Just that really.

OP posts:
Careygetoutyourkey · 12/05/2026 23:00

@Threadreplier - my friend also lost quite a bit of hair 😫

OP - did you ‘hide’ it from friends and family? I think if I couldn’t eat more than a few bites at meals, people close to me would start getting a bit concerned!

Pinkissmart · 12/05/2026 23:00

Fucking depressing that women choose to end up muscle deficient and nutrient deficient rather than be healthy and strong but one size bigger.

SweetValleyHighPriestess · 12/05/2026 23:01

Good on you Op. I’m considering this, am 9.2atone and would want to be between 8.4-8.7. I’ve tried everything this last 2 years. I literally have an extra tyre running in line with my belly bottom all the way round-it sticks out so much so can’t wear trousers! Is this menopause?
Op, where did you lose the weight? All over? What about fat around your organs, does it reduce that too?
Can you reduce the dosage or does everyone start on the same? Is it a pre filled pen? Could my DH get it (he qualifies) and then I use the first couple weeks of his?
I just want to fit in my clothes again!!

25+ is considered unhealthy so 23.9 isn't far off. Unhealthy is less than 18. So care to tell me how -1.1 from overweight is ok but +2.5 from underweight isn't?

I’m exactly 18 bmi. Don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop the jab. ADHD brain goes right back to binge eating

nam3c4ang3 · 12/05/2026 23:08

Do you have the ‘ozempic face’ - so many of my friends are scared to try it because the face - it looks so skeletal…

Beachforever · 12/05/2026 23:10

What dose are you on, OP? Or @cupfinalchaos what dose were you on if you don’t mind me asking?

FireBucket · 12/05/2026 23:27

If you couldn’t manage to lose such a small amount naturally it doesn’t seem likely you’ll be able to keep from gaining it straight back, to be quite honest.

Beachforever · 12/05/2026 23:32

Sorry to add another question before you’ve answered my previous one, but….

Could you recommend your protein shakes, supplements etc?

I’m also on MJ and struggling to eat anything at all which is a bit concerning. Any recommendations would be great as when I google it’s a bit of a minefield!

ToffeeCrabApple · 12/05/2026 23:32

You and everyone else. So whats new?

Alizzle · 12/05/2026 23:40

OP, I think the major factor in this is that you are a smaller height. Like you, I struggle to lose weight and if I could afford this i would too, BMI isnt an accurate measure of health, especially people at the fringes of height ranges or other factors. I also started gaining weight due to early perimenopause that health providers refuse to recognise, so why wouldn't I go elsewhere?
You've already said you are still in a healthy weight range for your height and are taking supplements, even when not eating you are taking protein shakes. I have no idea why some of these people are having a go 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Wean yourself off them now that you're happy ish with your body, keep up the exercise and keep your portions down.
Best of luck to you 😊

Loveactuallynot · 12/05/2026 23:50

Can I ask what dose you were on & if you had any side effects? Im heavier than we were when you started and have a higher BMI but despite trying everything menopause is not letting me shift a 1lb!
Also, how much was it?

Zanatdy · 13/05/2026 01:10

from someone who had had acute pancreatitis 5
times (not from WLI) trust me when I say, be very careful taking WLI (which have side effect of pancreatitis) when you’re in a healthy weight like OP. It’s the most painful thing i’ve ever experienced and I gave birth with no pain relief. Don’t think it always resolves after a month or so either, sometimes it develops into chronic and a life time of pain. It is possible to lose weight naturally and reduce risk of side effects. Lying for meds is never a good thing.

Gremlins101 · 13/05/2026 01:23

My aunt nearly died and is now left completely incapacitated for life after taking Mounjaro. And she did not lie to get it and she did "need" it.
I wouldn't mess with those drugs. Id rather be fat than eating through a tube thanks.

lornad00m · 13/05/2026 02:37

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 21:55

@sickofthissick I've never been obsessive about my weight, I just didn't like the menopausal weight gain. In my opinion anybody should be able to have WLI if they want to, as long as their BMI is monitored and their prescription stopped if there are concerns

@Butterme I've increased my activity a lot since starting them and fully resolve to continue. But if I put a few pounds back on it's fine, just not the whole amount

You think dishonesty is appropriate in order to get weight loss drugs? Because you want them?

CupcakeDreams · 13/05/2026 02:41

I don't understand what the point of this post was? Not in a flippant way, or anything, but because I don't know how to contribute or what to ask? Is it meant to be like a confessional of sorts?

