Hi Boden! Going off subject, what does miniB make of 'Paparazzi'? My DD also loves Lady Gaga, but can't stand that track - has hated it from the first time she heard it.

I don't encourage kiddie music so she has quite eclectic tastes for a 6 yo - loves Rihanna and is quite partial to a bit of Eminem if I can find anything reasonably tame or with unintelligible lyrics!

Re. fanfic - any Lucas ones? I've never read fanfic before our very own author extraordinnaire but am intrigued now :) Not sure about the idea of RA fanfic though

Before there is any misunderstanding can I just say that when I say there are RA fics on Wattpad I mean there are fics featuring RA characters - not the man himself, heavens forbid!!

Oh, you lovelies there is stacks of RA-character fanfics around the place, including plenty of Lucas ones, indeed!! Many (but by no means all) will have you running for a cold shower.

You misrepresent me, Theresa. One's thoughts are one's thoughts. My reservations are about broadcasting those thoughts when they are about a real person who may not welcome the intrusion. So I am not bothered in the least by the notion of Guy fan fic (although I have no interest in reading it and will rely on you to report back to us) but would find the idea of Mr Armitage fan fic rather troubling. Not for the first time, I would think poor man.

But hey, I'm a mad old bat with a crush on a 190 year old fictional man. What do I know?

Just before I drop off - what exactly is fanfic? Where do I find some? And do I want to?

I bet Lucas is very difficult to write. In what I've seen so far he is such an enigma.

May be Guy is too. In this thing I'm reading he isn't totally right to me, but I suppose everyone's take on a RA character is different. However, you do at least have more of an idea what's going on inside of Guy.

Maybe it's best to make up our own characters, inspired by the others.

Fanfic = fan fiction. Stories written by fans about characters created by others. You can find it for most popular TV series/movies/books etc.

Fanfic is fiction written by fans of a particular character or TV show or practically anything, including Jane Austen novels.

Maybe google would locate some, I haven't looked properly , as I am too busy enjoying this thread.

Flowers, all ogling is perpetrated on fictional beings, have no fear. I am sure we are quite clear in our heads about whom we are thinking. If I have confused you, I do apologise.

The thing about fanfic is that there is likely to be a receptive audience for your work, and the character development is there for you to build on.

Obviously I wouldn't be able to stop myself, Flowers. But I'd try to make sure he didn't notice before I gawped.

Personally, I would turn back, gaze in awe at the Proper Actor who brought Mr Thornton onto my telly screen and then walk into a lamppost.

There are plenty fanfic sites about. I think there is some Spooks and North and South fanfic on fanfiction.net. Also Wattpad as I mentioned.

There is a lot of RA related fics on Livejournal too, if you look around. But I'm afraid that much of the best RA stuff is hidden away in fan forums that you have to join or be invited to join.
