I did watch wedding and thought it was a lovely spectacle.

I have no pets so don't think I'll be contributing much at all!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/01/2020 17:55

Princess Beatrice’s wedding is at some point this year...

JulietJanuary · 25/01/2020 17:55

Haggis here.

Got to go searching for my turnip..

GuytheBeagle · 25/01/2020 17:56

Hello Grin

Some lovely cider on the go here. Naice cider, obvs, not yer white lightening.

My decking is not ok. I put my foot through it earlier this afternoon, rescuing Thyro Puss from going any further. She is rapidly recovering her old self as the medication wears off.

Now... what shall I have from the Chinese?

GuytheBeagle · 25/01/2020 17:58

I have a friend coming round to share said Chinese, so won't be posting much this eve.

goldierocks · 25/01/2020 17:58

Pets/no pets - I'm sure all are very welcome to the thread Smile

I've previously shared pics of one of my cats....I'm not sure photos of my other pets would be appreciated because they are tarantulas.

Tartyflette · 25/01/2020 18:05

Proper Pink Gin (the old fashioned sort) is a very good drink indeed.
You need good quality London or Plymouth gin (I like Beefeater myself) at 40 pct ABV, ice and Angostura bitters.
Several cubes of ice in a generous glass, just a few drops of Angostura, add the gin and swirl round so that the gin is faintly blush-coloured. Drink.
Some people pour away the first lot of ice/angostura before adding gin and more ice to the now empty glass. Pointless.

Tartyflette · 25/01/2020 18:07

Do NOT use already ‘pink’ gin, it will be flavoured with fruit of some kind and probably sweetened too. It will have a lower alcohol content as a result.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/01/2020 18:09

I have no pets - away from home too much - so I enjoy the opportunity to share yours. So glad GuytheBeagle's DCat is making a speedy recovery.

I do occasionally have custody of DS's cat but do not have permission to use his image and cannot afford a £10k donation to charity.

JulietJanuary · 25/01/2020 18:11

Neeps cooking.

Yes, Tartyflette I remember Pink Gin now from an old cocktail recipe book!

Angostura bitters are lovely.

Tartyflette · 25/01/2020 18:13

Miss my Tartycats so much and would love another one but our road is deadly for cats - quiet for a lot of the day but a rat-run in the rush hour.

Tartyflette · 25/01/2020 18:17

Oh — it’s Burns night! I’m in Spain at the moment and doubt I could source neeps let alone haggis.
I could imagine haggis going down well here, they are very fond of callos (tripe).

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/01/2020 18:18

Tartyflette our road can be quite busy but we never see cat casualties. We have huge gardens at the back and the local cat population make good use of them. Our lovely Siamese cat never ventured near the front of the house and lived to a ripe old age. So maybe you could have one?

OVienna · 25/01/2020 18:21

Royalist: j'adore Queenie. I suppose I am exhausted from disruption in public life at least for a while and am happy for them to carry on. But Harry was a terrifying window into the sense of entitlement...

(Are we keeping this thread light..?)

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 25/01/2020 18:22

Thanks Mustress the thread title makes me think of an episode of Father Brown.

Guy our usual Chinese order is Green Peppers & Black Bean King Prawns, Chicken & Spring Onions/Broccoli, Bamboo Shoots & Water Chestnuts in Oyster Sauce, egg fried rice & vegetable spring rolls.

Though tonight it's a freezer tea of meatballs, chips & baked beans.

Ness1234 · 25/01/2020 18:26

Haggis here too! The veggie one.

JulietJanuary · 25/01/2020 18:30

OVienna how true.

Onprozacandmyhighhorse · 25/01/2020 18:31

Can I join in? I lurked on the other posts but was put off posting by the constant cross examining of what posters meant.
Haggis, needs and tatties here tonight with a lovely Jura whisky for later.
I'm also west of Scotland so possibly near to some of you (although not Argyll). Loved the banter on the other threads. I'm afraid some folk just don't get our sense of humour 🤔
Royalist here who was delighted for M & H but have gone right off them due to their behaviour.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/01/2020 18:42

I feel slightly ashamed of dinner chez fleas as it involves a ready made pie but in my defence I am too headachy to cook and DH is a bit of a liability in the kitchen.

I have prodigious quantities of cheese to use up from Christmas so we will be feasting on cheese based suppers for days yet.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 25/01/2020 18:44

No idea what this thread is about but I'm enjoying the Scottish/Burns Night theme.

For some reason the Reverend I M Jolly has popped into my head. I've had a hell of a day 😂

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/01/2020 18:55

Should have added,

Neither royalist nor republican. HMQ and PP are made of stuff we won't see again.

I think the monarchy is an institution best viewed from a distance. The royals are human and will have human failings and maybe we don't need to know about them as long as they do their job of providing a non political figurehead for the nation and supporting and promoting initiatives that benefit all members of society but especially the most disadvantaged ones.

Was a huge supporter of H&M till the engagement interview. Downhill for me all the way since then, I'm afraid.

HarryDaylight · 25/01/2020 18:55

Hello everybody, I may be very slightly drunk, as some bastard van driver drove into my car and trying to deal with the insurance stuff is like waiding through mud. I love you all. Crown Smile

Cindershasoddshoes · 25/01/2020 18:59

I don’t have a cat or a bat
I don’t live in England
And miss. A good curry

notmoresheep · 25/01/2020 19:01

hello everyone. tatties are on and neeps are neeping, DH getting ready to address the haggis. and a lot of alcohol, but no pink gin.

HarryDaylight that’s awful. bloody vans.

Cindershasoddshoes · 25/01/2020 19:06

May I ask what a neep is