OtterlyAstounding · 13/05/2026 02:52

That's rather unethical to lie about, which is interesting given that on another post of yours I just happen to be on, you've said you're 'a huge believer in honesty' due to your ASD Hmm

Anyway, a BMI of 23.9 is perfectly normal, if on the higher end of normal, and lying to take a medication that doesn't prevent you from regaining much of the weight you lost once you stop taking it, doesn't seem like a sensible idea.

I’m a GP. Menopause specialist, middle aged with a BMI of 26.5, big belly and skinny limbs. Am I tempted coming up to summer? Of course. I’m very apple shaped.

But I know I won’t. I have 1300 patients on my lists (across all age groups). Many patients on private WLI from other providers. In the past 12m I have seen 3 patients with major effects (out of hundreds) with significant negative effects… one with pancreatitis., where no other cause could be identified, one with a fairly major mental health wobble (can’t draw a direct cause line here but started with WLI and resolved when stopped) and my most recent- a chap who went blind on one eye due to ‘non arteritis anterior optic nerve ischaemia’. A life changing diagnosis for him; small print risk but real if you are the person who gets it.

I’m in favour of WLI for people whom weight causes significant health risk; but I defo won’t be taking these to look better in a swimsuit. Low risk is not no risk.

Putting your bikini body aside for one minute (I'm sure you look fine btw!) are you not worried about the risks to future you from all that visceral fat?

ETA: I'm not having a go at you, promise. But I thought Drs were pretty unanimous in telling us it's fat around the middle we should be concerned about.

@FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee I'm glad I'm not the only one!

@ParadiseIsNoBunker three weeks - I've literally not been able to eat. No plans to continue at all but I'm shocked how quickly it worked.

@Worriedmummy1244 @SilenceInside London Slimming Clinic, and I just said don't contact my GP. I had an account with them previously though and had ordered Wegovy when it first came out (it didn't work) so not sure if it was a different process since I was already in their system

@Pricelessadvice No photos but see my comment above; I weighed 9st 4, last weighed myself a week ago though so possibly now around 7st 13. And I'm staying here!

You lost 19 pounds in 3 weeks?
That's a bit extreme. Do you think you will be able to keep it off?

Sugarnspicenallthingsnaice · 13/05/2026 03:14

Technically I lied to get Wegovy - I didn't have scales handy so I 'rounded up' from my most recent weigh-in to make sure my BMI was over 30.

Got the shock of my life when I did eventually get on the scales and found I was even heavier than my lie!

tamade · 13/05/2026 03:16

lornad00m · 13/05/2026 02:37

Presumably she is paying for them. Isn't a better question why should she have to lie?

hellomylov3 · 13/05/2026 03:26

I didn't even have to lie to get them. Bmi of 28 and got approved on a 6 month plan no problem. So to all those foaming at the mouth leave op alone
There are plenty of jabs to go round for everyone , no need to be jealous 🤗

Nearly50omg · 13/05/2026 04:08

CollectingAllTheACEs · 12/05/2026 21:48

@namechangingeasy my BMI was on the high side of normal because I'm so short; I had a hysterectomy last year and had put quite a bit of weight on despite the HRT, no increase in food intake and no decrease in activity (and none of my clothes fit!) I needed a bit of a kick start, hoping to keep it off by increasing my levels of activity (for starters I've now got a second job which keeps me on my feet for 6-10 hours a week)

@Treetreetreetree barely to be honest, I didn't expect it to impact so much. I bought protein shakes and a supplement powder to support rapid weight loss, and when I have eaten have made sure it's good stuff

@SilenceInside I hope not, not now I've upped my activity levels

BMI is outdated and not accurate!! At least 50 years out of date. 8 stone for your height is underweight and carrying on taking WL injections at your age is just asking for further trouble with your eating disorder/body dysmorphia whatever you have

see a psychiatrist - seriously!!!! Before you end up with serious long term problems

OvernightBloats · 13/05/2026 04:18

Have you suffered any side-effects? What are they?

OtterlyAstounding · 13/05/2026 05:17

It's odd that jealousy is assumed, instead of people disapproving of drug seekers lying to access medication - my BMI is actually 18.7 right now, and I'm really struggling to get up to 21, so no envy there at all!

But it seems inappropriate to lie in order to get restricted medication.

lazymaw · 13/05/2026 06:10

load of folk I know have done this too 👍
