Sweet or savoury. I'm fascinated by the different foods that are available in the U.K and Ireland(or elsewhere) and being a greedy guts I'm keen to sample them.

What delights are specific to your area?

Yorkshire pudding.
Mucky fat, basically the fat and meat bits from the roasting tray you then spread on bread, like dripping. Never actually tried it, but our local market still has a mucky fat stall. Supposed to be good for basting roast potatoes.

OP I think you're from the same part of the country as me! I live down South now and and what I really miss is strawberry tarts. With the proper sauce, that you get in every single bakery.

Where I am now we have... jellied eels. (I'm sure there are good things too, I'll try and remember what they are!)

Lllot5 · 29/06/2019 20:25

It does sound like we're close SoundSystem and Mawof3soontobe. How on earth did I forget strawberry tarts? And may I throw in a word for raspberry tarts which I love about as much as the pineapple ones.
