Just that really.

@namechangingeasy my BMI was on the high side of normal because I'm so short; I had a hysterectomy last year and had put quite a bit of weight on despite the HRT, no increase in food intake and no decrease in activity (and none of my clothes fit!) I needed a bit of a kick start, hoping to keep it off by increasing my levels of activity (for starters I've now got a second job which keeps me on my feet for 6-10 hours a week)

@Treetreetreetree barely to be honest, I didn't expect it to impact so much. I bought protein shakes and a supplement powder to support rapid weight loss, and when I have eaten have made sure it's good stuff

@SilenceInside I hope not, not now I've upped my activity levels

What checks did you have to go through?

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 21:50

@dlcy other than my medical history, nothing. I do think it might be to do with the fact I paid for Wegovy a couple of years ago with the same provider (although didn't see any benefits) before the checks were so stringent so not sure if it's different when I was already in their system

How sad. Imagine being so obsessive you have to lie. This is not normal. Eating disorder territory

Butterme · 12/05/2026 21:52

Coming off them makes people regain weight very quickly, especially if they come off of them too fast.

Are you concerned about this or are you planning on taking them long term?

SilenceInside · 12/05/2026 21:55

Do you think that WLI should be available to anyone maybe on an over the counter basis with no checks, regardless of their weight, as long as they don’t seem to be underweight?

If the online consultation had excluded you for non-weight related reasons such as an interaction with another medication or with a pre-existing health condition, would you have re-applied and not mentioned those issues?

If you had not been able to pass the checks would you have considered the illegal black market in fake medications?

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 21:55

@sickofthissick I've never been obsessive about my weight, I just didn't like the menopausal weight gain. In my opinion anybody should be able to have WLI if they want to, as long as their BMI is monitored and their prescription stopped if there are concerns

@Butterme I've increased my activity a lot since starting them and fully resolve to continue. But if I put a few pounds back on it's fine, just not the whole amount

"bye then"

oh dear you only want positive feedback on being a cheat.
go ahead continue to cheat and lie your way in life, i'm certain you will go far.

ha ha ha says someone who admits they lied about their stats to get WLI.

Monzo1ss · 12/05/2026 21:56

What did you say your BMI was?

Jesus fucking Christ it's not that deep. Do you call everyone who wants to lose weight and so uses WLI a cheat? Or only the people who aren't overweight?

OP posts:
BreakingBroken · 12/05/2026 21:58

how about only people who LIE about their need for it
I lied about my weight to get Mounjaro

SilenceInside · 12/05/2026 21:58

@CollectingAllTheACEs do you really think that anyone taking them should have their BMI monitored when that isn’t what has happened in your case? Because that sounds like you actually wanted someone to monitor you and stop you taking WLI.

WhatDoRacoonsSay · 12/05/2026 21:58

I assumed they were really stringent checks now.

Pyjamatimenow · 12/05/2026 21:59

I did too. Two years ago. Been in it ever since. Who did you manage to get it with? When I got it originally they weren’t asking for video consuls etc so it was pretty easy but it’s changed a lot since then

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 22:01

@BreakingBroken you're really boring me now

@SilenceInside I meant if those checks were in place

@WhatDoRacoonsSay I don't know if mine were less stringent as I was approved previously when they didn't really check...

@Pyjamatimenow London Slimming Clinic but I originally got Wegovy from them before they were more strict about checking (didn't do anything for me either)

WhatDoRacoonsSay · 12/05/2026 21:58

I assumed they were really stringent checks now.

There, sadly, will always be places that are shit with regard to checks and will get pulled up on it when they get inspected. But it can take an age to be inspected, unfortunately. Most places are cracking down on the lack of checks in various ways.

SilenceInside · 12/05/2026 22:03

@CollectingAllTheACEs I’m just a bit puzzled why you’d want there to be those checks for other people when you don’t think they would be needed for you?

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 22:05

@SilenceInside no I meant I wouldn't be averse to having those checks in place if it was possible for anyone wanting to lose weight to access them (within reason). For example my BMI is still perfectly healthy after losing the weight

OP posts:
BreakingBroken · 12/05/2026 22:05

well @CollectingAllTheACEs WTF is exciting about lying on your medical file or to medical personnel? even if only a pharmacist.
your AMA is potentially harmful to others.

lying isn't the way about this.

SilenceInside · 12/05/2026 22:07

Why would there be a need for those checks though, if they were considered appropriate for everyone then surely no checks are needed? You didn’t need or want checks and presumably don’t want them for yourself now or in the future.

MeridaBrave · 12/05/2026 22:07

So did I. Combo of menopause, hashimotos, PCOS.

I’m 163cm and was 72kg. Now weigh 61kg.

I started with Shemed. I had to stand on the scales on a live call, I had dumbells down the back of my trousers.

But why start this thread. Who cares?

So no need to keep commenting then. If you'd actually bothered to read my comments you'd see that a) I doubt others will be able to do the same and b) my general opinions about WLI

OP posts:
Crispsandredwine · 12/05/2026 22:08

I did the same for exactly the same reason as you. Best thing I ever did.

Nushi21 · 12/05/2026 22:08

You got the jab to lose weight and that’s all that matters. You are not severely underweight and you don’t seem to have any E/disorders.
it’s all good!
