The twaddle continues ......

OP posts:
ASmallBunchofFlowers · 14/11/2010 23:44

Very metrosexual.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 14/11/2010 23:49

Men wore high heels in those days too.
And full makeup, never mind just a touch of Guyliner.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 14/11/2010 23:52

Again, the prospect of challenging jobs in the make-up department, sticking beauty spots onto Charles' or Louis' granite jaw.

OP posts:
ASmallBunchofFlowers · 14/11/2010 23:53

6' 2" plus high heels? The leading ladies would need to borrow Alan Ladd's orange box.

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 14/11/2010 23:58

Hmm I think the beauty spots and make-up might have been more Louis XV, on second thoughts. So more Lovelace than the king cousins. Sorry.

Huzzah! I know why the Bad to the Bone vid wasn't loading earlier --everyone in the world was watching it! I have set it going now under this so I can have a poper look when it's all loaded.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 00:01

Well Charles and Louis were six-footers, you know, so the look would be authentic. Dark hair too, and dark eyes. Shame to use contacts though to cover up those baby blues

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 15/11/2010 00:01

Do you think anyone reads this twaddle apart from the regular and occasional twaddlers learned contributors to academic discourse? Or is MN doing to YT what the end of Coronation Street does to the national grid?

OP posts:
ASmallBunchofFlowers · 15/11/2010 00:07

Do enjoy Bad to the Bone, Theresa. I know you will.

I think I have added far more than my fair share of twaddle intellectual commentary here today so will bid you good night. Perhaps I can persuade SmallBloke to read to me from Mrs Gaskell's Great Book.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 00:12

Good night Friend.!

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 07:20

Oh, I loved that photo I sent! Very odd posing, I agree - but just look at him, people!

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 07:37

MrsLN, how was your & DD's night?

MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 08:00

Bit grotty. Up til about 10.45, then up again at half 3 then about half 5. Am still dispatching her to school this morning though. She's ok in herself apart from a bit of a cough, but as soon as she lies down she gets snotty - had a kind of half awake night terror as well which didn't help.
How's your little one, has she hot a cold too?

StripeyMoon · 15/11/2010 08:03

Morning all, hope you are all well rested and had sweet dreams.

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 08:23

Have you tried Karvol plug-ins, MrsLN? They alawys work a treat for us. My DD is fine, I think - says she feels sick and "reeeeeeeeeeally ill" so I said she can stay home but now she is currently running round and round the kitchen

I need to let SIL know what the kids would like for Xmas - wonder if they would like a Strikeback DVD? :)

MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 08:57

Can you get a DVD of CBeebies bedtime stories, Boden?

DD is v. under the weather so she is staying home after all (she's 6 - how old's yours?), but I only work round the corner so have popped in and picked up some stuff I can get on with at home - that'll be an interesting test of willpower & concentration Grin.

Might try the Karvol, but tbh usually hang a small damp towel over the radiator with a few drops of Olbas on which humidifies the room too - need to go and out and get some Olbas though!

MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 08:58

Have just found out that The Hobbit is due to start filming in February, but they haven't finalised where yet.

I believe Scotland is a possibility if they can't sort out the problems in New Zealand - I feel a trip to my brother-in-law's coming on!

Bodenbabe · 15/11/2010 09:14

DS has just got into the bedtime stories actually. Now to surreptitiously get him into the books that RA reads and then I can innocently say to DH "oh look, there is a CBeebies version of that book that DS loves - maybe we should download it?" :)

My DD is 7, btw. Hope your DD is ok today.

Think I will re-read The Hobbit, keeping an eye out for Thorin. Will let you know if there is any hot dwarf action that I've forgotten :o

StripeyMoon · 15/11/2010 09:20

Karvol plug ins in our house too. we always had the karvol capsules on a tisuue when we were little. My two are 3 and 6 and I'm waiting for the proper illness to come, we've only had mild colds so far .

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 15/11/2010 09:23

Morning all.

Those of you with sick children should stop dithering and get them to a sympathetic doctor immediately.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 09:31

If only, Flowers...

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 15/11/2010 09:34

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a busy morning. First appointment is getting hot and steamy with Guy over the ironing board.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 15/11/2010 10:16

Boden - PMSL at 'hot dwarf action', although I am now tempted to read the Hobbit - I think DH will defintely realise something is up if he catches me with that tome in my hot little hands though!

I know it's quite pathetic but I suppose the upside of The Hobbit is there's not likely to be an abundance of uber-attractive actresses on set.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 15/11/2010 10:19

My very best wishes to the sick Dc's too, and shots of Polish Cordial for the mums. As this only virtual alcohol, there is no danger of being arrested on a Child-minding While Drunk charge.

If anyone pops in, I have a query about Clarissa (yes, I was obliged to listen to it agan last night for cheap thrills- research purposes) Pretty strong stuff for Radio 4 audiences, I should have thought.

Does anyone know what time of day it was broadcast?
If it was a night-time slot, I can imagine the disquiet when thousands of ladies acorss the country spat out their Horlicks onto their fluffy dressing gowns at the immortal words All...... Mine

StripeyMoon · 15/11/2010 10:19

I doubt we would ever be able to get an appointment if he was the doctor at my surgery

StripeyMoon · 15/11/2010 10:21

I have just downloaded it Theresa, I am goignt o try and get it on the phone so I can listen tonight instead of DH snoring.
