About bloody time I say!

Of course there's always one who says "rise above it" even where there's blatant racism.

I say good on them!

Also Kate did sue for nude pictures or something like that to whoever implied take hadn't

Encyclo · 01/10/2019 21:19

I'm delighted they're doing this. The Mail has been disgusting. And it's not only random/no face staff writers either.

Piers Morgan has been on a mission to destroy her because she had a drink with him once and then didn't contact him.

That odious Sarah Vine wrote a condescending piece the day they presented Archie to Archbishop Tutu.

Go on Harry! Stick it to them!

Breathlessness · 01/10/2019 21:19

I’d imagine they’ve been sucking up in the hope of avoiding legal action.

I agree with you Penny. It's been appalling the way people on this site have piled in. Good to see there have been lots of push backs though.

peanutbutterandbanana · 01/10/2019 21:20

Harry and Meghan just refuse to do anything quietly, they are constantly drawing attention.

Yup, let's continue to blame the bullied victims here. Un-fucking-believable.

BlockedandDeleted · 01/10/2019 21:21

Look at Kate

Is that the same Kate that sued Closer Magazine in France for record damages (although they weren't awarded that much)?

www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/sep/05/topless-photos-of-duchess-of-cambridge-were-invasion-of-privacy

It's arguable the sustained dogwhistle attacks on DoS are much more intrusive and damaging than some blurry boobs.

Wildorchidz · 01/10/2019 21:21

The Cambridges successfully sued a French magazine when photos of the Duchess sunbathing topless were published.

SleepyKat · 01/10/2019 21:21

I’m sure they’ve had a decent lawyer/barrister look at the case and that they think they have a chance of winning, hopefully a good chance. MOS will obviously also have a good legal team....but maybe they will pay up to avoid a costly legal battle.

I just hope this doesn’t make the press antagonism towards them worse.

stairway · 01/10/2019 21:21

I wonder why her father and odious sister have been so quiet. I reckon they’ve been paid off.

TurquoiseDress · 01/10/2019 21:21

Wow fair play to him

There really has been the most unbelievable amount of shite written about MM over the last year or so...

It most definitely escalated around the time of her pregnancy announcement and just kept going during her pregnancy and beyond

About time action was taken, it does not matter that they are part of the royal family and in the public eye etc

Some of the things written about them- specifically MM and then Archie- were totally outrageous

SaraNade · 01/10/2019 21:21

@Quirrelsotherface You mean the way William and Kate sued phototographers who published photographs of Kate and her attention-seeking in sheer white bikinis? If it was ok for them to respond, why not Harry? Such double standards, and Harry and Meghan don't even court attention the way Kate and William do. Meghan I think has eased into her job quietly and with dignity, unlike the bull in a china shop way Kate first came onto the scene, acting as if she were the Queen because she got William. I think Meghan is far quieter, more subtle and much more dignified than Kate.

SapphireSeptember · 01/10/2019 21:22

Good, about bloody time someone went after the Daily Heil. I like Meghan and Harry (who went up in my estimation when I found out he's a heavy metal fan. Grin )

MrsNotNice · 01/10/2019 21:22

I can only imagine how aweful it must b for them to have a newborn they want to focus on but be overwhelmed with so much hatered from the media. I wouldn’t b surprised if she developed PND. Sounds like every case of MNers who have nasty in laws down their throat scrutinising everything about them to have a laugh. Absolute disgrace.

Shame on mums on this site who can’t see that Meghan is a mother too and is a human and shouldn’t be just expected to “put up with it”. I bet they’re jealous that her husband decided to stand up for her Hmm

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 01/10/2019 21:22

Good about time the blatant racist rhetoric was pulled down!

SleepyKat · 01/10/2019 21:22

Yes, Piers Morgan has such an obvious chip on his shoulder about her not being matey with him it’s unreal!

PianoTuner567 · 01/10/2019 21:23

What did she do? She quietly stood her ground, never lost her composure, she had a genuine self belief.

She sued the French magazine over topless pictures and rightly so. I think they mostly suck it up but take action they consider a line is crossed, which seems a sensible strategy to me.

katseyes7 · 01/10/2019 21:23

l work on a supermarket checkout. lt amazes me how many apparently 'nice' people buy that newspaper. l really hope this sees an end to it. lt is the most vile, scurrilous rag.

Cohle · 01/10/2019 21:24

I do wonder whether strategically this is the wisest move though. The Mail's coverage of her going forward will be brutal.

Joe2019 · 01/10/2019 21:24

That is excellent news, and I am sure the anti bullying charities are looking forward to their windfall.

For *no real reason at all, that should be.

BlockedandDeleted · 01/10/2019 21:25

@Usethegoodbudder

There is a part of me that hopes that they knew that when she sent it as she knew that her Father would run to the papers.

Double whammy, she gets her side of the story over AND gets a bulletproof reason to take the Associated papers to the court thus a clear message to the racists in the press.

If so, then hats off to them both. Played!

megletthesecond · 01/10/2019 21:26

Good for them.

Wow, such a powerful statement.
Actually welled up a little reading the last few paragraphs about his mum being a victim of the same kind of vitriol at the hands of the press Sad
