Hey! Bored and thought this could be fun. As I've said above I smoke cannabis daily, Have done for years. Only in the evening. I'm a mum and my DH does too. If anyone has any questions ask away :-)

Are you aware of the damage to your brain that it causes?

Are you in denial or you just don't care?

I've got a good question - are you going to answer any questions?

Sorry got distracted Grin

Ugh, your neighbours can smell it and so can people you pass in shops, teachers and god knows who else. It stinks and it lingers. You're fucking deluded mate.

Why would anyone tell you, they just silently judge 🤣

Let alone the damage to the kids’ brains and yes they still smell it and inhale it because the stench is on you even if you smoke it at the bottom of the garden.

Who looks after your children when you & your husband are outside indulging yourselves every single day?

Do you really smoke it every day (so leave them even if it's Christmas Eve or their birthday, they are ill etc..) ?

How much time do you abandon your children each evening for in order to do this?

Did you just leave them alone so you could sit around getting high even when they were babies?

When your children want to take drugs will you be helping them source their drugs too?

Do you also smoke regular cigarettes?
(Have known a number of drug addicts who became addicted to smoking nicotine after actually starting off smoking weed, who said stopping the cigarettes was harder than the weed when they gave up)

Haha! I'm not sure where you got all that from but my kids are tucked up safely in bed when we do & it is always in the garden, if they were to shout I would hear, it's really no different than when I abandon them to bring the washing in off the line some evening!

You do realise children go to bed earlier than adults, right?

User6589310 · 03/05/2023 15:51

You keep comparing having a glass of wine with cannabis.

The difference is one is legal and the other isn't.

Both can lead to addiction and health issues.

So it's not really sensible to say yours is the better of two evils.

I'm surprised your neighbours don't report you.

I am detached as are most of the houses nearby but I can still smell someone smoking fags if they are in their garden, some distance from me.

shiningstar2 · 03/05/2023 15:52

When your kids get older they will realize. Would you be happy if they followed yours and your husband's example?

How much does an 8th cost these days?

Around £30-£50 depending on the stuff!

How could you be so selfish? NOT a rhetorical question - I actually want an answer.

Well seeing as we both work full time, own our home, holiday regularly, have a great marriage etc yes I wouldn't be too fussed if my children followed in my footsteps and smoked a joint in the evening to relax.

Haha ok so what about when we have friends round and have a bottle of wine in the summer sat outside once the kids are in bed? Is that terrible too? I don't smoke TK get stoned and quite honestly with tolerance one joint doesn't have much affect other than relaxing me a little I could still do all the tasks I'd do before a smoke. EXCEPT drive would never drive.

gettingoldisshit · 03/05/2023 15:56

Op as much as I don't judge you for doing it, I disagree when you say you don't smell of it! People who smoke weed absolutely stink of it! The smell literally clings to everything, clothes, skin, hair etc! To someone who doesn't smoke it it absolutely reeks!

You don't know how long it would take someone to get the washing in vs smoke a fag, I'd say similar. I'd have to be running like a mad woman to do the washing in 30 seconds.

Personally I think the opposite, people are lacking logic just to jump to come to the most negative conclusion possible in response to anything she says.

Butchyrestingface · 03/05/2023 15:57

How do you afford it?

(pick me, pick me!)

takecareteddybear · 03/05/2023 15:59

Wolfinthehouse · 03/05/2023 14:44

Do you think there are negative effects on your children?
I grew up in a weed smoking household, not just in the evenings type people. They grew it and sold small quantities. It was sometimes horrific but mostly they didn't look after us as well as they should of e.g we didn't eat dinner till gone 10pm every night type thing.
Do you think your parenting is as good as it should be (no ones perfect) but would your parenting be better without drugs?
I also had to deal with them being very very paranoid quite often, do your children see you high?

That's interesting and I'm sorry to hear about your childhood. No I wouldn't say it impacts my parenting at all from the moment I wake up to the moment my kids go to bed they are my main focus (along with work etc) it never stands in the way of days out, holidays, if my kids have friends to sleep over I would not smoke. I only have one joint in the evening and really don't think it affects me much more than making me feel a bit more relaxed. In fact when I used to drink I'd say I was a lot less responsible

You can think what you like but for me it's ridiculous@aSofaNearYou to compare going out to smoke weed and bringing in the washing and saying they are the same.

And it's pretty hard not to be 'negative' when someone is talking nonsense.

Brokendaughter · 03/05/2023 16:00

I knew quite a few people who smoked weed when I was younger.
Most gave up before having kids.

None of them spent a quick 2 minutes outside smoking it, then rushed back in to resume their lives the way a smoker might sneak out for a regular cigarette.

They tended to smoke very slowly, over a long period of time, especially if there was someone else there to chat with.

It also did not leave them in a fit condition to be in charge of children, although they would have said it did at the time.

And that's the older style stuff I think you said you smoke, not the newer, stronger stuff people seem to get nowadays.

nakeklak · 03/05/2023 14:45

@goinginsaneinthemembrane in an emergency you would surely just operate as you would if you didn't drive? And regular weed smokers are generally still very alert/responsible when high, it's not the same as being drunk. I wonder if OP agrees

I agree! Grin

That part is not nonsense though. You can disagree with weed all you like but objectively both of those items are likely to take a few minutes.

The house next door but one to me smoke it daily, down the end of their garden. As such we can’t use our garden in the evenings because it absolutely stinks. I think your habit is far more antisocial than you realise.

You say you smoke daily but never in the house. Are you and DH hanging out in the garden in all weathers?
