Post some general boring, everyday, normal shit going on on your life/home. Amusing stories welcome to.

Only rule = no mention of CV, there is a whole topic for that.

I'll start. I used a different washing powder. Pro - it smells nice and must be same one as someone I'm friendly with as reminds me of them! Con - it's made my nose all allergenic. Back to the supermarket own brand one for me.

My baby’s farts have really started to smell.

I worry that the halcyon days of his flatulence being inoffensive to the nostrils are already behind me, a mere 4 and a half months into parenthood.

Holy Lord... 💨🤢😷

PenguinsOnParade · 18/03/2020 22:10

Magically appearing paracetamol would be wonderful though. Grin

I'm not planning anything food related tomorrow, going to be cleaning and doing some laundry.

I might print a sign for my door though, not c-word related, but we had a charity collector type at the door tonight for the first time since we moved here (almost a year ago) and it horrified me, I thought we'd found somewhere they didn't go with the lack of them so far.

GoodStuffAnnie · 18/03/2020 22:11

I’m watching call the midwife.

GoodStuffAnnie · 18/03/2020 22:11

Just scrubbed a dirty pan.

GoodStuffAnnie · 18/03/2020 22:12

Took my 5 year old for a wee.

HeronLanyon · 18/03/2020 22:35

This is a mundane problem but it feels big. My fridge freezer broke this afternoon. It’s quite full at the moment. Friends’/neighbours’ fridges also coincidentally all are quite full too. Have ordered one - delivery Saturday.
Going to bed. Could cry.
I’m sure tomorrow will be better.

TheBeeatAmbridge · 18/03/2020 23:04

Oh no, Heron, have you got a cool box you can put the most important stuff in? It should stay chilled in the fridge for a little while if you don't open the door much.

TheBeeatAmbridge · 18/03/2020 23:08

Today I've been dipping in and out of work (freelance so not obliged to do 9-5), as well as bits of crochet, laundry, TV, cross-stitch and reading heart-warming stories on FB. Hoping to take the opportunity to get back in touch with various friends Smile

SomethingOnce · 19/03/2020 00:25

Turns out there has been no panic buying of clotted cream.

This weekend, I will be mostly eating scones.

Orangeblossom78 · 19/03/2020 06:21

Woke up early, going to have a cup of coffee in a minute, can hear birds singing outside. Grateful for the peace in the usually hectic city...and quiet

Orangeblossom78 · 19/03/2020 06:22

Don't temp me with scones please, been eating too much from stress recently. Wink

Wilding · 19/03/2020 07:50

Ooh scones, there's a thought. All I want to do at the moment is bake but I'm trying to eat sensibly while I'm pregnant as otherwise I'll end up the size of a house!

HeronLanyon · 19/03/2020 07:54

Gills are scoping out/establishing their nesting sites at chimney level. Wonder how last years three babies (born 12 th June) are doing. Good luck all breeding everythings ! Including us !

HeronLanyon · 19/03/2020 07:54

Gulls.

My2catsarefab · 19/03/2020 08:33

I nipped out to get something out of the car last night at midnight. I could hear a couple of seagulls squawking. I live in a city. It was surreal but nice (as the sound reminds me of being near a beach) so I just stood and listened for a bit.

lowlandLucky · 19/03/2020 08:49

Wellintentionedreader Goodluck for today, i hope all goes well Flowers

Bluetrews25 · 19/03/2020 09:14

Day off for me today. After my crosstrainer run, I jumped in the shower then came out to find I had forgotten to hang my bath towel on the hook in the ensuite and had to dry on the hand towel that was there. Nope, not good.

Saw a friend stressing about mice on FB, which reminded me of a very very old joke.

How can you tell when you've got elephants in your house?

Footprints in the butter.
Grin Grin Grin

Orangeblossom78 · 19/03/2020 09:23

I have a surprise as my 14 yr old DS's school closed yesterday and he is here with me working on his computer. It is nice with him to chat to but trying not to disturb him.

Quite a drizzly day here today, just doing normal morning jobs of clearing up breakfast, sweeping floors, laundry while having a cup of tea and MN all at once

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/03/2020 14:42

How can you tell if you have elephants in the fridge?
You can't shut the door.

I made bread this afternoon and have just had a slice of it warm from the oven, with butter and pâté. Yum.

TheBeeatAmbridge · 19/03/2020 16:00

Fresh bread and pate sounds pretty epic, Asking

I did 40 minutes on the exercise bike this morning while I watched two eps of The Mindy Project - I'm on a race against time as it's going to disappear from Now TV in about ten days and I want to get the whole lot seen! Managed to hit a new record top speed of 40kmh, only for a few seconds but still Smile

sockittome123 · 19/03/2020 17:22

Stop talking about food, I'm trying not to eat my entire stockpile Grin Although I did make some brownies yesterday... wonder how long they'll last!

PenguinsOnParade · 19/03/2020 17:51

I've been true to my word and not made any food related items today. It does stop me from eating so much when I'm actually making things though.

A friend told me the other day her hoover wasn't working and since we just got our Shark the old one was going spare. It was awful on our stairs but she's in a flat so should be fine for her.

springydaff · 19/03/2020 20:17

Maybe I'll start a similar thread and write NO FOOD TALK in the heading Wink

I got a new hoover (an actual Hoover) in Lidl for 50 quid. I ❤️ it! It's so cheap and cheerful and my carpets look AMAZING.

Changed my meds and I feel like I've got PMT. I've been driving badly all day, pissed right off with people going 15-20mph in front of me. One car pootled up to the (empty) junction and stopped, taking a leisurely look around. I undercut.

Sorry, was this supposed to be cheerful.

Cagedbirdsinging · 19/03/2020 20:47

Thank you @lowlandLucky . I have been treating it for a few days ; it seems to have quietened down and my dog has stopped fretting over it .
The sun came out today so I shaved the mud cut the grass at the back of my house . Then the mower broke . Is this the universe's way of telling me to get back indoors ?
P.s. I used to be Wellintentioned ..... I've changed .

Wilding · 19/03/2020 22:13

Miserable drizzly day here so had to put off the gardening. Cheered myself up with some spiced quince muffins from the freezer, I think all the food talk on this thread is subconsciously influencing me!

Did a live online antenatal pilates class this evening - missing the gym so it's great to have alternatives.
