My sibling is a celebrity AMA

I won’t be saying who they are.

I recently spoke to a friend about it who
had lots of questions which lead to an interesting conversation, things I’d never said or thought about before.

When I was younger I used to feel incredibly jealous of them and had a very short and unsuccessful attempt at creating my own fame.

Now I’m older with my own dc and have seen the effects up close I definitely think the negatives out way the positives and it’s not something I would ever want for my children.

Haha I don't see her name on that list!

She did have an almighty falling out with the poor soul who is top of that list (late of this parish). It was over a job that neither of them got anyway (an X Factor gig, not the main event though, another spin off...went to Sarah-Jane Crawford in the end). CF was the bigger name obviously and was every much in the running for it, then said personality in question put her hat into the ring too to try and get the gig (well at the advice of her management I guess). But it absolutely wrecked their friendship...

I still can’t get it! Don’t know if you saw my previous post asking g if you’d mind PM’ing me the name?!

Sure, by some people. I’m very aware that celebs are real people who have good and bad days and could have all sorts going on in their lives. I would only judge someone when l have seen or heard of repeated nasty behaviour with proof.

Yes, that's fair enough.
Your sibling was certainly unpleasant about getting in that car.

Sarah Cox?

Nope.

Yes, I won’t say what but nothing major and I haven’t hugely enjoy it. It’s a lot of fuss, stress, pressure and fakeness but then I don’t love big non celebrity events. There’s been some smaller things which I have enjoyed though especially where my sibling has had more involvement and there are others that I know there.
People are different on and off camera but most are careful because they’re still in public. I have heard some stories of what goes on backstage/in dressing rooms/ toilets though that people would be shocked by.

Oh do tell! Obviously without giving away any names......

DurinsBane · 17/08/2026 17:38

How did you feel with how they were represented on ‘I’m a celebrity’?

zedtree · 17/08/2026 17:39

JollyCoralSeal · 17/08/2026 14:51

Is there anything you wish the general public knew about what it is like to have a celebrity sibling?

I wish people were more appreciative of celebrities being real people with families and often children not just characters they see on tv or in magazines. That unless you’ve met and spent time with someone, you don’t know them. I think people should show more empathy and kindness generally in life or at least not say things online that they wouldn’t be prepared to say in real life to someone’s face.

This whole thread is here so people can find out...

This thread is so the general public can ask questions and find out what they, the general public, want to know.

My question was what does the OP want the general public to know.

I would suggest that's a courtesy that should be extended to everyone. Not just celebrities.

Menohaze · 17/08/2026 17:42

Love this thread, very interesting (well, the op and people asking genuine questions) glad you're ignoring the crap in between op and you've not given any clues as to your Sibling. Do you think your sibling will continue in the field they are in? How will they cope if it all comes to an end, any back up plan? You sound very level headed, I've know famous people and I would hate being famous - difficult enough just knowing them!

EvieBB · 17/08/2026 17:38

Obviously there’s drink, drugs, rudeness and big egos.
I once witnessed a seemingly really lovely celeb have a complete temper tantrum at a poor security guard at an event because they were being expected to walk up about 6 steps, granted they were in a big dress and heels but they lost it even further and actually reported the security guard when they offered to carry them and then sulked and complained all night.
The most shocking to me has been the people I’ve heard have hooked up in dressing rooms/the toilets at events, people you 100% would never expect.

Page 3. OP won't say of course.

You don't know who it is any more than I do. Katie Price, who you seem obsessed with, wouldn't get the sort of work OP implies her sibling has.

Thank you for answering our questions. I admire your ability to not be derailed from the intended purpose of the thread or react to negative comments.

AnnaQuayRules · 17/08/2026 18:20

Do you ever wish your sibling wasn't a celebrity?
Do you and your other siblings ever discuss what it's like to have a famous sibling?

Yes, it doesn't sound like KP.

Thank you.
Thats probably one of the main positives I’ve gained from having my celebrity sibling, I learned to cope well with and ignore negativity, rudeness and lies and never feel the need to rise to the bait.

Not really, I feel that’s it’s so much of who they are and not just their job and I love them and wouldn’t wish for them to be different. They were also a very young adult and I was still a child when they became famous so I have no idea how or who they’d be without it.
I do wish certain aspects of it were different and that certain things had been dealt with differently though.

Yes we’ve spoken about it together and with our famous sibling.

I've just googled "AMA" and found out it meant "ask me anything".
I really had no idea.

However now that I know, the phrase was based on a show originally hosted by Angela Scanlon where Celebs are asked anything about their life.
The guests agree to answer all candid and unfiltered questions about their life no matter how difficult, embarrassing, or uncomfortable they may be.

Is this the game you are playing with us on MN, or have I got the "AMA" abbreviation completely wrong?

If I have not, and this is the game you are trying to play on MN, then the questions I have for you, and remember all questions must be answered truthfully are:

Why do you state that you won't name him/her?
Who is she/he?

Failure to answer either of these questions is a massive rule breach and you must answer immediately. 😂😂😂

A few years ago I worked with a woman who is a similar age to me, and it turned out that her older sister is a TV presenter and sort of lifestyle influencer (bit a big age gap, so not like your situation ). Food, interior design, all stuff adjacent to that. We hang out a little bit socially as well for a while, but we're not in contact now, and I work in a different area today anyway.

For the record, the sister is really nice. I have a lot of time for her, and she's genuinely great at what she does.

I met her big sister a few times. And oh my god, I've never met anyone so vapid, bitchy and grasping. A real superiority complex, but for no good reason really because she's sort of bang average. Her whole schtick is about being relatable yet cool, but it's a total veneer. The person she appears to be online and in the media is nothing like the person I encountered in real life.

She used to form a double act with another TV presenter / podcaster woman who is, I gather, quite nice, down to earth and genuine (I've heard from a few trusted sources) . Then they had a HUGE falling out over money and their enterprise all fell apart. But they said nothing, so lots of people were left wondering, what happened to those two who were everywhere between 2014 and 2018 (or whenever it was, can't quite remember now).

I also met another woman once who was an influencer and shared a manager with them, and had gone on the same press tour as them. She told me she thought they were basically an industry plant - a collaboration designed to further their own visibility rather than something that had happened organically. She described the horrible one as an emotional vampire, whereas the other, apparently, would just sit back and watch her show off.

Said presenter/ influencer also has a very successful husband in a creative field who is extremely well regarded and respected. I do sometimes wonder whether he helps her out and pushes her career, perhaps indirectly. He must know a lot of big names. I've met him a couple of times too, and he seemed nice enough, pretty sound, actually.

By now it's probably fairly obvious who I'm talking about. Oh well, may as well go for broke...

Perhaps the most annoying thing has to be that she's a "professional Northerner" (no one cares) - but yet lives... in London.

I’m being dense, but I cannot work out who you mean? Professional Northerner? and is she the horrible, bitchy one you’re talking about?

bitontheobtuse · 17/08/2026 19:18

A famous tv personality known for being a jolly chap in light entertainment was once served in a petrol station by a family member of mine. Apparently he gave off 'Do you know who I am?' vibes and got the right hump when it became clear that family member wasn't suitably starstruck.😁

If people on here met your sibling, would they know who he/she/they was?

quaintireneofrye · 17/08/2026 19:29

Have they appeared on Lorraine? Graham Norton?

Yes, I’m confident the vast majority of people living in the uk would.
