"We" can always tell

Except when "we" can't:

Note the weasel words of the thread don't actually apologise for allowing terrible people to decide the victim wasn't female because she wasn't sufficiently meeting a stereotypical view of how women should look in their bigoted opinions. The fault for behaving in a bigoted fashion is only that of the bigots and no-one else.

OP posts:

Karen doesn't control other people - how do you suggest she controls the whole of twitter to stop 'allowing terrible people to decide the victim wasn't female'?

She's apologised for the mistake - actually apologised, not the 'I'm sorry if I offended you' non-apology we see so often.

Mistakes are going to happen in a world with filters and photoshop, and men pretending to be women and so many organisations colluding with it.

No-one's perfect. Doesn't make them bigots.

alcovecupboards · 14/10/2026 20:27

The account was attacked by GC people because they believed the murdered woman was trans. Members on this board shared it to amplify the attacks. They didn't care about this woman - they just saw a trans person being murdered and decided it was fair game. The fact that she wasn't trans didn't matter to them - she wasn't sufficiently feminine enough for their liking. The hypocrisy is vile.

StealthTroublemaker · 14/10/2026 20:28

A bigot is a person who strongly and unreasonably dislikes, hates, or refuses to accept people, ideas, or beliefs that are different from their own

so every TRA then. I mean, the ones who issue rape threats, death threats and threats of violence to women who refuse to comply with their ideology.

IwantToRetire · 14/10/2026 20:32

There's no evidence that this was anything more than yet another example of how not to rely on twitter etc., for "facts".

And the error was corrected.

So the OP is just a personal misrepresentation of a set of events.

Perhaps they could offer an apology.

So appalling GC behaviour but you resort to whatabouterry. How exactly does this make you better than the other side exactly?

This is evidence that a murdered woman didn't look feminine enough for a huge number of GC people who harassed an account dedicated to murdered women until they deleted it and claimed it was because the woman in question was trans. They were wrong. You are wrong now.

They actually questioned 'is it male?'

Now don’t go stating facts and reason, you know it upsets some posters.

One person, who you’ve decided represents FWR, rather than the posters who called her out.

Why don’t you start a more wholesome thread. I’m sure you had some pressing matters that you thought should be discussed here.

StealthTroublemaker · 14/10/2026 21:04

Wasn’t there a poster a few days ago started a thread on the Cornell rape incident but used it as a platform to scold women on here for not talking about it enough? Do you think this is another thread like that?

Scout2016 · 14/10/2026 21:19

Yes, clearly the problem here is not the fact women are being murdered by men, or that men are pretending to be women. And that those men are more likley to murder than be murdered. It's that someone who campaigns against violence against women and girls made an error then apologised for it.

If you want to talk about opposing gender stereotypes, what makes Tommy think he should be Tammy if it's not wanting to wear "women's" clothes and a vague feeling on not being whatever his idea of male is? Why does every narrative about a "trans" child start with a stertype like they always played with dolls and wanted to wear pink sparkles, never with trucks and mud so they must be a girl?

DworkinWasRight · 14/10/2026 21:20

Well, I’d have thought our activist chums would be delighted at further proof that trans women are a very safe demographic. Unlike women.

Shedmistress · 14/10/2026 21:24

So this has nothing to do with FWR at all?

Right ho.

IwantToRetire · 14/10/2026 21:28

Just think how many threads we could all start about instances where someone on social media makes an inaccurate report, and it get taken up by others.

More and more FWR is about anthing other than women's sex based rights.

I wonder if the "be kind" Feminist Chat forum is also being bombarded like this.

ApplebyArrows · 14/10/2026 21:30

I expect for many people it wasn't about how feminine she looked, but that they were told she wasn't a woman and accepted that uncritically.

And then felt the need to harass an account because it shared her pictures. What lovely people. No condemnation here, I note.

I was the second to call her out. I also called out her transphobia (because that's what it was) and then was criticised for calling it such. The others wanted it deleted so they can continue to pretend that there's no transphobia on here.

Did you call her out? Or did you use it as a stick to beat FWR with? As you continue to do. Of course according to you no one could want it pulled because it was distasteful, only because they wanted to ‘hide the transphobia’.

IwantToRetire · 14/10/2026 21:52

There is no transphobia on here.

This forum is for those who support women's sex based rights, which isn't transphobic.

If some one who doesn't believe in women's sex based rights keeps complaining because contributors to FWR post on the basis of this shared belief, what is their motive. Its as dubious as if say they did not share a Marxist analysis but they spend all their time going on thread for those who did believe in Marxism to endless go on about how Marxism is wrong.

Particularly when MNHQ were supportive enough to set up Feminist Chat for those who want to "be kind".

Seems that even in the virtual world women aren't allowed to define what they belief, nor are allowed a "safe space".

You relentlessly call everyone out for literally nothing so no idea why you think you are some sort of social warrior hero for 'being the first to call her out'.

Whoever 'she' is. Or was.

IwantToRetire · 14/10/2026 21:56

I'm beginning to think this is going to be the sad end of FWR, when you compare it to the strongly feminist and pro-active contribution it made during the period on consultation on self identity.

And no doubt one of the contributors to MN having lost quite a lot of users.
