Post some general boring, everyday, normal shit going on on your life/home. Amusing stories welcome to.

Only rule = no mention of CV, there is a whole topic for that.

I'll start. I used a different washing powder. Pro - it smells nice and must be same one as someone I'm friendly with as reminds me of them! Con - it's made my nose all allergenic. Back to the supermarket own brand one for me.

wrongside I wore my spring jacket yesterday instead of my massive down coat and it was so liberating and hopeful-feeling!

Not an everyday occurrence BUT our (huge) freezer was left open overnight so my husband is downstairs cooking all the food. Lovely cooked breakfast in bed for me. Grin

Mitsouko67 · 11/03/2020 09:03

Yes thinking of switching to lighter coat.

Ran out of shampoo and am using a shampoo bar a friend gave me 10 years ago. It works and smells really nice! Love using up my toiletries. Just love lotions and potions full stop.

AntMansVan · 11/03/2020 09:06

I saw the first squirrel of the year this morning! Must mean spring is coming, the bunnies will be up next.

Nacknick · 11/03/2020 10:51

We need to get a new hoover and I've been looking at Sharks. Which model did you get @PenguinsOnParade?

PenguinsOnParade · 11/03/2020 10:58

@MelAndShoe - we use a memory foam topper to help protect the mattress so don't think I could easily use it on that, but the sofa is going to be getting a hell of a clean later as I hate to think what the old one missed there.

@Nacknick - it's this one but we got it elsewhere for around £100 cheaper. :) It's a bit heavier than I was expecting but still so much better than our old one (upright Vax, used to always swear by the brand but the Shark has shown it up in every way.)

@Wellintentionedreader I hope all goes well with your chemo today.

susandelgado · 11/03/2020 14:09

@Wellintentionedreader
That sounds lovely. I always feel like gardening when there's a full moon! Accompanied by my little dogs Smile
Good luck with the chemo, I've been there Sad

Heathercob · 12/03/2020 19:47

Had a breezy beach ride on my gorgeous Heather cob this morning, now curled up with a purry cat whilst reading, "The Glittering Hour", by Iona Grey 😊😊😊!

Bluewavescrashing · 12/03/2020 19:50

I like this thread.

Having a cosy evening with the DCs, having been to town for an appointment after school. We stopped off at Harvester for dinner as an impromptu treat.

Wondering what to watch this eve. Has anyone seen Breeders yet?

Wellintentionedreader · 12/03/2020 20:04

@KatsutheClockworkOctopus and @susandelgado thank you .
Whilst we're all stuck indoors because of the rain and various viruses let's take the opportunity to Check Our Freckles !
Funnily enough , my dog 'alerted' to the one on my foot , she had never shown any interest in it before . I'm so glad I had it checked straight away .
I'll have three weeks of topical chemo then GP review .

TenCornMaidens · 12/03/2020 20:23

@Wellintentioned did your dog alert to it before you knew anything was up? Shock

I have had a lazy day today. Went out with just a jumper earlier. Bit too optimistic, froze. Grin

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:24

I really need to have some tea but my cat is sitting on me.

Is this my life now?

BabbleBee · 12/03/2020 20:28

I stood up to a bully today... I rarely use that term but this guy truly is vile. My word it was empowering.

Aeris1 · 12/03/2020 20:29

My little boy climbed the washing machine today and the door fell off. I have a new one coming tomorrow.

myidentitymycrisis · 12/03/2020 20:29

I’m just having a beer and finished eating. Going to have a bath and mini pamper afterwards

myidentitymycrisis · 12/03/2020 20:30

@BabbleBee
Go you! Feels so good doesn’t it

Karwomannghia · 12/03/2020 20:31

I left the back door open today for the first time in Yonks so my dog could come and go. Anyway forgot about it and was sitting on the sofa with ddog and dd and something caught my eye- a cat had wandered in and was eyeing us from the doorway! Soon ran off when I gasped and gestured (ddog very chilled). 10 minutes later it happened again with another one! We’ve had dogs for years and loads of cats in the garden but they’ve never come in before!

Polkadotdelight · 12/03/2020 20:31

I chopped a tooth yesterday and had my very first filling today - I'm in my 40s. Was stacking it but I was brave!!!

Willow4987 · 12/03/2020 20:32

I’m cluster feeding DS2 and trying to resist eating ALL of the treats in the house

user764329056 · 12/03/2020 20:33

Saw lots of daffodils today, feel hopeful about spring

HunterHearstHelmsley · 12/03/2020 20:35

Well done @BabbleBee!

BabbleBee · 12/03/2020 20:39

@myidentitymycrisis @HunterHearstHelmsley

Thanks Smile hopefully he’ll think twice before picking on my DD again!

Emmapeeler1 · 12/03/2020 20:41

I just made a fruit tea, then changed my mind and made a decaf tea as well.
But someone has eaten all the chocolate fingers Hmm

ShirleyPhallus · 12/03/2020 20:41

Nice idea for a thread OP!

I’m 39 weeks pregnant so currently bouncing on my ball, eating pineapple and drinking raspberry leaf tea. Hoping something starts moving soon!

marriednotdead · 12/03/2020 20:53

What a great thread OP, just what we all need Smile

Have spent the day with my grandkids. DGS(6) was having a meltdown this morning because 'my socks aren't symmetrical!' I got him to check his feet and see that they weren't either and he got over himself Grin
Meanwhile DGD (16 months) was busy blowing her dummy to cool it down, not sure why she thought it was hot.
Am focusing on the above rather than the fact that someone has twatted the back of my car as they passed at some point today.

And (crosses fingers) my regular HRT is back in stock, the last few weeks on a substitute have been 'challenging' so hopefully will be back to my normal by next week Smile
