Totally off topic but Tunnocks related.

Sorry, I know this is off topic but thought some regular posters may be interested. I watched a YouTube video yesterday where one the vloggers took a Tunnocks teacake, put it in a brioche bun and squeezed so the teacake spread over the bun. He said it was really good so I think I’m gong to try it.
He previously did a kitkat sandwich in another video and said the Tunnocks in a bun was better!

DialSquare, that is the least accurate use of the phrase 'totally off topic' I have ever seen - this is FWR, FFS! Tunnocks are relevant to any topic on here!

I speak as someone who has never even seen a Tunnocks except in photos, let alone eaten one. But I respect other people's belief systems😁

I see that no-one else has replied to your post, I expect they're all too busy squeezing Tunnockses into brioche buns....

quantumbutterfly · 24/08/2026 11:20

Heresy.

I've been cooling my tunnocks in the freezer lately (not a euphemism). Makes the chocolate nicely bitey & the mallow satisfyingly chewy.

AngleofRepose · 24/08/2026 11:21

Um... not sure how to say "ewww" without saying "ewww." Perhaps better if you smash it all in a sandwich maker ?? I'm not Tunnocks connoisseur enough to have an opinion worth knowing.

@Boiledbeetle Boily, any opinion?

What - you've never had a tunnocks ? Surely you should have a 2 week ban for that.

lcakethereforeIam · 24/08/2026 11:24

Ooh! A Tunnock's Breville. That's genius!

People seem to like the teacakes on here, but I much prefer the caramel wafers. I'm having one at the moment. It says on the packaging that over 7,000,000 of these biscuits are made and sold every week. Just as well, I say.

I clicked on this thread expecting it to be about Eddie.
This is better. 😆

QuetzalTerfLus · 24/08/2026 11:30

I couldn’t resist the blatant click-bait thread title here!

I don’t like the idea of this as a cold sandwich but somehow it appeals as a toastie - all squidged down with oozy melty marshmallow and some residual crunch from the biscuity part of the tea cake.

I don’t have a toastie-maker thing but please can someone try this and report back?

DialSquare · 24/08/2026 11:30

Mmmmmmm. Tunnocks breville.

I can confirm that this is absolutely the best way to serve Tunnocks.

BaronessBomburst · 24/08/2026 11:31

You don't need a toasty maker/ panini gril. Just use a frying pan on a medium heat and flip a couple of times.

thistimelastweek · 24/08/2026 11:33

There's nothing that you can do to a Tunnocks Teacake that will make it ok.
Except maybe bin it.

DialSquare · 24/08/2026 11:34

I’ve got a Breville and one of these so no excuse not to try it really.

Put it in the microwave for between 10 and 15 seconds. Watch it explode. Eat it.

(Unwrap it first)

Or freeze it.

Yes this. I stand squarely against the force teaming of gender critical thought with desiccated coconut.

RumNotRun · 24/08/2026 11:48

Tunnocks don't have dessicated coconut (or at least the ones I've had don't)

dementedpixie · 24/08/2026 11:49

A caramel log has coconut on the outside. No coconut in a teacake though

MyThreeWords · 24/08/2026 11:50

oh, ok I'm thinking of the snowball. <heresy>Don't much like the teacakes either though</heresy>

Ooh! A snowball Breville! Don't have any of those either!! 😠

shellyleppard · 24/08/2026 12:01

@QuetzalTerfLus wouldn't it leak everywhere and stick to the sandwich toaster? Or would a panini press be better 😋🙃
