The twaddle continues ......

We have many such odd fixations in this academy, Adela, as you must know if you have been reading for any length of time. So by all means...

Bodenbabe · 13/11/2010 14:45

Hi to our new students, Heaven & Adela! I hope you have come prepared to study hard - we take our work very seriously here.

Adela, not done that but I did entertain myself my imagining a nice little story, (MrsLN, you have a lot to answer for :) ) at MiniBoden's school disco the other night! Well I was sat there in the dark, waiting for her, with nothing to do for 1.5 hours, so one's mind does tend to wander... the thing is, one of the teachers isn't a far cry from resembling RA - probably a bloomin' good job he wasn't there :o

StripeyMoon · 13/11/2010 14:51

Downloading is easy, you just connect to iTunes and search what you want and press download. Although I have an iPhone, suspect you need I tunes on your computer and thenyou sync your iPod with it and hey presto. Clear? Grin

Bodenbabe · 13/11/2010 15:27

Thanks, Stripers!

Fettle · 13/11/2010 15:54

DS needs me [damn] but I've had a brief skim.

Hello freshers! Hope you enjoy the course

MrsLN fab chapter as ever. Have to admit to a stab of jealousy at you having sole rights over your creative creation! How mad is that?!Grin. Me obsessed? Never!!!

Thanks for the link. Still can't watch the one of deep discussion but I'm definitely of the opinion that Lucas is the man for me. Til I've watched strike back and N&S!!!

Right best get back to actually looking after my DC!Grin

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 16:01

But fair's fair, Lucas is scrummy

Bodenbabe · 13/11/2010 16:07

I know who he should play!!! Why did I not think of this earlier?! Rupert Cambell-Black!!

Fettle · 13/11/2010 17:02

Mmmm thanks Theresa

Not so sure about Rupert Campbell black - never struck me as dark or in fact very intelligent (or very nice!) which wouldn't do our study subject much justice. Of course with my literary wasteland of an education, I can only think of Darwin or EinsteinHmm neither of whom conjure up sexiness really!Hmm

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 17:07
Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 17:11

''dreamy wistful thoughts of peaches in leather''

I gotta hot date with some in about an hour, Fettle, lucky me!

As for Rupert C-B maybe we should make his character over completely, then, so he's a bit more Guy TN

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 17:24

Darwin wasn't a very nice men either IIRC. Now the captain of the Beagle, Captain Robert Fitzroy, was an interesting sort of chap, very intense and driven. The only trouble is there could be few ladies in the mix. maybe when they put in at the Azores or somewhere.

There is a novel about them This Thing of Darkness by Harry Thompson that I enjoyed. This could be the movie of the book . Floppy white shirts would be includable and many bare-chested and wet scenes as ablutions were performed on deck with a bucket of sea-water, But as I say, little scope for boo-dwarr romps.Maybe there could be dream sequences or something as he lies tossing in his hammock.

Einstein always reminds me of Woody Allen for some reason

MrsLucasNorth · 13/11/2010 17:31

Guy Thornton North is actually not a complete tart though. He is merely misunderstood, as you will see when our tale reaches it's climax!

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 13/11/2010 17:40

Bodenbabe - You have articulated exactly what I feel about Puerile Lucas and the speedos. Seems to me that the power of suggestion is more, ahem, interesting than having things displayed in graphic detail.

Hello, Adela. Sadly (or not) it's years since I heard Wind The Bobbin Up. But I know who I'd like to give me a stern lecture on The Responsibility of the Employer Towards His Employees. If he got very agitated, I might feel his hot breath on my neck.

Theresa - I knew you'd peek, which is why I was careful to choose one of his more soothing appearances.

Right, duty calls. Back later.

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 13/11/2010 18:20

Err. Isn't Rupert Campbell Black taken from the bonkbuster oeuvre of Miss Jolly Sooper? I'm not sure that that will give us the intensity of characterization and complexity of plot that would permit serious intellectual critique in the institute. On the other hand, I suppose there would be some hope of a cravat or stock.

I have no idea who RCB is Confused.

Anyway, Im still busy with my 'etchings' -at least until Mrs LN gets to her chapter....

StripeyMoon · 13/11/2010 18:59

It's an extensive portfolio of talent that I need to show Guy Wink

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 19:12

RH tonight...
Well, that was pretty intense.
You all remember the ''Don't you speak to me'' imperative from Obsession

Poor old Guy still being given the runaround by Marion.

Even the sheriff gave him a belt across the face.

'snot fair

Bodenbabe · 13/11/2010 19:26

Well yes it's not classic literature by any means but he would just be such a good RCB. Rupert is a real womanizer, very naughty and is your archetypal badboy - but he has a heart. Anyway, give a girl a break, it's the only chick-lit I've read, ever :)

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 19:30

Tell us about some of his escapades, then, Boden, see if you can't whet our appetites.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 19:38

Meanwhile, no need to wait for that Santander advert to come on TV, here it is for you

Bodenbabe · 13/11/2010 19:55

From some blurb, will be back later, after food, Prosecco & Spooks, hopefully (though have made the poor man watch it every evening for the last fortnight)...

"We learned all about sex through the fictional antics of a man called Rupert Cambell-Black, a long-running character of Cooper?s - surely the sexiest and most desired protagonist on the planet - and his ever-changing female leads. This was until he met and married the saintly Taggie, of course, and settled into a life of monogamous bliss as the reformed rake became the perfect husband. Then we learnt that when it?s good, marriage is really good, and thus should be fought for and preserved at all costs."

Fettle · 13/11/2010 19:57

Pass the cordial (it is Saturday night afterall) - while watching Matt baker on strictly doing the rumba. I just can't get the thought of doing the rumba with mr armitage! Forget the argentine tango (could do that as warm up!!Grin). Mmmmmmmm >>

Fettle · 13/11/2010 19:59

Oh yes. He turned out alright didn't he?! Married the not stick-thin rake curvy taggy! I'd be perfect as herGrin

Returns to position on floor awaiting resuscitation

Theresaholeinyourmind · 13/11/2010 20:20

Well, it looks as if Guy TN is going to give Rupert a run for his money at this rate. Perhaps we'd just get Mrs LN to write it up again as a screenplay.

I am doing some research in the YT basement again, while you ladies are busy. I think I have found somebody who is not called John. We saw some stills recently IIRC.

Behold

But wait! The leather is mighty fine. And swoon, I have a jacket like that

RA and Martin Shaw. Can't be bad. Or can it?
