My sibling is a celebrity AMA

I won’t be saying who they are.

I recently spoke to a friend about it who
had lots of questions which lead to an interesting conversation, things I’d never said or thought about before.

When I was younger I used to feel incredibly jealous of them and had a very short and unsuccessful attempt at creating my own fame.

Now I’m older with my own dc and have seen the effects up close I definitely think the negatives out way the positives and it’s not something I would ever want for my children.

A few years ago I worked with a woman who is a similar age to me, and it turned out that her older sister is a TV presenter and sort of lifestyle influencer (bit a big age gap, so not like your situation ). Food, interior design, all stuff adjacent to that. We hang out a little bit socially as well for a while, but we're not in contact now, and I work in a different area today anyway.

For the record, the sister is really nice. I have a lot of time for her, and she's genuinely great at what she does.

I met her big sister a few times. And oh my god, I've never met anyone so vapid, bitchy and grasping. A real superiority complex, but for no good reason really because she's sort of bang average. Her whole schtick is about being relatable yet cool, but it's a total veneer. The person she appears to be online and in the media is nothing like the person I encountered in real life.

She used to form a double act with another TV presenter / podcaster woman who is, I gather, quite nice, down to earth and genuine (I've heard from a few trusted sources) . Then they had a HUGE falling out over money and their enterprise all fell apart. But they said nothing, so lots of people were left wondering, what happened to those two who were everywhere between 2014 and 2018 (or whenever it was, can't quite remember now).

I also met another woman once who was an influencer and shared a manager with them, and had gone on the same press tour as them. She told me she thought they were basically an industry plant - a collaboration designed to further their own visibility rather than something that had happened organically. She described the horrible one as an emotional vampire, whereas the other, apparently, would just sit back and watch her show off.

Said presenter/ influencer also has a very successful husband in a creative field who is extremely well regarded and respected. I do sometimes wonder whether he helps her out and pushes her career, perhaps indirectly. He must know a lot of big names. I've met him a couple of times too, and he seemed nice enough, pretty sound, actually.

By now it's probably fairly obvious who I'm talking about. Oh well, may as well go for broke...

Perhaps the most annoying thing has to be that she's a "professional Northerner" (no one cares) - but yet lives... in London.

Not obvious to me.i thought you meant Trinny and Susanah 🤣

Yes, a few people have asked before. I don’t know if they were guessing from name, appearance or personality.
I think name plays a big part though, I know someone with the surname Pitt who is always asked if they’re related to Brad Pitt despite being a different ethnicity.

Some years ago I once overheard the receptionist at work answering the phone to a customer. She asked their name and then said "What - the Paul Daniels?".

Yes, it was. 😂😂

Is there anything you wish the general public knew about what it is like to have a celebrity sibling?

This whole thread is here so people can find out...

zedtree · 17/08/2026 16:46

Chilihealer · 16/08/2026 20:48

Have you ever been to any big events/awards with them? If so which one? Did you enjoy it? Is it like watching on the telly or are all the celebs behind the cameras drunk going wild?

Yes, I won’t say what but nothing major and I haven’t hugely enjoy it. It’s a lot of fuss, stress, pressure and fakeness but then I don’t love big non celebrity events. There’s been some smaller things which I have enjoyed though especially where my sibling has had more involvement and there are others that I know there.
People are different on and off camera but most are careful because they’re still in public. I have heard some stories of what goes on backstage/in dressing rooms/ toilets though that people would be shocked by.

Loving this thread. 👏

My question is have you ever corrected people IRL who were telling untruths about your sibling?

In the past I would but not anymore, I will just shut the conversation down.

I'm not as sure as you are that the sibling is Katie Price. This person sounds too clued in to be KP

Well they could just deny it..... everything single thing OP has said fits 100% with KP. Literally everything.

My question is why she is doing this?...2-3 days now.

Rescuedog12 · 17/08/2026 16:42

Yeah, to be fair, I doubt she really makes the list. D-list at best, probably — but I'm not very good at judging these things. I don't watch much TV and I'm not particularly plugged into that world. My colleagues were going on about The Traitors for ages and I didn't even realise for a while that they were talking about a TV show. I had absolutely no idea what they were on about.

