The Robbing Butcher - Bemused by the Patio at FrogMhor Cottage

TheMustressMhor · 08/02/2020 10:58

What next for the Robbing Butcher?

Will he wander past Mhor Cottage several times a day so that he can keep an eye on the progress of the patio?

Will Mr. Mhor's measurements turn out to be wrong? And will Mustress Mhor and her DH have too many SLABS as a result?

If they do, what will they do with them?

Will the eggs be dippy tomorrow?

fleas eek! Everything xd for you, here's a Wine - it might be early but I'm sure alcohol has a cleansing effect.

PenguinOrHippo · 12/03/2020 11:31

Oh fleas, I am so sorry to hear that. Hope you have the basics - and WineGin.

That is such a nightmare Sad

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 11:39

To be honest, we are fine, have had a bit of a flu like virus on return from our cruise and then were notified of confirmed cases (no-one we had contact with) which made it sensible to be checked out.

In some ways it will be good to know one way or the other.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 11:41

Although next door may wonder why his misdelivered post was pushed through the door by a blue glued hand and with a liberal spritzing of anti bac treatment!

APenquinIsCuttingthegrass · 12/03/2020 12:51

I am braving the supermarket later and v pleased to hear that Wine shelves are not empty!

Enforced isolation will encourage me to play freezer roulette and eat the casseroles and rich meaty meals ready for light spring feasts and lots of fish Grin I like to try and find a positive.

7Penguins · 12/03/2020 13:35

Mischief I’m sure all be fine, make the two weeks as enjoyable as possible. Also, as David Mitchell quipped, thank God for Sainsbury’s, to keep the riff raff out of Waitrose. Grin

We stopped by Sainsbury’s (!) and I bought some stuff, including dishwasher tablets.

Shelves were stripped of toilet paper, soap, antibac stuff and regular pasta.

I guess many would starve rather than eat wholewheat. Grin

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 15:28

Anyway, enough about me

Look what I got!

See, something wonderful was coming...

LaMarschallin · 12/03/2020 15:36

Well done that Mustress!

(And that Mischief Smile)

PenguinOrHippo · 12/03/2020 15:38

Whoop, whoop, whoop!!!! 🍾🥂💥

APenquinIsCuttingthegrass · 12/03/2020 15:45

Whoop whoop indeed

Just need to fathom how to sign up for updates

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 12/03/2020 15:59

fleas fabulous!

Why cant we English have NS instead of the execrable BJ? She comes out of a cobra meeting and explains, he's fucked off to the HoC tea room or somewhere and will deign to speak to the plebs at 5pm.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 16:14

I am discovering how useless I would be under rationing. I am trying very unsuccessfully to eke out my butter supplies. DH has his own preferred olive spread- yuk yuk yuk - but I suppose that will have to do. I might surreptitiously shovel some out of his while he isn't looking.

7Penguins · 12/03/2020 16:18

Excellent blog, I hope cats are featured more prominently in future posts. 😼

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 12/03/2020 17:46

If That Man tells me one more time it will all be fiiiiine if we just wash our hands more often and stay plucky, I will probably send out a hit squad to 10 Downing St.

What a pile of absolute pants!

7Penguins · 12/03/2020 19:49

I think people are definitely taking precautions, Mr Worfs tells me the trains and tube in rush hour early this week had about 10-20% less people than usual. Probably more next week.

APenquinIsCuttingthegrass · 12/03/2020 19:50

But we are getting better at singing whilst washing our hands and singing boosts our wellbeing so they say. Could be a win win Grin

I did emergency isolation stockpiling tonight ... wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, wine, bleach and toilet rolls Halo

Oh and 68 dishwasher tabs ... on special offer... thanks for the reminder .. but also can send emergency supplies if needed so please don’t hate me for finding them and buying

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 12/03/2020 22:44

penquin the wine stockage is very impressive, I salute you penguin style.

I think we have agreed that DD2 will work from home as of tomorrow, she only has 2 weeks left to fulfill her placement requirement, and I can organise enough work for her to fill up the extra two weeks if it's really necessary. Such a relief, almost 4 hours commuting per day and the added stress of train/tube travel and bring germs home to DH.

DD1 meanwhile still in France, I cannot see that we will be allowed to travel in less than 2 weeks time? Gutted not to see her, but hoping that if France closes borders she will be sent home... that's not great either, but because I am an old softy I'd be happier having my babies under our roof in these uncertain times.

APenquinIsCuttingthegrass · 12/03/2020 22:55

Yolo. I understand the angst. Both of mine abroad. One only flew back out last week. Beauty of FaceTime without their washing i find helps with prospective .... said with much love and have flown without much notice when needed and work being amazing .... but I do get having them home is huggable however old they are

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 12/03/2020 23:01

penQuin (spot the Q!) it's just because of Dh being unwell, and immunosuppressed. So if we do actually get to go to France, I'll worry (catching something while there, quarantine blah), and if we dont get to go then DD1 will be so upset. So I'm fingers xing that FCO will ban travel and DD1 will have to come home... and DD2 has announced that she thinks she will go to work in London tomorrow. Bloody kids! Wine

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 23:02

I'd want them home too, yolo.

DD, in cahoots with DS2, has been begging me to stay home rather than travel abroad as planned. It's clearly worrying her a lot so we've decided to give it a miss, but we still have to get some essential admin sorted.

A care package arrive from her today, face masks, hand sanitizer and disposable gloves.

No butter though😔

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 23:23

Just reread the thread and saw your post from yesterday, @O'Vienna. Sorry to hear about DH, is he finding life at home difficult or is he a domestic god? Hope your own work situation isn't getting you down too much. Been there, got the battle scars.

Mustress has popped out for a bit but I have the keys to her drinks cabinet and full sherry dispensing rights.

Do make yourself at home.Smile

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 12/03/2020 23:25

I'm going to have another go at that. @OVienna.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 12/03/2020 23:28

bloody hell, you've got the keys to her drinks cabinet? way hay, paartaaaay!

OV wot fleas said, how are you doing?

Wine to all you radiators, I have to go to bed now - sleep well one and all

APenquinIsCuttingthegrass · 12/03/2020 23:35

Yup bloody kids. I won’t share this evening’s missive. But i bloody adore them.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 09:37

Morning all, are we thriving? hope you are still feeling well fleas.

DD2's office has run out of handwash. The boss has suggested they fill up the bottles with shampoo. I am not exactly overwhelmed with confidence, as I don't think shampoo is proven effective against coronavirus? If it works of course, I could make a fortune.
