I'm a fully grown, adult, professional, competent, mature woman but....

... I fucking love stickers.

I recently bought these and they're stuck all over my professional work diary. They make me so happy Grin

I also love a hot orange squash. My mother started giving me hot orange squash to warm me up when I got home from nursery in the winter. I have had a hot orange squash every single day as my "just got home" drink ever since then.

Tell me all of the ways you're an adult competent woman but still basically four years old....

When I see toys with rainbow hair (like vintage my little ponies etc) it makes me feel funny in my tummy still.
I saw a barbie with rainbow hair recently. Wanted it desperately!

Rosesarere · 03/09/2019 16:21

I have just spent a obscene amount of money in Christmas playmobile, I can't wait to get it set up in December, my kids will only be allowed to play under my supervision 😂 this is my toy!

sunnysunchild · 03/09/2019 18:21

I like to ride DD (age 7)'s bright pink Micro Scooter to school to pick her up.
Wheeeeeeeee! So much fun... and the disgusted looks I get from people in their cars stuckintraffic makes me lol 😆

theluckiest · 03/09/2019 19:00

I cannot resist a zip wire or big slide in a playground (but only if no one is watching)

Can't resist bubble-wrap or indeed, bubbles.

I NEED my own advent calendar. Every year. Or else I feel sad and left out...

I am the one who suggests a trip to the pet shop not to buy dog treats really, I'm lying but so I can see all the floofy lickle hamsters and mice and rabbits and things...

I am secretly impressed that DH knows all of the words to the Um Bongo advert...yknow the one 'Um Bongo, Um Bongo, they drink it in the Congo...'

AFingerofFudge · 03/09/2019 19:10

In answer to funghi I think hot squash should be in a plastic beaker. Part of the attraction is the smell the beaker has when you slurp!

AFingerofFudge · 03/09/2019 19:12

Oh, and another telling thing is that I've just let DS2 have my beef Wellington (heavily reduced in the shop as it's use by today) so I can have a fish finger sandwich Grin

DadCanIHaveAZedgie · 03/09/2019 19:34

I love twirling. With a big billowy skirt. And petticoats.

An ‘egg in a cup’.

^^ This! My mum used to give me this when I was poorly.

It's medicinal.

Soubriquet · 03/09/2019 19:35

I like collecting beanie boo teddy bears and LOL dolls Grin

cheesestringz · 03/09/2019 19:40

scented gel pens, mashed eggs in a cup, cute socks. i'm sure there's loads more but they make me happy 😍

Bramble88 · 03/09/2019 19:41

I just tried the hot squash thing and its a game changer, thanks OP!

BeBraveAndBeKind · 03/09/2019 22:48

I get really excited by lambs in spring and shout "lambs!" even when I'm on my own.

I still play a lot of the music I played as a teenager and can still remember all the words. I sing loudly to Carter the unstoppable sex machine on my way to work.

I never grow tired of crunching autumn leaves.

runlift · 03/09/2019 23:28

Love this thread. Read children's books all the time and sleep with teddies.

wanderings · 04/09/2019 08:38

Waterslides! If I'm at a pool which has some, I'll childishly go down the same one again and again. I love those which are dark and scary.

@theluckiest I too like my own Advent calendar: I have one with space behind the doors for small gifts, such as sweets, hair things, or bits of paper with something nice we'll do that day.

I love being told to close my eyes before a surprise. Every year on my birthday I'm blindfolded while the final preparations are made, giving the childish excitement time to mount before my eyes are uncovered to reveal the decorated room, cake and lots of presents. Smile

MarieVanGoethem · 04/09/2019 09:32
  • hot squash (but it needs to be blackcurrant [& apple])
  • re-reading Beloved Childhood Books
  • swings!
  • pretty-patterned Mary Jane style pumps as summer shoes (thank you Next & John Lewis children’s shoe departments)
  • the truly glorious time I had light-up trainers (I never had them as a child & it made me a very happy early twentysomething to dance about & make my shoes twinkle)
  • unicorns
  • trampolines & bouncy castles/inflatable assault course type-things (am not really meant to go on them, but invariably when we take Brownies to such things one will be anxious so I will have to go & play provide support)
  • paddling
  • getting my face painted (it’s a hard life being a Brownie Leader...)
  • when I get to have a badge for things we’ve done at Brownies although I have about a billion that need to go on my camp blanket
  • spaghetti hoops on toast
  • [vegan] jelly sweets & things like flying saucers
  • fairy cakes (both making & eating)
  • when there are dressing-up clothes at museums

Anyone seen the musical version of Matilda? This thread has rather made me think of When I Grow Up...

Zenithbear · 04/09/2019 09:57

I love sweet shops, pick n mix and animal shaped chocolates.
Fair rides, water slides, theme parks, swings.
Cute animals.
I still read children's books. I have a lot of colouring books and felt pens, games and jigsaws.
Love Christmas, seaside holidays, arcades.
I actually enjoy talking to other people's dc.
Paddling, swimming.
I love blowing bubbles in my g and t with a straw.
My partner is the same. Very responsible but also childlike.

YouFellAsleep · 07/09/2019 17:26

Sitting at the top of a double decker bus, even without the kids, I don't understand how you can get on the bus and sit downstairs!! Even if the top deck is full, I'll slowly inch towards the front every time someone's gets off Smile

And I loooove hot squash in the winter, Vimto is a particulate favourite Smile

Dilovescake21 · 07/09/2019 17:52

I have been known to eat Farleys Rusks - yummy with hot milk. Also a massive Hello Kitty fan - and Miffy too.

Jeeperscreepers69 · 07/09/2019 17:52

I love anything shiny and egg in a cup. Im still a child inside. I currently have a nasty bug and i cried wen my mam asked me if i was. Ok 🐞

danmthatonestakentryanotheer · 07/09/2019 18:02

Doing hop-scotch on concrete slabs every time I walk into town...I can't resist it

Toddlerteaplease · 07/09/2019 18:08

I love stickers as well. But I'm a peadiatric nurse. I can get away with it! I also still have my childhood teddies and cabbage patch kids in my bedroom.

Proseccopanda · 07/09/2019 18:20

Unicorns...I'm obsessed with unicorns 🦄🤷🏼‍♀️

Survivingorthriving · 07/09/2019 18:27

Sometimes when it's really windy I go out to the garden, lift my coat up from the hem while wearing it to make a parachute and jump up to see if I'll blow away - just like I used to do when I was 7!

SpanGransNo1Fan · 07/09/2019 18:30

@KirstyJC

“I still push then jump onto the trolley in the supermarket car park when wheeling it to the car”
I used to do this til a very embarrassing incident where the trolly hit a car park speed bump and I literally went arse over tit over the ‘handlebars’ of the trolley. Had to pretend it didn’t hurt as I got up Blush

I love stickers and pens and stationery generally. Off now to buy the ones linked in OP Grin Used to love pick’n’mix (esp the foam shrimps) until diabetes put paid to that Sad

Bjhsum · 07/09/2019 18:43

I love watching old kids fav programmes whenever possible like the banana splits n double deckers etc. Happy childhood memories.

AravisQueenOfArchenland · 07/09/2019 18:45

I play Harry Potter Wizards Unite on my mobile, which is basically an interactive sticker book. I play pokemon go, and rewatch Indigo League sometimes (when I'm hungover or ill usually). I still play neopets, 6000 odd days/16 years on.

I love 90's school packed lunch food, dairylea lunchables or triangles, tiny pots of chocolate yoghurt, bags of mini cheddar etc.

There are loads of "childish" things I like to do, it keeps me happy and I'm not bothering anybody else, so why not.