I do know she presented one of the Love Island after-hours spin-off shows. Her sister said at the time that she watched her on it and could tell that she really didn't like, or rather looked down on, the contestants. So I think she genuinely wants the work and the exposure that comes with it; she just doesn't seem to have much respect for the people she's interviewing etc.

'every single thing OP has said fits 100% with KP. Literally everything'

You must have been reading a different thread to me then.

DoubleShotEspresso · 17/08/2026 16:58

OP do you think your sibling and others like them receive sufficient support & advice on how they deal with media?
Over the years have come across numerous famous/notable” people through work. It was always obvious that many fell foul of managers who exploited the big media splashes for their own good fortunes, even when it was clear that this was often mentally detrimental to those paying for their management. Always made me sad to think somewhere down the line, these people have their own families & lives, who are protected, but the celebrity is expected to just weather any storm, often with no clarification’s offered by their mgt.

zedtree · 17/08/2026 16:58

Herenowatbroad · 17/08/2026 15:26

How come you have met so many celebrities?

I haven’t met that many, I was also talking about stories I’ve heard from my sibling but I have also been to events and backstage on shows at times where there have been numerous different celebs involved.

Ages of the children doesn’t, I think.

Calliopespa · 17/08/2026 14:49

Your last line is a really interesting point: I think some people really do just thrive on that.

You are either that type of person or you are not I think.

Which brings me to an interesting thought: do you feel your sibling always had this drive to be noticed from the start, always got attention even as a child, OR do you feel that at some level they craved it because they felt it was lacking?

I have known a handful of people who crave the limelight, and ime it has been a strange mix of those two things: they have tended to be quite centre of attention in the family home but not necessarily outside it. It's as if they were determined to make the world treat them the way their family did.

Would you say that was true of your sibling?

They’re older than me so I can’t really say exactly what they were like as a child but I think it’s a bit of both, they thrive on attention and have seemed to always get it but I guess they also felt it lacking in ways.

There’s definitely people I don't like and have seen or heard real nastiness from but who the general public seem to really like, obviously I have to bite my tongue. Ive found it’s often the people who always come across as lovely on tv that aren’t so off camera and that the ones that seem a bit grumpy or rude on tv who are also playing a part and are actually much nicer in real life.

Ohhh I'd love love love to know who these nasty celebs are! (Deffo Holly Willoughby is one of them by all accounts!).
I do love a good gossip ha :) x

quaintireneofrye · 17/08/2026 17:15

You can say that some celebs are "unpleasant".
Would that term ever be applied to your sibling?

zedtree · 17/08/2026 17:19

Bloozie · 17/08/2026 09:16

Great thread.

  1. What are you better at, than they are?
  2. What's the bougiest, most ridiculously out of touch thing they've ever said?
  3. Do they quietly do charity work?
  4. Do people ever want to be your friend just because of your sibling?

-Communicating and teamwork
-I said this earlier on but the main one that stands out to me is refusing to get in the car owned by somebody who worked for them or just their complete lack of understanding of everyday chores and life admins the rest of us have to do.
-Yes they have done, lots.
-Definitely when I was a teenager/young adult , now I don’t entertain that idea.

Haha I don't see her name on that list!

She did have an almighty falling out with the poor soul who is top of that list (late of this parish). It was over a job that neither of them got anyway (an X Factor gig, not the main event though, another spin off...went to Sarah-Jane Crawford in the end). CF was the bigger name obviously and was every much in the running for it, then said personality in question put her hat into the ring too to try and get the gig (well at the advice of her management I guess). But it absolutely wrecked their friendship...

Where has she mentioned the kids ages? Price has young kids and adult kids... Well has in the loosest sense as they aren't in her "care"

Sure, by some people. I’m very aware that celebs are real people who have good and bad days and could have all sorts going on in their lives. I would only judge someone when l have seen or heard of repeated nasty behaviour with proof.
