Being told I was not allowed to identify as a lesbian, even though we were both women, as that was triggering for her.

It was my first lesbian relationship, something I'd wanted since my teenage years and I was not allowed to call myself a lesbian or say she was my girlfriend etc

At the time I went along with it as I loved her and thought it was transphobic to do otherwise.

In hindsight it was most definitely limmerance. Not love.

Because she wanted to become polygamous and I absolutely was not willing to compromise on monogamy.

That sounds like a good reason she’s an ex. If someone decides a partner must respect and tip toe around someone else’s ‘identity’ but they’re not allowed to choose how you identify and must only prop up how they feel, then they are far too selfish to be in a relationship with anyone.
