You won’t believe what happened at a wedding last night

Blush (no I’m not the guest in question)

Evening guests turned up at 7pm. Around 8pm bride and groom decided to cut the cake. Only to find cake had already been cut by a hungry guest ShockShockShock

Cake in question was a three tiered cake made of different cheeses. Surrounded by grapes and crackers/biscuits. No little bride and groom on top.

An absolute war broke out about it. Half the people saying well, how were they supposed to know it was the cake, other half saying it was pretty obvious.

Cake was in a separate room to the bar and dance floor. Bride in tears (or tiers boom boom).

Around three or four people had taken some of the cake by the time they realised!

They ought to have been watching it more Caerphilly.

nevergonnagiveyouup · 01/01/2019 21:38

I bet it was a man. How dairy!

VamillaSugar · 01/01/2019 21:40

Was the cake a cheese round or a cheese triangle?

@bellabelly I can’t stop laughing at cheeses Christ!! I used to call Jesus “baby cheeses” when I was a little one!

missmouse101 · 01/01/2019 21:44

They could get married again to make up for it; book the Stinking Bishop again perhaps?

DadDadDad · 01/01/2019 21:45

Groom's thinking: "Every anniversary, I'm a-gonna gather everyone round and emmenthal this story again!" Smile

Dimsumlosesum · 01/01/2019 21:47

Wtf, it's a chuffing cheese wheel...that's no wedding cake, how were they supposed to know? Grin

justgivemewine · 01/01/2019 21:56

Thanks you lot, just spat wine everywhere especially at Sweet Babies Cheeses

BunnyCake · 01/01/2019 21:58

Ha ha at watching it more Caerphilly. Grin

BunnyCake · 01/01/2019 22:00

Yes if it was like Cake1 I can understand people not realising

Yambabe · 01/01/2019 22:00

I made one of those for our wedding Blush

We did have a "normal" cake as well, but I loved my cheese cake even if it was a bit wonky.....

(The little labels were so I didn't have to keep telling people what each cheese was!)

My DS and his wife had tiered cheese as a cake at their wedding, as she never really liked "cake". In the city they live in, Pittsburgh PA, the tradition is for all of the women in the families to provide cookies (biscuits?) and load down a cookie table with their best. I took DS's most loved varieties on the plane from Florida. They had dozens of varieties, and I don't think she ever formally cut the cheese wheel "cake". It was with a table of savory snacks near the beer kegs, and it was cut into and enjoyed.

Yambabe · 01/01/2019 22:03

Oh it did attach ffs. reported myself, nobody needs to see my wonky cheese tower twice!

visitorthedog · 01/01/2019 22:05

She could have been more Mature about it.

Begrateful · 01/01/2019 22:06

Although it was distedpectful of the guest, I don't think it was intentional. The bride crying seems abit dramatic over such a trivial matter. This did make me chuckle though.😂🤣😂

maddiemookins16mum · 01/01/2019 22:07

I bet the guest feta right fool.

DadDadDad · 01/01/2019 22:07

jq28 · 01/01/2019 22:09

That's hilarious!

DadDadDad · 01/01/2019 22:10

Punning aside, am I the only one who felt a bit peckish reading this thread, and had to make a detour to the fridge for some cheese?

NewYearHell · 01/01/2019 22:10

I'vw been to a wedding with one of those, utterly brilliant. The couple at that wedding though would have found it hilarious.

It is pretty funny.
