...and the other one, of course, LeQ, is Mr Rochester - yummy!

As to your question Fettle - work was going considerably better before a certain member of the academy bought Lovelace into the conversation - am still wibbling!!!

MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 11:48

I wonder if he can do good Irish accent? Can't think of any particular roles, but I don't think I'd ever recover Grin.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 11:51

Ah LeQueen, the very person. I was watching the extras from the Spooks* DVDs on the PC, which is a more intimate experience than half way across the room on the telly, and I couldn't help noticing that Lucas North was seriously in need of a manicure. The same goes for Guy, I once witnessed even ground in dirt but I expect you must expect that given his rough life-style.

Any chance you might volunteer to sort him/them out?

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 15/11/2010 11:54

Fettle, I agree with Theresa. Life is full of serious stuff which we grapple with every day and I'm guessing that you and MrFettle (who I like to think of as ColonelFettle, so just humour me) grapple with some more than averagely serious stuff.

I felt a fraud joining Cupcakes' (dear dear Cupcakes) original thread because although I've been hooked on Spooks from the get go I've never felt the urge to, ahem, get to know Lucas (or Tom or Adam) any better. But I stayed because things have been a tad grim recently and these threads have been a welcome distraction and, above all, they've been so funny. I often can be found in the evening snorting the cooking sherry over the keyboard, much to SmallBloke's bemusement. (He is very tolerant, to the extent that he gives live readings of A Certain Book on request).

But if you're determined to go I won't try to force you to stay against your will. The question is, though, will you turn back and look at us?

I had wondered about Rochester and Heathcliffe. But a recent re-reading of Wuthering Heights made me think that Heathcliffe is actually too much of a bully to be truly appealing - what seems thrilling in one's teens can be tedious in later life, I find - and there's already Sparkhouse. We've quite recently had the rather delicious Toby Stephens as Rochester. Is it too soon for a remake?

If Guy-Lucas is going to have a manicure then presumably we are looking for somewhat more New Man roles for him?

Characters are always better looking in movies than they are in real life, though, Flowers. And both of them had buckets of charisma and beaucoups de ladies, so they must have had a similar WMD quality.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 15/11/2010 12:22

Ha! Theresa, I had deleted the word metrosexual from my post. And I suppose that if you want Guy (in the words of that fine Minstrelle and Player of Ye Lute Madonna) to rub his hands all over your body, you would prefer them not to be filthy and ragged. Is Rouge Noir still au courant?

He just told Marian

Without you, I no longer feel quite whole. We should be spending more time together.

STOP PRESS

If anyone still hasn't got N&S, after all this, hie them to Amazon where it is top of the list of under £5 DVDs

MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 12:28

indeed, Flowers.

Wasn't planning on getting any more RH from the library but...

Which season/episode is that from???

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 12:28

''if you want Guy ... to rub his hands all over your body''

How could I make him do that, poor sweet, it would really ruin his day! But I wouldn't refuse a nice dose of Hot Breath.

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 12:43

Welcome back, Fettle - you can check out any time you like but you can never leave :)

Flowers, sorry to hear things have been grim :( I totally agree on how funny these threads are - has really been making my day lately and breaking the monotony of the housewife routine :) How lovely of your DH to read to you!!

Fettle · 15/11/2010 12:47

Well you're all pretty persuasive shame you can't try it in RL on a certain actor!

I'm back and I certainly did That's why I am back!!Grin

I find this thread is a breath of fresh air and also very imformative - I had to look up the word "esoteric" this morning, as I wasn't sure what it meant! So I'm learning something very important from this thread!!

By the way, while idling passing the time thinking of our esteemed subject noone in particular, I stumbled across news that there is to be a remake of The Great Gatsby next year - directed by Baz Luhrman. Leonardo Dicaprio is rumoured to be in the lead unfortunately - but wasn't that one role you were considering good for Mr A?!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 12:47

On second thoughts, Flowers.

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 12:49

Ewwwwww, he can't possibly be Gatsby! I have a liking problem with him (and yes, we did think Gatsby might be good for RA).

Is N&S worth reading (as opposed to watching)?

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 12:49

Sparkhouse is only £3.97 on amazon as well (N&S is £3.49).

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 12:53

We need to have words with Messers Lurhman and di Caprio.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 12:56

N&S is delicious in novel form, Boden. You can imagine him saying all the extra bits, if you have downloaded the RA voice replicator app to your brain as I seem to have done.

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 12:57

Will add that to the Santa list then, thanks Theresa!

Don't tell me that, Boden - am already trying to resist buying Spooks Series 7!!!

MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 13:05

How's your DD doing btw - mine seems to have perked up considerably - quelle surprise!

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 13:11

DD is fine thanks - she moaned about having to go to Asda but is now running around the kitchen with her brother so I think she's ok :) How's MissLN?
