Hey! Bored and thought this could be fun. As I've said above I smoke cannabis daily, Have done for years. Only in the evening. I'm a mum and my DH does too. If anyone has any questions ask away :-)

I work in county lines/exploitation. It’s not just a bit of weed, a little joint causing no harm. It’s life ruining, absolute devastation for lots of people. You are contributing to it op. Imagine if it was your teen? How would you feel then?

80s · 03/05/2023 16:02

I live in Germany, where it's about to be legalised for personal use. It's not fully decided yet how it will work, but probably "social clubs" at first - up to 500 people in a group with some growing and the others buying limited amounts.

Isn't it quite expensive, though? How much would you spend a month, smoking every day? (I have no idea what an 8th is )
And do you notice any positive effects apart from the short-term high?

Haha ok so what about when we have friends round and have a bottle of wine in the summer sat outside once the kids are in bed? Is that terrible too? I don't smoke TK get stoned and quite honestly with tolerance one joint doesn't have much affect other than relaxing me a little I could still do all the tasks I'd do before a smoke. EXCEPT drive would never drive.

Do you drive though?

After a few days of continual smoking a joint per day, are you sure you're not over the drug drive limit? On programs like Motorway Cops they're regularly getting positive test results from people that have admitted smoking a few days previously.

How many joints makes driving illegal?

Do you have no shame in being such an irresponsible parent? Your poor children.

Another question.. are you actually going to answer anything? You're bored and say ask me anything but no responses as of yet....

Sorry I was too busy ignoring my kids and smoking weed! Haha!

I don't know its always compared to alcohol as if it has to be one or the other. Both aren't normal for people to do every single day.

takecareteddybear · 03/05/2023 16:04

Brainfriedforever · 03/05/2023 14:58

Do you get angsty and twtchy before you can go out and have your evening smoke? Do you get irritable if you getting your fix is delayed?

No never, can easily go away for 2 weeks and not miss it.

Thank you for your diagnosis Grin

I don't mean to be unkind, I actually have first hand experience of this situation. You really do have a problem with substance use if it's a daily habit. It doesn't matter if its alcohol or pot. Using either on a daily basis to relax is suggestive of a problem. Try to keep it just to the weekend for a month and assess logicaly if you are craving during the week, or experiencing higher levels of anxiety or frustration. If you feel frustrated or just not relaxed without it you already have a problem I'm afraid :(

Op as much as I don't judge you for doing it, I disagree when you say you don't smell of it! People who smoke weed absolutely stink of it! The smell literally clings to everything, clothes, skin, hair etc! To someone who doesn't smoke it it absolutely reeks!

Some people do smell of weed- mostly people who sit in their houses with the windows closed and smoke skunk all day. OP is unlikely to smell having a joint in the garden and (I’m assuming) regularly bathing and changing her clothes. I’ve smoked weed and given it’s never been picked up in any of my professional jobs or by my parents (who would be appalled in a very mumsnetty fashion) I’m pretty sure I don’t go around smelling like Cheech + Chong

christmascalypso · 03/05/2023 16:05

Have you ever felt any paranoia? My friend used to be a regular smoker of cannabis and became totally paranoid about things. She died of lung cancer in her late 40's 😢 I can smell it a mile off if someone is smoking it. I hate to tell you but the smell will cling to your clothes. I can walk past someone not smoking and be able to tell they are a cannabis smoker. You have become 'nose-blind' and won't be able to smell it much. I've nothing against it personally but it so much stronger nowadays than in the past and I do think it is addictive even if just psychologically.

JaneyGee · 03/05/2023 16:05

Aren’t you ashamed to be putting money into the pockets of vicious criminals? Doesn’t it prick your conscience that you fund/encourage violence and gang culture?

Cannabis isn’t harmless. No drug is harmless. To make it worse, cannabis often acts as a gateway to even more dangerous substances. There are numerous families out there that have been ripped apart by this so-called ‘harmless’ drug. Young men who smoke it every day often end up with terrible anxiety, depression, paranoia and social phobia. I’ve seen it. And before you ask, no, I don’t drink alcohol. Giving up alcohol was the best thing I ever did. It also makes me happy to learn that young people drink far less than my generation did.

Male101 · 03/05/2023 16:06

From when you wake up what does your average day consist of? For you and DH

allmyliesaretrue · 03/05/2023 16:07

I think you're just taking the piss, to get a rise out of posters.

Either way it's a bit pathetic.

lillkim500 · 03/05/2023 16:07

Blimey - do you grow it yourself? Weed only ever made me paranoid as fuck so was never for me, plus the stuff they smoke these days is mad strong (i believe they say).

I guess if its not affecting life or work negatively then not much of a problem. We used to mix it with baccy but these days i hear thats not a thing.

I haven't but that doesn't mean I never will & I certainly am aware of the risks. Really sorry about your friend Flowersx

There we have it, you need to go away not to miss it... Please get some help, you have become psychologically addicted to an unhealthy habit. It's time to face reality.

User6589310 · 03/05/2023 16:08

I think it's not a great idea to fuel this poster's need for attention.

She's loving winding everyone up and being a 'rebel'.

Carry on OP but be aware that SS may get involved if other people know your kids are being brought up like this.

Neighbours, teachers, other parents- they will all either know now or find out.

refreshingseahorse · 03/05/2023 16:08

You can buy vaporisers that are designed for weed and it smells less noticeable than joints and a LOT less than joints with tobacco in (which is a weird UK thing and smells the strongest and worst).

Anyway people always discuss smell on these threads but this never comes up. IMO legalise it and spend the tax ££ on schools / nurses / giant royal events as desired.

No I don't wouldn't know where to start haha! I mix with baccy. In fact I'm sure if any young'ens looked at my joints they would laugh as I use only a tiny amount! I really do not want ti feel off my face stones just a small relaxing buzz.

I agree & did think I was going to take a thrashing on here but hey ho! As I said in an earlier reply some people like a glass of wine in the evening I like a joint! One thing I will say is never does a smoke make me feel angry, aggressive, argumentative, emotional etc like i know alcohol can. Put a bunch of smokers in a room and I bet all you'd hear is lord of giggling! it works for me :-)

You've got your head in the sand if you think it's less harmful than alcohol.

I'm not talking about harm to you and your body - do whatever you like there.

But the harm to society, to children as young as 7 who are trafficked, right here in the UK and on your doorstep.

I just don't know how parents can fund this activity. You have children of your own, imagine if they were caught up in this.

In one post you say you're at the bottom of a large garden - so far away your house won't smell of weed. In the next you say you're close enough to hear your children shout.

If you're in shouting distance I guarantee anyone in that house can smell the weed.

How do I know? Because I can smell the weed my neighbours smoke. And when I say "neighbours" I don't mean "next door". I mean they live behind me and are far enough away that I can't tell which house is theirs.

Velvian · 03/05/2023 16:12

Your neighbours definitely smell it. It is so distinctive and really travels. I know which neighbours smoke in their gardens, due to the smell. Obviously I've never said anything to them, so they wouldn't know.
