About bloody time I say!

The Mail ramped up their ‘coverage’ after Harry wrote and asked the media to stop being racist. They had articles scoffing at the idea of Meghan’s mother having tea with the Queen because (shock, horror!) she had dreadlocks. They were being racist but, as is always the case, didn’t like being called out on it.
This time Harry’s not asking nicely, he’s taken the legal route. Good for them. If only they could shut the whole paper down.

bengalcat · 01/10/2019 21:28

Good for you Harry .

The Fail have had a shocking campaign of hate against Meghan for a Iong while. The Fail have also criticised Kate, but it has been just that...criticism; and she has not had to face thinly veiled racism like Meghan has.

Quirrelsotherface · 01/10/2019 21:29

Yes she did sue, rightly so. It isn't that, it is the WAY they go about it! Yes, sue them for the letter and for the countless articles but it's the drama, the long emotional, deeply personal statements, mentioning Princess Diana, which surely has to be hurtful to William I think. It's the way they go about things, it's not the way things are done. Yes look to change things but not overnight.

Ruefaro · 01/10/2019 21:29

No need to pit Kate and Meghan against each other.

percheron67 · 01/10/2019 21:29

What is the letter which was published.?

Rachelle11 · 01/10/2019 21:31

I think they should have sued but not written this statement. This will not change anyone's mind and merely fuel the fire for those who already dislike her.

Rachelover60 · 01/10/2019 21:32

I just read that on MSN. Good!!! It also shows they are aware of what is said about them, how it is slanted and, frankly, nasty. I always took what was said with a pinch of salt and avoided a lot of it but the press reports certainly gave food for threads on here.

Harry's letter was excellent. What a lovely husband he is. Quite right too. I hope it all stops when they get back from their trip and how good it must feel to be away from it all for a while.

Blooming HateMail.

73kittycat73 · 01/10/2019 21:33

I like Meghan. Does anybody know their twitter so I can tweet some support? (Tried google but came up with lots of different accounts!)

Span1elsRock · 01/10/2019 21:33

I have a horrid feeling that Harry has just fanned the flames with this action. It didn't work the first time.

MrsNotNice · 01/10/2019 21:34

Is there a way the public can support ? Especially us mums?

ballsdeep · 01/10/2019 21:36

Kate was never slandered as much as meghan is. Meghan could piss a rainbow and people would moan there wasn't a pot of gold at the end. Good on harry

ElizabethG81 · 01/10/2019 21:37

I have a feeling he's just made things worse, and also that that's what he wants. There had been some positive coverage this week, so why choose this moment to bring it back down to "woe is me, the press are awful, my mother died don't you know". I think Harry has deeply rooted problems and can't/doesn't want to move away from the victim role.

100PercentThatBitch · 01/10/2019 21:37

Very heartening to see so many reactions similar to my own which was :

Fucking FINALLY

Absolute muckrakers and should be taken to the cleaners

GCAcademic · 01/10/2019 21:38

Piers Morgan is basically a pathetic, creepy stalker. If he wasn’t able to travel under the appellation of “journalist” then he’d be called by that more accurate term we give to men who relentlessly harass and pursue a vendetta against women for the crime of giving them the brush-off.

Longlongsummer · 01/10/2019 21:38

Why would anyone dislike Meghan?

She hasn’t done anything to you!

Do not understand do people have really boring lives and love drama?

BenWillbondsPants · 01/10/2019 21:39

About bloody time. The way some of the press write about Megan is utterly appalling.

Villageidiots · 01/10/2019 21:39

How did the press get the letter? Did her dad sell it to them?

areyoubeingserviced · 01/10/2019 21:39

I am glad that he is suing the press.
Some of the articles written about his wife have been absolutely vile.
There will be those who believe that the British press will go harder on the couple. This may be the case, but to be honest some sections of the British press have been so malicious and cruel with their daily attacks on Meghan.
Harry is probably concerned about his wife’s physical and mental state. He probably feels some guilt as Meghan is enduring this because she is married to Harry.
I am not a royalist by any stretch of the imagination, but I have becomes increasingly uncomfortable with the personal attacks on her.
The sad thing , is that their detractors will claim that Meghan made Harry sue the press.

Queenoftheashes · 01/10/2019 21:40

@ElizabethG81 really?? Of course he has deep-rooted problems; the paparazzi chased his mother to her death when he was 12! Naturally he doesn’t want similar happening to his wife.

Being the victim of kerb licking muck rakers and suing them is not woe is me, this has been a long time coming and I think the vile slandering bastards should get called out on their morals

areyoubeingserviced · 01/10/2019 21:41

@GCAcademic- agree with you about Piers Morgan. The man is a vile , nasty piece of work who will get his comeuppance

Encyclo · 01/10/2019 21:42

To those saying he shouldn't have mentioned his Mother in the statement, why not?

If your mother had been hounded to her death by the press and now something similar was being done to you wife, wouldn't you feel it? Wouldn't you be re-traumatised all over again?

He's not "playing the victim"
He IS the victim.
