Three adults in the house - how much milk per week?

We seem to be going through an average of 20 pints a week, pretty much all in tea/coffee (porridge or pancakes on a Sunday morning maybe). That doesn't even include all the milk dd & I drink as we're both working out of the house around 3 days a week (key workers).

Never counted before as I don't usually shop weekly, but I'm now wondering how much tea per day is too much!

Two of us and at most 4 pints a week.

SciFiScream · 28/04/2020 22:29

Family of 4. We get through 14 pints a week. Sometimes 12, sometimes 16 so it balances out.
Breakfast, tea, cooking, hot chocolate. Sometimes as a cold drink. One family member doesn't have much milk at all.

CorianderLord · 28/04/2020 22:30

We don't drink it so none

okiedokieme · 28/04/2020 22:30

2 adults, 2 litres a fortnight, admittedly I don't eat cereal, if I make lasagna it runs out quicker. We both are wfh

itbemay1 · 28/04/2020 22:31

3 adults and 1 teen on average 4 pints a day

magimedi · 28/04/2020 22:34

2 adults - a pint a week. Not much tea or coffee drunk here.

But a fuck tonne of yogurt & kefir!!!

Murinae · 28/04/2020 22:34

Four adults and I need about 5-6 4 pinters a week so just over 20 pints a week.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/04/2020 22:36

The old milk marketing board slogan used to be 'drink a pinta milk a day' so that would be 21 for 3 adults.

We're getting through a bit more than a pint each at the moment because we're just getting local deliveries - milkman, veg box, meat box and some frozen fish - so no yogurt (porridge, cereal and milk or baked egg custard instead) and all meals from scratch (cauliflower cheese...)

3 adults here and we get through about 20 pints a week , we use the BOB milk as it’s lower fat apparently . Dh has cereal or porridge every day at least once so that’s where the bulk goes I think .

DramaAlpaca · 28/04/2020 22:40

Three adults here, about 6 litres per week so that's roughly 11 pints.

Lonelylockdown22 · 28/04/2020 22:41

Wow this is a boring conversation.

MiniMum97 · 28/04/2020 22:42

2 adults and we are going through about 12 pints a week.

EnglishRain · 28/04/2020 22:43

I get through about 8 pints a week just for me at the minute. I'm pregnant and cereal is one of my favourite things to eat. None of it goes on tea, and DH drinks his coffee black.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 28/04/2020 22:44

We go through 18 pints a week theres me, dp, ds age 5yrs, dd1 age 3yrs and dd2 age 2yrs.

I make cheese sauce at least twice a week, cereal, yorkshire puddings, pancakes, the children drink milk before bed, dp drinks tea by the bucket load

Letthemysterybe · 28/04/2020 22:45

2 adults 2 kids and about 12 pints a week. It used to be more, but the kids are currently obsessed with dry cereal.

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 28/04/2020 22:48

When my son lived at home there were just the two adults and we got through 20 pints.

Is there a limit on how much you are supposed to have?

DS is a fan of milk and would drink it by the pint. Plus cereals while gaming etc.

I'm on soya milk now and get through about 6 litres a month.

MrFaceyRomford · 28/04/2020 22:52

3 adults = 12 - 16 pints a week.

Salene · 28/04/2020 22:52

2 adults , 3 and 5 year old we use 7lt a week .

2ltr semi
1 ltr whole
500ml skim

We get the above on a Monday and Thursday delivered

CoffeeBeansGalore · 28/04/2020 22:53

@jomaIone I don't actually drink tea 😁. Love my lattes though. Probably 3 a day each for myself & dh which uses about 3 pints. Dh drinks tea by the gallon. Teen and adult dd drink hot chocolate & eat cereal & porridge. Dd makes a mean milkshake as well! So it's easy to get through 40+ pints a week.

user1496146479 · 28/04/2020 22:53

Hmmm. 4dc, only 3 on cows milk at the moment, youngest on formula still, plus two adults.... we go through about 32 pints!!! BlushGrin

LadyLovelyLockz · 28/04/2020 22:56

We get x2 on Tues and Thurs and x3 on Sat. So 7 pints roughly- 2 adults and a 6yo.

2007Millie · 28/04/2020 23:01

4 adults, 1 toddler- 14 pints a week

yikesanotherbooboo · 28/04/2020 23:04

2 adults : 4 pints.
In non covid times we are 3 adults and drink the same amount .

DonnaDarko · 28/04/2020 23:07

I honestly don't know but I feel like we're always running out, and it's all fucking expensive as we're all dairy free!

WitchSharkadder · 28/04/2020 23:27

We get through in excess of 40 pints a week with two adults, two teens and 2 DCs.

That's coffees, cereal, glasses of milk for the kids and occasional pancakes.
