Instamum drama 2

A continuation of the discussion regarding the MOD news and ethics surrounding Instagram “influencers”.

Candice’s stories about muminthemadhouse are talked about on the tattle tier 3 instamums thread back in February. I remember being shocked at the tone at the time they were posted.

Muthahood sending a cringe sycophantic letter to CB today saying she “goes high” should have a look at those comments and see if she still agrees with that statement 🙄

instagramwilleatitself · 13/11/2019 23:28

Tattle has all the evidence one needs (even for stories that disappear or can't be screenshotted) as people discuss it there and then. The fact that some of these grammers seem to forget it is pretty ironic.

SemperIdem · 13/11/2019 23:33

Clemmie Telford might not be following MOD anymore but Marks and Spencer still are. Slightly surprised at that, I’d have expected them to drop her like a stone immediately.

BanKittenHeels · 14/11/2019 00:57

M&S are probably following in order to keep an eye on any comments that might damage their brand.

What a mess. The mean girl behaviour is awful. But worse for me is the advertising of pensive products of dubious benefit by a registered midwife.

brightonroc · 14/11/2019 02:09

This whole thing makes women look like dicks

Tooearlyforcrackers · 14/11/2019 06:32

M&S have a terrible social media team. Remember the influencer designed shoes? Omg some of them were horrendous. They don’t enforce proper disclosure and their selection of influencers is dubious and doesn’t seem to work with the brand at all. DLAM for M&S has always perplexed me.

mustangsly · 14/11/2019 06:39

M&S are so desperate.

Tooearlyforcrackers · 14/11/2019 06:48

I think in some ways M&S were ahead of the game because they used to do those monthly picks from bloggers, in the days when they didn't disclose and it just looked like the bloggers really liked M&S and found some great stuff in there. Now we know they are being paid to say it then it doesn't have the same impact and half the time they look like they have been given something that has been overstocked and told to try to make it look like something they would wear. Those Christmas party ads with influencers where they all stand around in sparkly black dresses and red lipstick laughing manically at each other make me cringe as well. Haven't seen one yet for this season, I eagerly await the M&S Christmas influencer campaign Grin

Actually surprised this is still rumbling. It’s a witch hunt now.

jamoncrumpets · 14/11/2019 07:41

It's only a witch hunt because of MODs absolute silence since her (temporary) apology.

Something like this had been bound to happen for a long time. We said on here that the bubble would burst. We predicted this.

This would never have happened in the first place in these people didn't sell their kids out for free holidays and Gousto boxes. They didn't HAVE to do that. They chose fame. And all its trappings.

porkpiepat · 14/11/2019 07:52

I don't blame her for staying silent, her "real" job is at stake (apparently) so I think laying low is sensible. Also god knows what's going on in that house, fod is happily commenting and liking posts of the people she slagged off which doesn't show much loyalty.

I actually do feel sorry for her but she's ultimately been destroyed by her own ego, she's always been completely defensive about any criticism of her disclosing of gifts/ads etc. She obviously found an outlet for her frustrations online and got carried away. The witch hunt is ridiculous though.

hopeishere · 14/11/2019 08:06

Her best move is to stay silent.

MarshaBradyo · 14/11/2019 08:07

It really is, it will go away but another comment will invite even more backlash afresh

Tooearlyforcrackers · 14/11/2019 08:11

It is strange how she hasn't removed comments on her post, or taken her page down for a bit, or gone private - she has done all of these things in the past. Although the longer this goes on, the more some of the other characters play bad cards and the sympathy shifts back to MoD. Hungermama starts to look desperate as she has a book out, TMS starts to have regrets and seeks an agent and looks thirsty for fame in the process, her old pals take sides and look like snakes, and more stuff comes out about CB and how she isn't a particularly nice person anyway. Maybe staying silent is the best strategy.

MarshaBradyo · 14/11/2019 08:14

Everyone is feeding off her high following anyway. They follow or interact with her and their numbers go up.

I’d just think sod the lot of you and go. Fake awful people anyway better off leaving the whole thing.

legoiseverywhere · 14/11/2019 08:35

Really? that's a bit weird surely? I think I would be hiding under the duvet & burning my phone. Is it to keep engagement up?

CadyHeron · 14/11/2019 08:44

@InfiniteGerbils
Actually surprised this is still rumbling. It’s a witch hunt now

Are you new to IG threads lol?!
I'm not surprised there's a new thread 'cos the old one filled up at all.
Get ready for IG 3 Where We Rub Legs With Glee then IG 4 Drama Galore Grin

It's only a witch hunt because of MODs absolute silence

Yeah, right. Wouldn't matter what these so called influencers did, the avid watchers would be right in there running back to the thread to slaver over what they'd just said/did/done/about to do/should have said better.

BanKittenHeels · 14/11/2019 09:21

I personally haven’t seen any witch hunts, I don’t think that’s what this or the original thread was about either.

OP posts:
MarshaBradyo · 14/11/2019 09:23

I don’t think pp meant these threads as witch hunt but out there.

BanKittenHeels · 14/11/2019 09:26

Have the comments gone that way under her post? I thought they had been mostly sympathetic.

I have to admit to not knowing/following most of the “smaller” names in this storm, so I haven’t seen her fellow Instamums of whichever tier (🤪) go for her throat.

OP posts:
catinb0oots · 14/11/2019 09:29

It is a witch hunt! I can't stand MOD (or FOD) but I do feel sorry for her. Some IGers are being awful about her.

Ironically, Tattle is actually being quite supportive.

Basilicaofthemind · 14/11/2019 09:32

I wouldn’t read too much into who’s following or unfollowing who. These public accounts are their shop window and not where people engage with their friends on a personal level. It will all be about appearances rather than anything meaningful.

Worlds0kayestmum · 14/11/2019 09:38

Clemmie T is still following Mods private account

karala · 14/11/2019 09:54

Well I don't know much about any of it but the red hot glow of love from FOD to FOD is awesome. I have never seen a man more in love with himself.
