I don't know if anyone else has made one!
BA2665 has missed LGW and is circling again

Yay a landing at Gatwick! The Porto flight is down, so I'm calling it a night too.

NoGravyForYou · 16/02/2020 01:08

Hopefully that means the Gran Canaria plane heading to LGW might be able to land ok!

Flight from Tenerife to Gatwick had a couple of goes, now heading north - BAW2665 over Milton Keynes now.

NoGravyForYou · 16/02/2020 01:13

I think 2665 have been diverted to Newcastle

Another Gatwick landing! Hurrah!
Bed now...

Dandydoodle · 16/02/2020 01:15

Flight 4681 from Gran Canaria just landed on its first attempt at Gatwick. I wonder if the passengers on board realise just how lucky they are!

NoGravyForYou · 16/02/2020 01:16

They're probably wondering why the airport is so quiet 😂

OP posts:
Dandydoodle · 16/02/2020 01:18

Bet they are. Bet Manchester is heaving right now too.

NoGravyForYou · 16/02/2020 01:19

Can only imagine, they've taken loads of diversions today.

All those passengers we've watched tonight. Wonder if any of them were thinking "hmm wouldn't it be funny if some randoms on Mumsnet were tracking our flight"

NoGravyForYou · 16/02/2020 01:22

Poor people on BA2665, meant to be landing in LGW and are ending up in Newcastle, literally opposite ends of the country 🙈

peekaboob · 16/02/2020 01:24

There's another wizzair due in at Luton in 30 mins but I am literally at the point where I'm about to drop my phone on my face Grin

NoGravyForYou · 16/02/2020 01:30

W94464 is on it's way to Liverpool I think.

Despite not tracking flights myself and so not seeing what you are all seeing, I’m thoroughly entertained by this thread Grin

Same! Glad it’s making so many people happy Grin

AngeloMysterioso · 16/02/2020 06:54

So I’ve just opened Flight Radar 24 on my phone and I’m utterly baffled... how are you all deciding which planes to follow?

AngeloMysterioso · 16/02/2020 06:57

I have no idea what’s going on here

HappyAsASandboy · 16/02/2020 07:05

@AngeloMysterioso just look at them randomly! You soon get to know where the approach paths are and can watch them land. It's complete chance whether you find one that has to go around again or gets diverted.

Thunderpunt · 16/02/2020 07:12

On the stand at LGW - waiting to pushback - it's windy Confused

MissSkate · 16/02/2020 07:37

Have a safe flight @Thunderpunt!

I've been watching the JFK, Dubai and Miami (diverted to AMS) flights trying to land there for the last hour, think they've finally managed it. Those poor people on those flights!

notimagain · 16/02/2020 07:52

Morning...Blimey wake up and it's still gusting 35 knots across a wet'ish runway at Gatwick...

Looking at recent aerodrome forecasts for the south east UK it appears any one of those airports with east/west runways ( which means Heathrow and Gatwick) be problematic at times, especially if the wind picks up in association with showers.

Thunderpunt · 16/02/2020 07:58

Pilot is hilarious, just given a spiel about sitting and waiting for the wind to die down.....mentioned that there have been a number of successful landings this morning..... thank god for no unsuccessful landings! Pushing back - see you on the other side 🤞🏼🤞🏼

AFingerofFudge · 16/02/2020 08:23

Morning! Lurked last night, compulsively watching flights and following this thread until the small hours. Good luck thunder ! Am also on a flight at lunchtime from Bristol (wind calming down) to the west of Ireland where the wind is definitely not calming down! I'm hazarding a guess we'll be ok taking off, but we could get diverted! Sincerely hoping not but at this rate I'll just take a safe landing!!

Ohdeariedear · 16/02/2020 08:23

Morning! Very windy here under one of Edinburgh’s flight paths. Might get a go-around or two today?

Freeshavocado · 16/02/2020 08:33

Much windier in Leeds this morning, DP wants to drive over to Leeds Bradford later to watch some potential arrivals.
Sadly Big Jet TV are in Chicago according to DP yesterday, although he did mention another stream which I'll ask him about once he's awake.

MinnieMountain · 16/02/2020 08:39

Blimey. Reading this is making me glad of DH's new "get the train whenever possible" policy. He and DS might not have made it to France yesterday otherwise.
