I'm sick of shaving

I'm sick of being 28 years old and having to shave twice a day

I'm aching. I have to wear inches of makeup to cover my stubble

I'm all bumpy and rashy, and disgusting

Can someone please just recommend the best Philips Lumea? Will it work? I'm confused at the entire range and my head is sore from trying to work out which will be the strongest for my mess of a face, neck, chin and sideburns

Have you been to the GP and had tests done for hormone issues etc?

Can you afford professional hair removal? IPL/Laser etc?

No idea about the Lumea sorry but I would imagine a professional treatment may be longer lasting.

My friend was like this she went to the doctors and he referred her for lazier treatment on the nhs. Have you spoke to your doctor?

Get to the doc and rule out hormonal issues.

Lumea has worked great on my legs and definitely reduced my tach. If your heart is dark and skin pale (it looks like it is) it will probably work. Not sure which model, but def get one with attachments for facial hair. Mine is not cordless and is fine.

But see your GP. Because this may need medical attention as it could be a sign of other hormonal stuff that’s affecting your body in other ways.

I'm sorry to hear you sounding so distressed. I've had awful peri oral dermatitis for the last 6 months and it does really make you self conscious as well as sore.

Are there any more GP's in your surgery so you could try a different one? Or perhaps the practice nurse may be more understanding? Express how badly it's affecting your mental health.

I had similar. After 2 months of lumea I still have hair, but all the little dark follicles have gone, all the rashes and bumps have gone and what comes through is much finer. I still shave but I am currently peering at my chin and can't see a single dark dot.

Have a look on groupon. My friend had very similar facial hair and she got a deal on groupin and it’s changed her completely

School holidays soon, so, if you can let it grown just a bit, then maybe an epilators will work? It hurts, but, I think you will have a will of iron regarding this so that's no issue.

Lumea is really good. But I would go back to a different doctor first if you can

Also consider electrolysis rather than laser. To have the whole treatment will cost more than laser but it is permanent, and you pay out in smaller amounts as they do a small area at a time.

I bought one last week and have done one treatment so far. It was easy to use. Obviously haven't got any results yet from it. But others have.

I got the Costco £194 one that was on offer but is put o 248 now. It's the lumea advanced and came with face attachment.

Lazer does help. Best done by dermatologist rather than salon. There lazer is much stronger. I've done a bit of electrolysis too. Hurts a lot on tache but okish on beard. You do need to keep having appointments after. Probably a couple x a year. And no sun at all. So ideally a winter activity.

I’d say there must be hormone issues to have that much hair. You need to talk to a different GP for a second opinion and insist on blood tests. I’ve found that male GPs and GPs who weren’t trained in the UK tend to be more dismissive of issues that are “merely” cosmetic, so perhaps choose a different GP who will be sympathetic.

The cream might not work.. Pay the money to a clinic for lazer hair removal rather than buying a home machine.

I would also see another GP if the first one was unsympathetic.

Oh god you poor thing. I also suffer with chin, lip, and neck hair and just generally pretty hairy, though admittedly not so bad as yours. I really do feel for you.

My lumea has worked wonders for me. I bought the basic one over a year ago for £300 but I know the price has come down now. I started with my underarms and have now done my bikini line and legs. I have very dark hair and pale skin so was the ideal candidate.
