Why are some Labour voters in denial about JCs endorsement of party wide anti-Semitism

I'm in a tactical vote group on FB. There was a fairly civilised discussion about JC when I said as a Jew I can't vote for him, nor any of the members of the small community where we live.

Then I got told off for buying the "fear mongering biased media".

I've read and heard what he's said. As a Jew I can clearly see it as anti-Semitism. It baffles me that people are still in denial about it.

Michael Gove was under pressure on the Today show this morning to explain how the promised investigation into Islamophobia has now been widened to ‘all prejudice’, thus watered down. He didn’t have an answer and tried to deny the change. So it is being talked about.

I accept it is a real conflict for passionate Labour supporters to criticise their own party

Funnily enough, I don't have that problem - I've always been a floater, :) but I can well imagine how painful it is for those who are.

My 'problem' I guess is I absolutely loathe this incompetent, priveleged, lying Tory Govt (I know this is whataboutary but they are all linked in my head) loathe the Brexiteering wing, loathe the rise of really heinous racism in the country - so many of my black, Asian and European friends have been affected in the last three years - and I just..can't stand it anymore!!

Gah. No easy answers.

I think Ben Elton has dual nationality, and has come back to England now his kids (triplets) are at university here.

His Dad came here as a refugee from the Nazis.

@Willowcat77 - I wasn't trying to misquote you. I honestly thought you had missed out a word! After all Baroness Warsi has been all over the headlines this week calling out Tory islamophobia. You don't hear much about Tory antisemitism admittedly, but then again who's to say it's as out in the open as it is in the Labour party? One of the issues with Corbyn's leadership is that it has emboldened racists to come out of the woodwork.

Ephraim Mirvis, the chief rabbi, has warned that Jeremy Corbyn’s handling of antisemitism allegations makes him “unfit for high office”. Writing in tomorrow’s Times newspaper he says that the “very soul of our nation is at stake” in next month’s general election.

I really hope this helps people to wake up to what Jeremy Corbyn is.
