Post some general boring, everyday, normal shit going on on your life/home. Amusing stories welcome to.

Only rule = no mention of CV, there is a whole topic for that.

I'll start. I used a different washing powder. Pro - it smells nice and must be same one as someone I'm friendly with as reminds me of them! Con - it's made my nose all allergenic. Back to the supermarket own brand one for me.

Up for a run in a minute, when I've got enough oomph. Then off to work (supermarket) until eight, when I will fall through the front door and collapse in a heap. But the weather is glorious, I had a cup of tea outside in my garden this morning complete with birdsong, fabulous view of misty hills and the sound of pebbledash removal from a house in the village. Ah well, you can't have everything.

DC are having a break from schoolwork so we're all playing The Sims. I'm on the laptop and they're on the XBox.

My eye socket hurts for some reason today though. Not sure if I managed to punch myself in my sleep, doesn't look bruised but feels it.

springydaff · 25/03/2020 17:38

I've had an email that some shoes I ordered from China like an idiot are on their way! Both pairs!

VERY excited 👡 (

Got 5 crayons out for 13 month old DD to play with. Suddenly there's 4.
Where the hell did the 5th one go? Under the sofa? No. Behind her? No. Behind me? No. Finally found it inside the back of her bodysuit.
I look forward to finding many more random things inside her clothes as the years go on.

LaneBoy · 25/03/2020 21:30

You’ll find them in yours too powkin :o

At least it was a crayon I suppose. My 2yo put bran flakes (thankfully dry!) in her wellies earlier Hmm Blush :o

powkin · 26/03/2020 13:39

@LaneBoy - her new thing today was putting the crayons in her shoes so not long to go now!

Wilding · 26/03/2020 14:49

Tiled the kitchen today! Very impressed with myself though still have to grout it which is going to be messy...

Got a huge order delivered from the local cheese shop today and a fresh sourdough loaf and some hot cross bins are being dropped off by the baker soon. Have a feeling my weight loss goals might fall by the wayside this week!

LaneBoy · 26/03/2020 15:36

Powkin :o lots of fun discoveries ahead!

Friend sent us a puzzle today. I’m not generally a jigsaw fan but Wentworth ones are great - they are wooden and can be fiendish

springydaff · 27/03/2020 21:24

TWICE today I 'had to' shout call out my car window because 'people' were being stupid dangerous

  • a guy jogging on the road that runs in the middle of the Downs ffs, so extensive green space either side. I called out "why are you jogging on the road darling" (
Wilding · 27/03/2020 22:06

I received loads of surprise goodies in the post today - expensive chocs from one relative and a jigsaw from another. Really cheered me up!

spiderlight · 28/03/2020 15:18

Our kite blew away :( It went flipping miles before we lost sight of it. Gutted! It has given me an excuse to buy DS a proper two-handled one though. Will have to create some sort of wrist strap for it!

TenCornMaidens · 03/04/2020 20:30

Filled the bird feeders today. Saw a blue tit for the first time in a very long time.

powkin · 04/04/2020 08:35

Saw a nuthatch yesterday.
Mopped all the floors.
DD spent a lot of the day trying to eat me, like a starving baby vampire, and has begun again in earnest today (tooth number 9 I think...)
Ate far too many mini eggs yesterday and regret I didn’t ration them better. I have disappointing almond butter brownies that taste healthy but absolutely aren’t which is the worst of both worlds.

TenCornMaidens · 04/04/2020 12:43

Sourdough starter (that we began last Sunday) made a lovely loaf for lunch.

Ipadipod · 04/04/2020 19:20

I’m sure I saw the international Space Station last night. Definitely wasn’t a star.

Cagedbirdsinging · 05/04/2020 13:41

I cut my hair last night .

springydaff · 05/04/2020 21:14

I'm thinking of cutting my hair short.

As in short short 😮

peaceanddove · 05/04/2020 22:24

My coverless duvets from M&S arrived today and our teens are over the moon with them. They so soft and comfy, and you can just bung them straight in the washing machine. No more wrestling with duvet covers Smile

springydaff · 05/04/2020 22:35

Peace!

Cagedbirdsinging · 05/04/2020 22:41

@springydaff ....now is a good time to mutilate one's own hair ; hardly anyone will see , and if you have to pop out it's still chilly enough to warrant wearing a stylish hat .
Or a diver's helmet if it goes really badly .

springydaff · 05/04/2020 23:04

🤣

megletthesecond · 05/04/2020 23:11

We had an adult and juvenile red kite over the garden today. Could hear them calling to each other. We're in the middle of a large town and see kites daily, but never heard their calls before.

SomethingOnce · 07/04/2020 20:50

What about that moon, though? Beautiful...

Iloveknockknockjokes · 07/04/2020 20:53

I thought the first episode of Ozark was amazing and second not so good....but still good. Thom Yorke song, Jason Bateman lead...all perfect

springydaff · 07/04/2020 21:16

Night before last I didn't sleep at all. At ALL. Absolutely no idea why, I was perfectly content. I spent a great deal of time on here and reported endless posts - and threads - for ageism. In between many episodes of Homes Under The Hammer.

Caught up last night, had a gorgeous night's sleep.
