Hand hold: DH missing after "accident"

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:20

I know it's not been long, but this is really out of character and not sure what to do next.

Rang my DH on his mobile to let him know what time I'd get in and he didn't answer - often happens so then call him on work line. His work said he'd called in on way back in after lunch saying he'd been in a car accident but was fine, and neither hide nor hair heard since. That's all I know - no indication of the severity of the accident or where he or my car (which he drives) have got to.

I've been trying him on his mobile countless times, called 101 to see if they've got him somewhere, also A&E - but no joy.

He's been off grid for about 5 hours now, when he'd normally have picked me up, got the Tesco and we'd be sitting starting our weekend. But not even a text to let me know he's not dead in a ditch, and I don't have that phone tracker either on this latest handset.

Starting to panic slightly - if anyone is around for a hand hold or some pointers as to how I can track him down that's would be much appreciated....

Hoping all sorts itself out, you must be worried sick 💐

Haggisfish · 07/06/2019 19:27

I’d also phone police.

GreenTulips · 07/06/2019 19:27

Did work say where he went
Can you try friends

SilverDapple · 07/06/2019 19:27

If his mobile is going straight to answering machine he is perhaps stuck somewhere trying to get the car sorted and unable to ring because his mobile battery is flat?

Reminds me I really must learn my DH's mobile number as I'd be stuffed in a similar situation! 😳

livin · 07/06/2019 19:28

Handholding from me too. Please call the police.

Betsy86 · 07/06/2019 19:28

Hope he walks through the door soon op xx
He called in to work at lunch would he of needed to go back there again later to clock out or anything? Was he on a job somewhere or finished for the day?x

ReganSomerset · 07/06/2019 19:28

I'm sure there's a simple explanation, OP. If he called work to let them know he can't be hurt that badly. Have you got a find my phone app you could use?

springgreensunshine · 07/06/2019 19:28

He's maybe sat somewhere waiting for a breakdown truck. Men are usually low priority for being rescued, anyone with young children or women on their own are usually picked up first.
What a worry though, I hope you have news soon

Stickywhitelovepiss · 07/06/2019 19:28

Am amazed by all the responses - thank you!

He normally goes home for lunch (works a short drive away), so accident could only have been on the same route I went home, and certainly not at speed. Nothing out of the norm on the road when I took an uber back seeing as I couldn't get in touch with him.

He has no parents or friends nearby he'd go to at all - we're quite self-contained in this area at least. His work will have gone home now, but asked me to let them know once I'd tracked him down as well, so no more the wiser than I am...

I've called A&E but looking at more nearby hospitals now.

Oh you poor thing, you must be so worried.

Have you phoned his work again? If no luck, I'd try the police next. Thanks

ThePhoenixRises · 07/06/2019 19:29

Check local online news for that area and check Twitter if you have a rough idea of where he would of been.

Bluetrews25 · 07/06/2019 19:29

Oh gosh how scary for you.
If he had been taken to hospital seriously hurt you would have been called. Work said he was ok after the accident, so it may be he's stuck in a big long queue to be seen and sorted in A&E with something minor.
Any chance he has fibbed to work and is skiving off?
Hope you get some reassuring news soon.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 07/06/2019 19:29

Agree with pp, it's possible he's waiting for roadside assistance and his phone is dead. Hope you hear soon

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 19:30

So he's not had an accident on the way back. That's good.

lololove · 07/06/2019 19:30

Does he have WhatsApp? What time what he last active? Or find my phone activated if it's on his?

Really hope he get in touch soon

freshstartnewme · 07/06/2019 19:30

Hope you find him soon OP, what did the police recommend?

StealthPolarBear · 07/06/2019 19:30

You say you're self contained but do you have a friend who can come and help you? You shouldn't be stressing alone.

WeeDangerousSpike · 07/06/2019 19:30

Oh gosh, how frightening for you!

Could you phone his work again and ask to speak to the person who spoke to him, find out exactly what they said and if there's any clue to where the accident was or where he was going / how he was planning on getting back to work?

Do you know what he usually does if he goes out at lunchtime? Do you have a friend with a car that could have a drive around and see if they can spot the car/him?

I'd phone the police and report him missing. (I know it's only a few hours, but you know he's been in an accident, and he didn't make it back to work when he had called and said he was on his way)

Ring any of his friends you know to see if they've heard from him since lunchtime?

That's all I can think of. I hope you track him down soon Flowers

mamaoffourdc · 07/06/2019 19:31

Sending a huge hand hold x

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 07/06/2019 19:31

Would he normally be home by now?

twitterbird · 07/06/2019 19:31

What part of the country are you in OP

simplekindoflife · 07/06/2019 19:31

Do you drive? Or know some that does? Could you drive around his usual route?

Ginlinessisnexttogodliness · 07/06/2019 19:31

Another hand hold.
Hope he’s safe and home very soon

LuluBellaBlue · 07/06/2019 19:31

This does seem strange and I’d be worried too. Really hope everything turns out ok Flowers

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 07/06/2019 19:31

Is it a Click & Collect Tesco order? Can you see if it’s been picked up?
