Please help me (so hungover)

Work Christmas lunch yesterday. Ended up a highly boozy affair. Got home about 1am. Threw up (tidily). Threw up again this morning and now I can’t get out of bed. Every time I sit or stand I want to be sick. My head is splitting.

I have two under-fours. This is my first night out in a long long time. DH took them out for Christmassy things this morning and I am gutted that I couldn’t be there. I just couldn’t. They are heading back now and I need to get up and help.

Please help. Someone out there must have a hangover cure.

Well I hope she stayed in bed and slept, recovered and just did nothing all day! She's aloud a day to die in bed after all the other thousand of days shes probably being a great mum. Let the man do it, its only a day!

And at least it wasn't Christmas day

@SlowNorris shut the fuck up😂 I know when I have children I certainly won't drink to excess and be unable to care for them the next day. Common sense? It's alright for some parents who are lazy.

Hello I’m here. I am alive. We made it to bedtime and the girls were mercifully cooperative. We got a McDonald’s for tea and I fell asleep on the couch. So now I’m cross that I have lost my whole evening as well and done nothing productive, but what can you do...

Charcoal tablets or Buccastem are best for sickness IME. The weird head is only really sorted with sleep because alcohol stops the brain from going through the usual sleep cycle so you're basically not rested at all. I empathise completely OP.

Ihatehoney is smashing her way through a crate or blue WKDs as we speak. It’s not our fault no one turned up to celebrate your birthday with you.

Don’t worry, OP. Christmas is made for lounging and doing nothing with your days You’ll have a great appetite and lots of energy tomorrow.

Ah you are entitled to go off and have a bit of fun! My mum got so drunk at a Christmas party once that the next morning she forgot it was my sister's birthday, we laugh about it now!
You haven't messed up their Christmas and you've given them some precious time alone with daddy.

I couldn't reply yesterday as I had the most horrendous hangover myself.
Friday was the most stressful day off my life, and I opened a bottle of white wine, I have not had alcohol for I don't know how long, I hadn't eaten either, woke up yesterday at 4am with a headache and took some pills, didn't sleep well and woke properly at 6am laying in bed wasn't that bad, got up to go to work and the drive in was awful as I do wanted DH to pull over so I could be sick, I got to work and kept being sick, I then got on the floor behind the counter and used bubble wrap as a pillow, I was there until about 3pm when my son in law got me a preggo to eat, only then could I get up and serve customers. Got home and DH apologised as we had to go and do the Christmas shop, I survived it and was home and in bed by 8:30pm. DH saw to the kids and made dinner.
OP I really felt your pain yesterday.
And ihatehoney I think what people are trying to say to you is that we have ideals on the type of parents we want to be as I thought I was going to be like Mary Poppins instead I'm more like a Tasmanian devil, parenting is the one thing that is so unpredictable that no books or other people's life stories can prepare you for, and my one bit of advice to you is to never leave the catering size cooking oil where kids can get to it.

It seems ihatehoney and I share birthday, if not an outlook on life.

Needless to say, I was as irresponsible re alcohol on my 20th birthday as I was on my 34th.

Fortunately my kids were in the care of their grandparents and the education system throughout the day and emerged unscathed by my drunken loutishness. Phew!

My existential crisis arrived today. My fear is awful.
