We put ours up on the 1st Oct. I have a lovely autumn wreath Grin and I place pumpkins out on the porch

Inside I have build up a lot over the years - witches legs. Ghosts.
I change the cushions to Halloween cushions. Love it.

WhispersOfWickedness · 10/10/2019 21:30

A day or two before and down the day after.
Not sure why they are much different to Christmas decorations in terms of single use though tbh, ours are years old, apart from the ones I bought this year and intend to keep for future years Confused Apart from the pumpkins obviously Grin

Doing ours this weekend, we set up a whole interactive haunted house and we are expecting around 50 kids from the neighborhood. We live in a log house so this year we are going for a twisted fairytale theme. I love it. We will finish Halloween eve off with fireworks & a bonfire.

Did ours at the weekend, DS was so excited! Would leave them up till the Christmas tree goes up if I thought I could get away with it!Blush as it is, we take them down after bonfire night. Smile

I'll do some autumn decorations on Saturday as it is Thanksgiving (the Canadian one) this weekend. So i put up a wreath and then have some pumpkins out the front. Then the Halloween decorations will probably go up the week before. I love it too.

isayhitocats · 10/10/2019 21:37

Never

SapphireSeptember · 10/10/2019 21:51

I haven't taken mine down from last year and I'm adding more. Grin They also double as Xmas decorations, yay!

It's Halloween every day, witches!

80sMum · 10/10/2019 22:00

Halloween decs?? I've never had any. Didn't know they existed, to tell you the truth.

Wizzbangpop · 10/10/2019 22:20

Will carve a Pumpkin in the run up to it. Either on Halloween or day before. That's about it

LizB62A · 10/10/2019 22:25

Never - what's the point ?!

AliceLittle · 10/10/2019 22:30

Not a tradition we take part in.

beela · 10/10/2019 22:34

Do what now?

Annasgirl · 10/10/2019 22:38

Oh I really go to town. I start preparing about now. I have a full Pinterest page ready of inspiration. I do a mix of "Fall Decor" at the front door and Halloween stuff indoors. I then do a full Halloween front garden but only for Halloween day and night - I live in Ireland and our neighbourhood is renowned for the Halloween decor as all the local young kids come to Trick or Treat and so we all do up our houses.

Then a few weeks after I start planning Christmas decor - I know, its sad, but it's a hobby I enjoy.

stucknoue · 10/10/2019 22:41

Never, no problem with Halloween but why increase your plastic and carbon footprint with tat ... pumpkin will be put out on the correct day. With Christmas I have a 20 year old tree and very few other decorations... candles I suppose

HerRoyalNotness · 10/10/2019 22:43

Last week, but we’re in the states when it goes up pretty much for all of October. Most reuse decor year after year and add a couple new bits each year

clairethewitch70 · 10/10/2019 22:44

I am a witch, they stay up all year around. Now is the time I do my interior decor shopping Grin

DENMAN03 · 10/10/2019 22:47

The old Victorian street where I live go crazy. The decorations go up
On the 31st and down the next day. We have over 300 children visit and it's great fun. We have been doing it as a street active for the last 8 years and it really brings together the community spirit. This year I'm doing the Acid bath murderer scene (he lived less than a mile away) complete with bath and skeleton. I like to be scary and educational!

clairethewitch70 Yes! A person after my own heart. 🧡🖤

MrsFattyBumBum · 10/10/2019 22:59

Saturday.

But my bedroom is Halloween all year round 🎃❤️

MrsFattyBumBum · 10/10/2019 22:59

Claire, me too!

Gotta love TKMaxx in October. Have got some great accessories!

Chickydoo · 10/10/2019 23:00

Is that a thing???

Rachelover60 · 10/10/2019 23:30

Never heard of doing that, don't know anyone who does. Are you in America, op?

Willow2017 · 10/10/2019 23:31

Aww such 'clever'posters on here feigning surprise that people decorate for Halloween.

Do none of you actually know that Halloween is a UK (especially Scotland and ireland) tradition with its roots going back to pagan times? It was imported to USA ffs.

Carry on with your 'looking down your nose at the unenlightened' attitude and we will carry on with having a great time with our deckrations and pumpkins and being entertained by loads of lovely guisers.

I have been using some of my decorations for donkeys years, why do people seem to think we buy them and then throw them into landfill on 1st November?

Every fucking year😠

MrsFattyBumBum · 10/10/2019 23:33

Yup

I am Pagan too and I get really fed up of people going on about Halloween being Americanised.

For me, it's a religious Holiday. Just as much as Christmas for some.

Plus it's super fun!
