The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

All well here Chez Fleas thank you, yolo.

I am such a hypochondriac though, every ache and sniffle is making me paranoid.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 10:20

I'm sure I'd be exactly the same fleas, seems an entirely natural response to me Chocolate

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 12:38

Here's Willis, having a sunbathe. The randomly laid slabs (where's Mr. Mhor when you need him) are actually because the dog enjoys charging through that exact bit of flowerbed.

oops, forgot to add pic!

Mustress has popped out for a bit but I have the keys to her drinks cabinet and full sherry dispensing rights.

Oooh!

I'm curling up on this rug by the wood-burner and am rather hoping someone will cook me square sausage and a dippy egg...

Two dippy eggs, perhaps .... I don't like the white.

Sherry?

Don't mind if I do 🥂

7Penguins · 13/03/2020 14:41

We are going to need a closer photo of Willis 😍

I'm going to clean the windows. I know it's going to rain tomorrow, which means they will be all blotchy and sandy again, but it's better than thinking about coronavirus and whether we will ever see DD1 again...

Will find/take better pic of Willis later!

LaM Fancy seeing you on the Terry Pratchett and the Chimley (lol) threads! I promise I’m not stalking you. Wink

I hope I receive some good advice about my vanity wood burner. Grin

yolo I hope that was tongue in cheek, I haven’t seen you like this. And ofc you’ll see DD soon. Flowers

Rather liked the "chimley" one. I don't often nip over to DIY & Property, but that one's worth a look (if only to prove I make rubbish jokes in different places from here).

Ah, I miss TP.

I promise I’m not stalking you. wink

I know...

Because I'm stalking you....

Mwahahaha!

(Scared myself a bit, there)

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 18:40

This may not be entirely appropriate... but I have just seen my first two bats of the year, flitting about the garden. These are strong, British bats who are plucky and have stiff upper lips (probably, but they are pipistrelles, very small, very fast, and a long way away so I can't actually see their upper lips). Also, DD2 is picking us up a Chinese takeaway on her way home. The yolo family is made of stern stuff.

7Penguins · 13/03/2020 18:42

Bats are great, and vital to ecosystems.
As long as you resist the urge to make bat soup, I think you’re safe! Grin

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 18:44

Bat soup? Bat soup??? are you bloody mad 7? Even if we were starving I couldnt catch them anyway...

Very happy that DD2 working from home for the foreseeable. Just need to see what happens with DD1 - Swiss have just shut their ski resorts so I imagine France will do the same home and she'll be sent home.

7Penguins · 13/03/2020 18:47

Lovely, corona (not the beer) bringing families together since 2020 Grin

London is nearly deserted. Mr Worfs texted he’ll be working mostly from home the next few weeks

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 18:57

7 it's got to be sensible... and safer. How's baby penguin doing?

7Penguins · 13/03/2020 19:07

Baby penguin is feeling normal again, until the next bug he picks up at nursery.

I need to start doing shush and pat again, the illness reset routine and now the little blighter wants to co-sleep and wake up to snack every 2 hours. I need sleeeeep.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 20:41

oh god babies that won't sleep... every sympathy 7. And its almost worse when they get out of a sleep routine - I can remember feeling sick with tiredness Wine

Then of course the buggers turn nocturnal, and you see them for about 3 hours per day when your waking hours coincide.

OVienna · 13/03/2020 21:54

Ugh. Thanks for the shout outs. I am stressed but cheerfully sipping cava. WFH as of Monday. Fearing next financial crisis. Kids still in school. Parents Yankside and worrying about me, my family, themselves, and the ocean that separates us!

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 22:14

OV cava is the obvious solution to all that stress... dont worry about your parents worrying, that's what parents are for!

PenguinOrHippo · 14/03/2020 10:46

LaMa, am with you by the wood burner. Dippy eggs sounds lovely and I would love some square sausages. This is so cosy!

Trying to stay away from bat soup and drinking cava sounds like just the thing in these times. Flowers and hugs to everyone worried about illnesses and finances. These are really uncharted waters, nobody really know what will happen. I find it really hard actually. Am a sahm, so trying to keep our home well, stock up on some things and make tentative plans for when the school closes /breaks up. Poor DH is probably worried about financials.

This is such a good place to pop into. Hoping that the Mustress will be back soon, but feeling very much at home and comfy at her place.

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 14/03/2020 11:38

Hope mustress is back soon!? 🙁

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 14/03/2020 11:45

Hope mustress is back soon!?

Me too, but not before we've straightened this place up. Look at the state of it. Honestly!

GrinWink

PenguinOrHippo · 14/03/2020 12:15

Oh dear fleas , good point!! Do you think it is too early for a small sherry whilst doing something about the mess?
