Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

Does your hospital have a minor injuries unit? He might have popped there if he thought he may have whiplash?

Sodamncaughtinthemiddle · 07/06/2019 19:32

So worrying for you. Hope he is home soon

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:33

I've already called the non-emergency numbers for the two police departments that operate in this area and they didn't have anything captured. Though did say it might not be on their system yet, or if he had been taken into custody and not given consent to let me know, then they couldn't (unlikely be all sorts of scenarios running through my mind now).

No to the phone, and he has a Samsung and no app.

There wasn't any sign of him or the car when I took the same route home - no other car to drive round in, that one was mine. Am much less worried about the car at this stage, but wondering if it might be easier to track that down than track him...

If he did go to a&e could he have a flat battery waiting and he's now being seen - if it was minor he may have underestimated how long he would be at the hospital

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 19:34

Do you know he didn't come home for lunch and go out again?

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:34

Yes to Tesco Click and Collect - I called to cancel it, so it hasn't been picked up. He'd not go to Tesco to get the shopping while ignoring all my phones and texts. There's a phone charger in the car, so if it was still operational he'd let me know.

Eek, that is worrying. I hope you hear from him soon.

@Stickywhitelovepiss report him as missing to the police and explain all the circs, they will ring bedboard which will not jut check A&E but will check he’s not an inpatient somewhere, they will also check custody to see if he is there (not saying he is, but it’s worth a check)

Does he have an IPhone? Can you see where he is on find my iPhone ap?

Thursday4567852 · 07/06/2019 19:36

If you report him missing essentially they will tell you in a roundabout way that he is in custody, ie not to worry he’s safe but they can’t tell you anymore....

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 07/06/2019 19:36

He’d have called you if he’d gone to hospital, though. Why would he call his work and not you?

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:36

Maybe he thinks he's in trouble (which he would be!) and gone on a bender?? Or been arrested and not given them my details?? Or wrecked the car and is hiding in the woods somewhere too scared to come home??

All out of character, but all sorts going through my head now.

Hand hold from me too. Is his phone ringing out or going to voicemail?

Is there anyone who could come and sit with you? I know it might seem like an over reaction but time is moving on and the later it gets the more worried you'll be if you don't hear from him and the later it gets the harder it might be for someone to come and sit with you.

Can you post on a local Facebook group asking of anyone has seen your car in a car accident today. People like to help.

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 19:37

Why woukd he be in trouble

IVEgottheDECAF · 07/06/2019 19:38

How worrying!

Hope he turns up soon op

ReanimatedSGB · 07/06/2019 19:38

Hope he turns up soon with a good explanation, OP. If he was shaken up or concussed it's possible he's lost track of the time (easier to do when the evenings stay lighter) and doesn't realise how long he's been waiting for eg someone to come and tow the car.

MrsDilligaf · 07/06/2019 19:38

A hand hold for you (and a hug x) and I hope he's back home very soon.

Did his workplace have no further info?

stucknoue · 07/06/2019 19:38

However hard it is to think this way, is he depressed, anxious, acted oddly? Is your bank account joint - has he withdrawn money or used his debit card?

That said my h would never bother telling me he was late one reason he's no longer dh! It's whether it out of character that matters

Bluerussian · 07/06/2019 19:39

It's possible he is being checked over somewhere (takes a while for hospitals to get all details online), and his phone battery is flat.

I do hope you hear something positive very soon. Please let us know. In the meantime, hand hold.

WhyDoIAlways · 07/06/2019 19:39

Any chance he could be lying and has actually bunked off work?

YouJustDoYou · 07/06/2019 19:39

The police have no record of an accident, so deducing from that if he has been in a so called accident it wasn't severe, at least.

SolitudeAtAltitude · 07/06/2019 19:40

Call the insurance again, to see if he reported an accident?

Jent13c · 07/06/2019 19:40

If you have log in details you dont need an app for Samsung..its just find my samsung on Google. You'll need to log in with his number/password or his email address

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 07/06/2019 19:40

Has he got a favourite garage he’d go to if he’d wrecked your car?

Can you check bank statements for recent transactions?

His local/favourite pub?

Juanbablo · 07/06/2019 19:40

How strange, I suppose there are several possibilities but I hope he turns up soon!
