister in a national crisis. Let someone else do it and stay at one of the retreats again.

Sunlighthouse · 29/04/2020 10:36

Wasn’t paternity leave one of the pieces of legislation introduced by the European Union?

Nope.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 10:36

Well she will make history as the first unmarried mother in 10 Downing Street won't she?

Sorry are we in the 1950s?

thenightsky · 29/04/2020 10:37

I’m laughing at the ‘he’ll need to juggle work and baby’, a man who has a string of kids he doesn’t bother with including a 10 yr old daughter he’s never met.

I'm sure they'll find the funds to buy in help.

Susiesoap7 · 29/04/2020 10:37

What another one? Am I bovvered!!
More worried about its hair!

thebabessavedme · 29/04/2020 10:37

I think because of his position/job and the ongoing crisis he is not really in a position to take any sort of meaningful leave right now, however, I do hope that Carrie has some sort of support, she has clearly gone through a rough time and as a human being I wish her and her baby well.

dont forget, there are whole boards on here that wouldnt exesit if we were all perfect judges of who to father our children.

LivingOnAnIsland · 29/04/2020 10:37

humina

Where did you get your medical qualification? You obviously know far more than the doctors and nurses that looked after him in ICU.

HairyFloppins · 29/04/2020 10:37

Crikey what vile people there are in the world.

Hope mum and baby are ok.

maddy68 · 29/04/2020 10:37

Boris's wife will be devestated she lost her mum to cancer this week too

ChandlerIsTheBestFriend · 29/04/2020 10:38

The PM will be a busy man!

Lol. No.

SoupDragon · 29/04/2020 10:38

I can't believe some people are behaving like utter wankers on a thread like this. Twats.

Humina · 29/04/2020 10:38

He's been a well documented liar and shirker for decades. It's far more crazy to me and 'tin foil' that you believe a single word the man and his crew of liars say.

Womenwotlunch · 29/04/2020 10:38

I can’t believe that he has a ten year old that he hasn’t seen. Absolute disgrace

Helmetbymidnight · 29/04/2020 10:38

a baby is a blessing and i feel sorry for carrie she's a young woman and had to shag that fat middle old liar while he was married to a woman with a cancer and has all these other children he wont admit to. it cant be easy.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 29/04/2020 10:39

The first unmarried mother in 10 Downing Street won't she? - Sorry are we in the 1950s?

We are not even in 2015 when Ed Miliband and partner were crucified for not being married in the Tory tabs.

ducksback · 29/04/2020 10:39

A thread full of fucking horrors. Sickening.

notchickenagain · 29/04/2020 10:39

Congrats Carrie. Hopefully they won't release the name of the hospital until she's home. Can't imagine all the press social distancing outside!

PineappleDanish · 29/04/2020 10:39

Congratulations to them both, what lovely news!

I would have said early summer was late may/early june but the statement was deliberately vague I think.

LockedInMadness · 29/04/2020 10:39

Crikey what vile people there are in the world

Think it's just on here actually. No wonder posters have gone to that other site. It really is spiteful on here sometimes Hmm

jasjas1973 · 29/04/2020 10:40

Yes but Carrie is a woman who has just had a baby when her partner nearly died, can you not put aside your bitterness and be a tiny bit happy for her

Bitterness lol! We are in a national emergency, the likes we haven't had for over 100 years, 1000s of families have lost loved ones.

1forsorrow · 29/04/2020 10:40

Surely they would get a maternity nurse in usual circumstances, I think people in those type of circles normally do don't they? But not sure if it's allowed in the current climate. Well he shouldn't have moved to Chequers after being discharged from hospital and going to Downing St, Carrie shouldn't have left her London flat and moved to Chequers so I don't think they will let any silly rules stop them moving a maternity nurse in if that is what they want.

Do what we say not what we do.

Helmetbymidnight · 29/04/2020 10:40

ChipsyChopsy · 29/04/2020 10:42

I think Carrie and Boris bringing a baby back to Downing Street with a picture call on the steps will be a lovely distraction from the relentless horror of this pandemic. But worried it might be seen as inappropriate. I wouldn't like to be responsible for the PR around this.

But it's lovely news. And I look forward to hearing the name. Good luck to them both. What a horrendous time they have had.

Shockers · 29/04/2020 10:42

@Fallsballs- my first thought too.

My second thought was for Mary Agyapong’s family. I’ll save all my , ‘what a tough time they’re having’ for them Sad.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 10:42

I can't believe anyone on this site of all sites can be thrilled for Boris given how he's treated his 10 year old

I'm not thrilled for him. I do think it's important that he takes paternity leave; the more senior people in the public eye who do so the more normalised it becomes. You would think mumsnet would be full of posters wanting fathers to be routinely present for and actively involved in their children's lives.
