Three adults in the house - how much milk per week?

We seem to be going through an average of 20 pints a week, pretty much all in tea/coffee (porridge or pancakes on a Sunday morning maybe). That doesn't even include all the milk dd & I drink as we're both working out of the house around 3 days a week (key workers).

Never counted before as I don't usually shop weekly, but I'm now wondering how much tea per day is too much!

wow we get through 4 and I thought that was bad

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 28/04/2020 21:28

2 adults, 2 kids... 4-6 pints a week, us DH takes an extra 2 pints to work. So about 7 pints a week total.

SaltedCaramels · 28/04/2020 21:28

Wow - we get through 6 a week with 3 adults. But use almond milk in porridge and one person has mainly herbal tea, so no milk. I also had no clue until the lockdown. We now have a milkman delivery Grin

CarlottaValdez · 28/04/2020 21:29

2 adults one child we get through about 6 pints. DS and DH have porridge every morning and I drink tea all day. 20 sounds crazy, do you have your drinks very milky?

CoffeeBeansGalore · 28/04/2020 21:30

3 adults, 1 teen, approx 40 pints per week.

dementedpixie · 28/04/2020 21:30

2L per week between 4 of us. Dh doesn't use milk, I only have it in tea and ds has it in cereal. None of us have it as a drink

aerosocks · 28/04/2020 21:32

4 adults and we get through a 4-pinter about every 3 days.

DailyKegelReminder · 28/04/2020 21:34

Roughly the same. 2 adults, teen and toddler DD.

Etinox · 28/04/2020 21:35

4 adults. One vegan, one lactointolerant so we don’t keep it in. I’ll very occasionally buy a 4pint for sauces or a pudding and enjoy it in coffee while it’s in the house, but generally it’s great having no essentials that we can’t do without.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 28/04/2020 21:35

20 pints! None of you are getting osteoporosis. 2adults 2 kids here and we go through about 9 pints

Mixingitall · 28/04/2020 21:35

20 pints here between 2 adults and 2 children!

Tea, coffee, and the ds’s have cereal for breakfast.

ittooshallpass · 28/04/2020 21:36

We get through about 16 a week. Just me and DD. It's all skimmed and better than drinking fizzy drinks Smile

jomaIone · 28/04/2020 21:37

40 PINTS a week? 400 cups of tea a week?? Wtf that's ludicrous.

ScarfLadysBag · 28/04/2020 21:39

We get through about 4-5 pints of whole milk for toddler DD and 3 pints of semi-skimmed for me and DH.

fitflopqueen · 28/04/2020 21:40

3 adults, 16 pints here, mostly husband and adult son, they have porridge/cereals every day and milky coffees. we all love rice pudding though.

Gingerkittykat · 28/04/2020 21:41

A pint of milk each per day doesn't sound excessive to me. I have around the same, the vast majority in milky coffee but sometimes in cereals, sauces or other cooking.

BeetrootRocks · 28/04/2020 21:41

As much as milk as the 3 adults want it need, is the answer.

IckleWicklePumperNickle · 28/04/2020 21:42

Before lockdown 15 pints from the milkman. Up to 20 pints now.

BeetrootRocks · 28/04/2020 21:42

My parents got milkman to bring 4 pints a day and 8 on sat.

There were 4 of us.

moobar · 28/04/2020 21:42

Two adults 16 pints.

TwoBlueFish · 28/04/2020 21:42

6 pints between 2 adults, 1 have cereal most mornings, DH drinks a glass of milk a day and the rest is in tea and coffee. Teen kids don’t drink milk at all and don’t drink hot drinks.

CarolineIngalls · 28/04/2020 21:43
  1. Two adults and three kids. Mostly cereal.
vanillandhoney · 28/04/2020 21:44

Two adults here and we get through 4 pints a week.

SirVixofVixHall · 28/04/2020 21:44

We get a pint a day. Two adults and two children (12 and 15), but only I drink coffee and tea. Dh and the dc often have porridge or pancakes.
