Sweet or savoury. I'm fascinated by the different foods that are available in the U.K and Ireland(or elsewhere) and being a greedy guts I'm keen to sample them.

What delights are specific to your area?

Bridies, which I don't eat, but my brother swears by a flaky pastry onion bridie.
My favourite is butteries. They are so delicious i could eat about four, so rarely buy them.

Pogmella · 29/06/2019 19:52

Cream teas and honey cake

Afternooninthepark · 29/06/2019 19:53

Rusks!!!

ExpletiveDelighted · 29/06/2019 19:53

Ooh yes, watercress here too. Not with the lardy cakes though.

Grumpymug · 29/06/2019 19:53

@Chancewouldbeafinethlng

Coming on to say the wonderful parmo! Have to explain what it is a lot to visitors, never met someone who wasn't converted yet 😁

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 19:54

I love bridies. I want one now.

I've never tried Butteries though. I think that you can buy them but they aren't really a big thing here. I'm going to have to go out and get one now.

White pudding suppers.

At least I think they're just a Scottish thing but not entirely sure.

A hard fired morning roll.

Nonstopbuttmachine · 29/06/2019 19:55

Round these parts: sheftalia, kleftiko, souvla, souvlakia, keftedes, halloumi, gemista, pastichio, stifado. V meat-heavy and I only indulge about four times a year!

heidbuttsupper · 29/06/2019 19:55

Butteries!

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 19:56

AfternoonInThePark What are Suffolk tusks?

Butteries are amazing. Good butteries are really flaky and a bit salty. So good.

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 19:57

Oh, rusks, sorry. I missed that.

Cream teas, pasties, gin!

FreedomFidgit · 29/06/2019 19:58

Tablet, Irn Bru, Black pudding, square (lorne) sausage, white pudding, scotch pie, macaroni cheese pie & tattie fritters.

fromthefloorboardsup · 29/06/2019 19:58

(These aren't exclusive to us, obviously, but it's what we're famous for)

Redcrayons · 29/06/2019 19:59

Scouse.
And chips, gravy and a scallop.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 29/06/2019 19:59

Potato fritters on a roll are so good. I think they might be called potato scallops or something like that in other parts of the UK.

Flapjackninja · 29/06/2019 20:00

Patties and chip spice but think chip spice is widely available now 🤔

Pieceofpurplesky · 29/06/2019 20:00

Cheshire cheese
Asparagus
Saffron
Cheshire 'pye' (like a pork pie)
Chester pudding (suet pudding with jam)
My mum talks about 'brawn' a rabbit stew

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 20:01

You don't get chip spice here, FlapjackNinja. I'll have to try it.

mawof3soontobe · 29/06/2019 20:01

Think we might be close to one another @PineappleSeahorse.

Tattie scones
Slice
Ayrshire tatties
Arran mustard, oatcakes etc

FionaJT · 29/06/2019 20:02

Easter biscuits, which must contain Oil of Cassia.

PineappleSeahorse · 29/06/2019 20:02

I forgot macaroon bars and can't remember the last time I had one but I want one now. I'm going to regret starting this thread.
