It's on Netflix and it's called A Simple Favour

Anna Kendrick plays "Mom Stereotype"

Blake Lively plays "Mysterious Woman Stereotype"

Henry Golding plays "Wooden Husband"

Appalling dialogue and acting

Weird incest subplot

Recommended for purposes of mockery.

@cantfindname
I realise I am about to get battered into submission but in my mind one of the worst movies ever was bloody 'Titanic'

I thought it was a right of passage on MN to hate Titanic and to those who like it get Hmmed at? Grin

JObriensbollox · 29/11/2019 05:11

@TheNameGames

I cannot stand it either and as for The Bodyguard ... I will always love yoooouu! 🤮

custardbear · 29/11/2019 05:21

Can I please add to the crappy film list ... every Star Wars movie since the original 3 we're made
Home Alone

NellieTheElephant1 · 29/11/2019 05:24

I enjoyed A Simple Favour but then I don't have very sophisticated tastes🤷‍♀️

JObriensbollox · 29/11/2019 05:28

Also because Christmas is approaching Bad Santa, The Grinch and Scrooged.

MsTSwift · 29/11/2019 05:30

Bridesmaids is hilarious. How can you hate that?! The step kids scene “Fuck off Helen” cracks me up.

My worst Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Men in grey coats talking. Almost cried with boredom worse was in cinema so no escape

Ohwhatbliss · 29/11/2019 05:40

Worst film ever Mama Mia, by a mile

TheNameGames · 29/11/2019 05:43

I'll also add Elf. Hate that film. It's a family favourite. I refuse to join in with Christmas Eve if they put it on or it's on TV and they want to watch it.

Cloverbeauty · 29/11/2019 05:53

Nope worst film is the happening.

JObriensbollox · 29/11/2019 06:01

@TheNameGames

I love Elf and watch it every year it is a cult Christmas film

Sofast · 29/11/2019 06:05

I didn't like a simple favour, I kept my dvd thinking I might watch it again as Blake Livley (that sp looks wrong) is bloody gorgeous and I want to be her friend but actually I sent it to music magpie this week

The worst movie ever made has to be "Night train to Venice" (a.k.a "Train to Hell"), with Hugh Grant and Malcolm McDowell. I've never come across anyone else who has seen apart from me and my friend who picked it up in a £1 bin in some supermarket. It was honestly the most nonsensical thing I've ever watched.

JObriensbollox · 29/11/2019 06:15

I have just thought of another one ... Silver Streak

Gingernaut · 29/11/2019 06:15

I'll see your 'A Simple Favour' and raise you 'An Incident at Raven's Gate'.

Aliens land in the Australian outback and dehydrate everything and everyone they contact, killing them.

Men from the government hide the landing - because outback.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 29/11/2019 06:18

I once watched part of a channel five mild peril film where five teenage friends go on a sailing trip.

It was called Two Came Back.

On the film still which announced each ad break was an image of the two survivors.

I see your Titanic and raise you.....Titanic 2! So awful, bit has to be watched at least once!
The only film I’ve ever walked out of at the cinema was Tropic Thunder, terrible terrible film!

Warpdrive · 29/11/2019 06:28

have i found my people? I also hated Titanic.

The weakest of plots, and I kind of knew what was coming because its about the Titanic.

ohcarriemathison · 29/11/2019 06:35

Oh my goodness worst movie I've seen recently was "Fractured" on Netflix. Very weird.

LoadsOfSpace · 29/11/2019 06:41

I was ill in bed yesterday and watched Brittany runs a Marathon on Netflix. It was pretty dire.
The worst film I’ve ever seen is Forget Me Not. It is painful and awful.

Apolloanddaphne · 29/11/2019 06:43

Another Blake Lively abomination is The Shallows. Basically it is Blake Lively sitting on a rock trying to avoid being eaten by a shark. Turgid and boring as hell.

Afonavon · 29/11/2019 06:45

I give you Hellboy 2. I reckon that ALL the budget went on CGI. The plot was a hastily mashed together ramblings of someone off their tits on every drug available. I was so angry watching it, but stayed to the end with an unrealistic hope that somehow it would redeem itself...of course, it didn’t! If I ever see something worse I will take it a a sign that the film industry is being run by monkeys at typewriters with every script they type being made indiscriminately.

So so so shit.

I have gone and made myself angry again. I feel like they stole my money. The fuckers!

TheClaws · 29/11/2019 06:48

The worst movie I’ve seen, without question, is ‘Valerian and the City of of a Thousand Planets’. Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan have no chemistry whatsoever. The plot is incomprehensible and the sets and wardrobes/makeup look - like sets and wardrobe and makeup. Bad ones. The Rhianna scene was completely unnecessary.
