Sweet or savoury. I'm fascinated by the different foods that are available in the U.K and Ireland(or elsewhere) and being a greedy guts I'm keen to sample them.

What delights are specific to your area?

Very specific to my area but we are rather fond of a decent parmo Smile

OldUnit · 29/06/2019 19:41

Lancashire Crumbly Cheese, Goosnargh Duck, Bury Black Pudding...

Blackpool rock. Grin

Chancewouldbeafinethlng · 29/06/2019 19:42

Thought of another one, a lemon top. Delicious on a hot day!

legalseagull · 29/06/2019 19:42

Sussex has some amazing wine!

MsSquiz · 29/06/2019 19:43

We have stottie cakes & pease pudding

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 19:44

P.S I appreciate that there may be some crossover between areas and countries.

In my area/country Empire biscuits, Potato scones, Snowballs, Tablet and Pineapple tarts come to mind, but there must be others.

Ireland based. We have local buffalo mozzarella and oatmeal. Our local butcher sources most of his meat within a 10km area. We have an excellent organic veg farm nearby

HermioneWeasley · 29/06/2019 19:47

As well as the usual locally produced stuff, pikelets and Yorkshire puddings, obvs

ExpletiveDelighted · 29/06/2019 19:47

Lardy cakes

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 19:48

I don't know why but for some reason I wasn't expecting Goosnargh duck to actually be duck. It sounds good though. I love duck.

We have a great selection of gin distilleries but I suspect every area has now.

Watercress and asparagus are local celebrated foods if I go left out of our road and Dorset apple cake is a local greatness if I turn right!

We are on the Hampshire/Dorset border.

mum2jakie · 29/06/2019 19:49

Staffordshire oatcakes. Versatile food of the god's!

Justonedayatatime11 · 29/06/2019 19:49
