Getting fit indoors - accountability thread

We have been in lockdown for 6 weeks I think and outdoor activity is very limited. I am getting fatter and creakier! Wondered if anybody else would like an accountability thread to post what exercise you are doing every day? I started off well but lethargy has set in and I am feeling less and less like moving but also not sleeping well so I need someone to get me to buck my ideas up!

ooh and well done on the 45 mins Flowers

and also the 25 miles cycled Shock

HackAttack · 10/05/2020 16:11

I have 3 stone to lose so I'm trying to be focused Smile

Wildernesstips · 10/05/2020 18:54

1 1/2 hr walk today - changed the route slightly and it feels like a whole new horizon has opened up! Back to WFH next week so there will be less opportunity for long walks but I have scheduled in the Pilates classes for the week.

I didn’t manage any over the weekend as busy decluttering and building furniture. Ended up with joint pain last night so may have to take it easier today, I could manage the exercise bike though I think.

lovinglavidaloca · 11/05/2020 12:19

Fitness blender workout done this morning. Much prefer doing it first thing so will try and make that become a habit this week.

We’re allowed out twice as of today here in Scotland so i think every second day I might go a run in the evening instead of the YouTube workout. I can still take the kids out during the day.

Watched a very interesting clip on Facebook about getting 15000 steps a day and really want to try and make that a daily goal but it would be a real struggle as the kids aren’t keen to go as far as that.

LycraLovingLass · 11/05/2020 14:21

Having a rest day today but painting the bathroom so still kind if active.

I got my fitness bands and resistance tubes so I will be looking on YouTube for workouts incorporating those for tomorrow.

lubeybooby · 11/05/2020 15:07

did 27 mins elliptical today just purely as the songs I fancied for my playlist came to 27 mins. Cool, I'll take it.

UpToonGirl · 11/05/2020 15:56

Where did you get your elliptical from @lubeybooby? I am looking to get one but I'm worried I'll end up getting a flimsy machine - myself and DH are not exactly lightweights so something solid is a must!

I've got an exercise bike arriving tomorrow and my plan is 10mins in morning and 10mins while children are getting ready for bed. I've also started 16:8.

Ragwort · 11/05/2020 16:24

Some great ideas on here for at home workouts, many thanks.

Wildernesstips · 11/05/2020 17:32

25 mins Pilates on Fiit

lovinglavidaloca · 11/05/2020 19:21

Wish we had space for equipment! Hopefully next house will have a garage or a spare room I can get some bits and pieces for.

I did a fitness blender workout on YouTube this morning and a 4.5 miles cycle with the kids.

Currently browsing YouTube to find new workouts I fancy. Want to keep it varied.

rivierliedje · 11/05/2020 20:36

This thread is very inspiring!
25 minute run this morning with a five minute warm up and five minute cool down walk
one hour ish walk
one hour of weeding in the garden

LaneBoy · 11/05/2020 22:12

I did the workout instead of the exercise bike. Felt better for it but very achy now!

lubeybooby · 12/05/2020 09:28

@UpToonGirl it's a reebok one that's about 15 years old (8 years older than my relationship) and had never been used til now - DP insisted on hanging onto it and it was driving me mad. He used it twice when I started this. Now I'm the only bugger using the thing!

I'm glad it's finally getting some use instead of sitting there being a big heavy bastard mocking us. I am a convert from treadmills though definitely. Never thought that would happen.

lubeybooby · 12/05/2020 16:19

did 30 mins today

also noticed my legs don't look like my legs anymore. I apparently have new legs. I sent a pic to my DD expecting a 'oh cool yeah' kind of response and instead got an OH MY GOD! And she said they look like her best friends legs - who is a dancer and gymnast - I'm sure that isn't QUITE true but they look more like my legs as a teenager when I was very athletic than they do say, my legs last year. It's the little things getting me through this rough grumpy week so I'll take it!

rivierliedje · 12/05/2020 18:27

Cycled to and from work today and went on a 20 minute walk during my lunch break. The cycle is 11km each way which helps and is very hilly up and down both ways!

lovinglavidaloca · 12/05/2020 21:49

@lubeybooby new legs! Brilliant. Your DD sounds really supportive as well bless her.

@rivierliedje that’s loads you’ve done today. Well done!

I did a walk/run combo tonight. Haven’t run since July or August last year when I gave up after completing C25K because I wasn’t losing any weight whatsoever. Was only doing 5 minute intervals of running tonight but felt amazing that I hadn’t gone back to the start when I couldn’t even run for 30 seconds without wanting to collapse. Will build that back up again.

It doesn’t feel great on my knees though and I don’t know if that’s just because they’re not that keen on hauling 11 stone around or if there’s a problem. Will keep at it for now and see if things improve.

lubeybooby · 13/05/2020 08:01

Thanks, yeah she's lovely - well done on your running @lovinglavidaloca

and well done @rivierliedje !

lubeybooby · 13/05/2020 10:10

I'm not feeling like moving my ass today but I'm going to anyway in the hope it lifts the hormonal maudlin sadness. Been pretty fine all through lockdown and I never cry. Last time was when my cat was put down October last year... but god I could sob today. I was so naive and really thought I'd be able to see my DD soon but it's not looking like it for a while yet.

Trying to focus on what I'm grateful for - number one on that list has to be my little exercise routine (and the damn dress!) giving my day a bit of structure and purpose. I'm so thankful that I got into this as a habit

To be clear, my usual reaction to stress is to hibernate, eat a lot and definitely not move my body so this is pretty huge. Old me would have gained a stone or more by now and be feeling wretched about that as well as everything else.

LaneBoy · 13/05/2020 10:19

I didn’t do anything yesterday. Feeling really unmotivated and overwhelmed by life generally, and feel very achy this morning Hmm

lubeybooby · 13/05/2020 12:17

I did it. 30 mins Angry

friggin calories

UpToonGirl · 13/05/2020 18:34

Well done @lubeybooby the workouts you do when you dont want to are the most rewarding!

I'm loving reading this thread, very motivational. I recieved my exercise bike yesterday, assembled it then did 15mins last night and the same this morning. I know it's a short time but it's a start anyway. Going to order a cross trainer tonight, well I'm going to try anyway, they all seem out of stock.

I've also been sticking to my 16:8 although I know I need to make better choices in my window.

HackAttack · 13/05/2020 19:56

10 more miles on the bike, ow

Wildernesstips · 13/05/2020 21:26

Well done everyone especially if you’ve not been feeling it. I did my 25 min Pilates class.

Have spent too long looking at retro dance workouts on Youtube. Tomorrow I’m going to try one by Kelly Hext - looks awesome.

lovinglavidaloca · 13/05/2020 21:47

Well done all! We are SMASHING IT!!

Popsugar workout done for me today and a short walk.

My knee isn’t right at all, not painful but just doesn’t feel right. I’m hoping the support I ordered yesterday will come tomorrow to see if that helps.
