Just that really.

well @CollectingAllTheACEs WTF is exciting about lying on your medical file or to medical personnel? even if only a pharmacist.
your AMA is potentially harmful to others.

lying isn't the way about this.

Yes. It really is. How sad to be already at a perfectly normal bmi and yet lie to be smaller. Weight loss jabs are amazing for those who genuinely,health wise, need them, but this is just ridiculous and unnecessary. Not to mention unhealthy

hellomounjaro · 12/05/2026 22:10

I did too.

I took a couple inches off my height and added probably half a stone - 10lbs on, I also did have 1 of the conditions you need to have to be able to prescribed at a BMI of 27.

best thing I ever did.

I’ve struggled most my adult life being over weight ( but not obese to qualify ) I’ve struggled with binge eating, constantly thinking about food, mindlessly snacking, continuously all day every day. My mental health was in the bin due to my disordered eating.

mounjaro has completely taken all that away and left me able to focus on eating sensibly, without the cravings of snacks and all the ‘food noise’

the online pharmacy I used asked for pictures, which they approved so I obviously looked ‘right’ in regards to what I was supposed to look like for the height and weight I said I was.

im 2 stone down now and never been happier. Food no longer controls me and I’m on a maintenance dose. It’s genuinely changed my life.

im all for the companies that perscribe for lower BMIs but I can also see how people with eating disorders such as anorexia can get sucked in and how it could be bad for some people.

oh and they never contacted my gp but I did give them the details as it wasn’t an option not too.

Ralstan · 12/05/2026 22:10

I dont understand why you've even started this thread other than attention seeking. 8 stone 4 is hardly dangerously obese unlesd ykur are 2 feet tall. You are not overweight or have dangerous bmi. You've chosen to buy wli from a dodgy place and lied to get it.

Your choice. Your decision. On your head be it. Pretty boring for the rest of us

SilenceInside · 12/05/2026 22:11

Never ceases to amaze me how stupid some providers can be when conducting live video checks. What is the point of seeing the person live if you allow them to be able to conceal weights, especially obvious ones like dumbbells.

BreakingBroken · 12/05/2026 22:11

as if the opinion of someone who lies is worth anything?
surprise it's not.

i highly doubt it would be difficult to lie, it's simply dangerous to do so and to give others the impression of how easy it is.
clearly you have zero shame for lying to get your own way and zero shame in posting unhealthy information (that lying is helpful and worth the angst).

Nopenousername · 12/05/2026 22:14

You are getting so much hate on here because “you didn’t try hard enough to lose it the normal way” but the truth is every medication including paracetamol can have serious side effects. It’s great that it has worked for you and hopefully you will keep the weight off.

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 22:14

@SilenceInside I'm talking hypothetically

@Crispsandredwine @hellomounjaro Glad I'm not the only one (crisps and white wine for me though)

@Ralstan I wasn't aware that MN now had a function where you have a gun held to your head and are forced to read certain threads? Must be a new feature! Oh and it's not from a dodgy place, it's prescribed

@BreakingBroken nope, I have zero shame, however much you want me to. I wanted to get back in my size 6 clothes after surgical menopause broke me at the age of 39 - worth every single second of the lying and 'angst' thanks, I love my body right now

She was 8 stone 4. Hardly obese
More attention seeking

Thefastandthecurious5 · 12/05/2026 22:16

Well, aren’t you clever

SilenceInside · 12/05/2026 22:17

What did you start this thread for? Hard to answer honestly I’d have thought. Is it for attention? Or to let people know how easy it is to access these meds? Or another reason?

Are you at all worried that it might encourage someone who really shouldn’t access this sort of medication to do so?

BreakingBroken · 12/05/2026 22:17

Oh wow size 6, menopausal and hip fracture on the horizon.

Pay attention, 9 stone 4 to start with which is a BMI of 24 at my height - definitely in the upper reaches of healthy. Plus WLI were cheaper than a new wardrobe

Are you still talking? I do regular weight bearing exercise, take calcium and vitamin D and prioritise protein intake

Vivienne1000 · 12/05/2026 22:21

I think you will find a lot of people do this….

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/05/2026 22:21

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 21:29

@Legolaslady because I had put on weight due to menopause and couldn't fit in any of my clothes, didn't matter how little I ate I couldn't shift it

@Pricelessadvice now 8st 4 - I am only 5'2" though

@Mullaghanish it was 23.9, now 20.9

@Overtheatlantic @BreakingBroken are you lost?

It was 23.9 so healthy anyway ?

so why go on mj

SamClamsDisco · 12/05/2026 22:21

BreakingBroken · 12/05/2026 22:17

why are you taking this so personally? You're being a twat.

Careygetoutyourkey · 12/05/2026 22:21

Sorry to hear about your mum, OP.

A friend of mine did this. She was, unlike you, slightly overweight- though not to the point where she was clinically eligible. IMO - she took it a bit far and while she lost a lot of weight, she looked really drawn and quite a bit older after a point. It was also obvious she couldn’t eat more than a few mouthfuls at a time.

She obviously came off them (normal eating again) and while she’s still slimmer than she was, I do wonder what happens if she just goes back to her previous weight. Does she go on them again? And if that’s the pattern, surely the constant yoyo-ing can’t be good for one’s health in the long term?

I take wegovy been on It coming up for 2 years and lost 4 stone. Utterly amazing.

I think its a total wonder drug.

But for people who are 8 stone like the op and clearly have mh issues or food issues realistically if you are in the 8 stones and think you need wli you probably need mh support more

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 12/05/2026 22:22

I can't really get worked up about people lying for WLIs, it's all a risk/benefit balance, and if we let people have boob implants, Botox, fillers, tanning beds etc etc, we might as well let them buy WLIs and judge for themselves if they want the risk

Proper porker. No wonder you needed to lie 🤔

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 12/05/2026 22:23

Why did you start an AMA if you’re just going to get shitty with people who ask you things you don’t like? It’s Ask Me Anything, not Ask Me Questions only the questions I want to answer and tell me how clever and brilliant I am.

I'm wondering if this is essentially a WLI-bashing thread - i.e. here to stir up froth about WLIs as a whole.

WhatDoRacoonsSay · 12/05/2026 22:26

I only came to ask as it popped up in actuve, I didn’t realise people got so het up about it.
Surely it's no reason to be rude to OP?

Agree, same with alcohol and the peptide craze in the states

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 22:27

@Blondeshavemorefun because I wasn't happy at that size - like a lot of people I think BMI is not an accurate measure

@Careygetoutyourkey I've massively upped my movement so hoping it doesn't happen, but I'd be ok with putting back on a small amount

@BoulevardOfBrokenSleep I've had a boob job too, weighed up the risks for that and like you say I see this as the same

@KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying because people aren't asking questions?
