I didn't realise she was due already. Baby boy born this morning!

@HMSSophie that made me laugh! He is indeed a lazy fucker. And a liar to boot.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 10:13

D'you think Carrie has been on the baby name threads recently?

ChristmasCarcass · 29/04/2020 10:14

Entirely possible they fudged the dates to avoid Kate&Will style “where’s the baby” headlines.

JKScot4 · 29/04/2020 10:14

I’m laughing at the ‘he’ll need to juggle work and baby’, a man who has a string of kids he doesn’t bother with including a 10 yr old daughter he’s never met.

mamansnet · 29/04/2020 10:14

Not a huge fan of theirs but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Giving birth to your first child is overwhelming in normal times. Doing it a fortnight after your partner nearly died and has only been back 2 days, up to his eyeballs with a global crisis and you've still got all the health risks still flying around? Wow. Good luck to Carrie.

Peppafrig · 29/04/2020 10:16

Exactly if he didn't have a 10 year old who he hasn't met I would almost feel sorry that he wasn't going to be able to take his paternity yet. But no what type of man must he be.

sanealaddin · 29/04/2020 10:16

Looking at pictures of her in March it's hard to imagine that the baby hasn't been been born early. She's had a very stressful few weeks, and it must be a very anxious experience for any woman giving birth at the moment, especially to a first baby. I wish them all well. New life is always a joy.

ajandjjmum · 29/04/2020 10:16

He'll take paternity leave. God what an absentee PM he's been.

Is there an actual human being behind this comment?

Cremebrule · 29/04/2020 10:17

I’m hoping they fudged they due date and haven’t had complications. Whatever you think of Boris, they have had a hell of a month and Carrie must have been very stressed. I can’t imagine anything has been easy for her. I hope Boris does get some time off. Yes he’s the PM but he’s only human and has just been on one hell of an emotional rollercoaster.

LockedInMadness · 29/04/2020 10:17

Carrie must've been so stressed no wonder it's come early.

Congratulations to them both 🥂

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 29/04/2020 10:19

I don't think he's a paternity leave kinda guy tbh.
What a time they've had though. If they've got any sense the powers that be will persuade Johnson to take period of proper rest to recover physically and psychologically from the huge life events he's been through in the past six months.

MarshaBradyo · 29/04/2020 10:20

Ah baby boy. Nice news

FFSFFSFFS · 29/04/2020 10:20

Well certainly by his track record he'll be a great Dad....

lljkk · 29/04/2020 10:20

Winston?

More likely Hugo, Maximus, Luca or Nigel, I suspect. Any boy choice from here.

DS's name is in there, though, hope it's not his.

SomethingOnce · 29/04/2020 10:21

Is there an actual human being behind this comment?

I know, right?!

CallmeAngelina · 29/04/2020 10:22

God what an absentee PM he's been.
Hmm Yeah, lazy bastard, lounging around in hospital, wasting the doctors' time. He should have been reading his briefs and holding press conferences from his ICU bed.

Fallsballs · 29/04/2020 10:23

Boris Johnson procreating (yet again) is nothing to celebrate. I’m sure his many other kids are eye rolling.

cookingmywaythroughlockdown · 29/04/2020 10:25

I think it's pretty clear baby is early but it sounds like they are ok. I feel for her as this is not the ideal time to have a baby. She doesn't have the ideal man either but that is her choice.

Anyway welcome to little Corona Captain Thomas Moore Witty

DarrellMakepeace · 29/04/2020 10:25

@TokyoSushi do you imagine that he will lift a finger to help with the baby?
Why would he change the habits of a lifetime now?

lonelyplanetmum · 29/04/2020 10:25

It was sooo obvious from the fudged way they worded the announcement of "early summer" that it would be around April/May.

They Just didn't want to admit they conceived it just after moving into Downing Street and kept it quiet throughout the December 2019 election.

Fallsballs · 29/04/2020 10:26

Do remember folks, Johnson isn’t some naive father, he’s going to milk this for PR along with the rescue dog.

Thesearmsofmine · 29/04/2020 10:27

I hope mum and baby are doing well.
I actually laughed at the idea that Boris would be dealing with sleepless nights and nappies. Are maternity nurses considered an essential worker?

TokyoSushi · 29/04/2020 10:27

@DarrellMakepeace I'd like to think so, but I suppose none of us will ever really know!

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 10:27

I can't believe on this site of all sites we have people thinking he shouldn't take paternity leave Shock

Mikki2019 · 29/04/2020 10:28

@HMSSophie harsh
