I don't think that's unreasonable, and I certainly think the unhappiness comes across strongly.
Let me say I know minimalists in RL, both contented people living full lives. One is an environmental activist whose decision to have minimal possessions is in line with his beliefs -- he's vegan, involved in rewilding, reforesting, has an allotment, bees etc. Another is a Buddhist who spends half his year living at a Buddhist retreat centre and the other half funding that by working while living on a sublet houseboat. He simply doesn't have space for many possessions, and his beliefs encourage detachment from worldly things, anyway.
And the other minimalist I know is what I'd call an aesthetic minimalist. She has very few possessions, but they're all incredibly beautiful and carefully chosen. She lives in a tiny modern house designed by a famous architectural practice (it was originally the 'granny flat' for a much bigger house by the same architects) which is all polished concrete and glass. Everything she puts into it (and there's no much) is carefully considered.
Whereas the OP just 'can't be arsed'.
