Sorry, I know this is off topic but thought some regular posters may be interested. I watched a YouTube video yesterday where one the vloggers took a Tunnocks teacake, put it in a brioche bun and squeezed so the teacake spread over the bun. He said it was really good so I think I’m gong to try it. He previously did a kitkat sandwich in another video and said the Tunnocks in a bun was better!

People seem to like the teacakes on here, but I much prefer the caramel wafers. I'm having one at the moment. It says on the packaging that over 7,000,000 of these biscuits are made and sold every week. Just as well, I say.

Stroopwaffels do not go with hot chocolate. That's sacrilege. It has to be coffee.

Talking of marshmallow...I believe it's a thing to use stroopwaffles as the lid of a hot chocolate. I'd been wondering what would happen if you put a Tunnocks or two in a velvitiser. I decided the biscuit would make it weird but as the lid, floating in a hot chocolate that could be lush.

The mention of both teacakes and stroopwaffles in the same post has now got me thinking about sandwiching a Tunnocks teacake between two stroopwaffles and heating/pressing them (George Forman grill?) so you get a melty squishy chocolate sandwich.

Which could then sit quite nicely on your hot chocolate and even be used to dip.

DialSquare, that is the least accurate use of the phrase 'totally off topic' I have ever seen - this is FWR, FFS! Tunnocks are relevant to any topic on here!

I speak as someone who has never even seen a Tunnocks except in photos, let alone eaten one. But I respect other people's belief systems😁

I see that no-one else has replied to your post, I expect they're all too busy squeezing Tunnockses into brioche buns....

Another Tunnocks related fact I've just remembered.

If you fly with Logan Air, they give you a free Tunnocks caramel wafer (I like them better than the tea cakes anyway).

For me it's a work trip so it's not my money that's paying for the relatively expensive short flight that means they can afford to give away little treats like this, as well as the world's smallest cup of water. I only ever use them to go from Liverpool to the Isle of Man so they don't have time to make people hot drinks, so water it is.

we like a Frys chocolate cream (the blue wrapped one, it’s a bar of fondant covered in dark chocolate) broken up into tiny chunks over a buttered scottish morning roll. The crunchiness of the roll and the soft butter melting into the fondant is lovely if you like sweet things.

my mums been eating that since the 50s or whenever it was made after the war as her mum gave her that as a treat. and she gave me it as a treat. i still like it.

Look, this is terrible. I'm doing Slimming Word (there's a forum on MN for it - I never look) and tunnocks are not on any healthy extra or free food lists. How am I supposed to manage? They sell them in the supermarket near me and now I am wondering if they work in croissants. Argggh!

mine used to have it made by her mother when she was a child and called it a “chittering bite” which was a treat after swimming when they were cold on their way home from the baths on the bus or tram.

Binglebong, you are lucky! I went to my local Co-op this afternoon and they had sold out of Tunnocks Tea Cakes. They did have brioche buns, but what's the point without Tunnocks 😞

I've been cooling my tunnocks in the freezer lately (not a euphemism). Makes the chocolate nicely bitey & the mallow satisfyingly chewy.

Am on board with this, but a tunnocks bap is a step too far!

Haven’t RTFT but earlier this year I got a Tunnocks embroidered bag from Uniqlo and suddenly it’s occurred to me that this could be seen as a subtle signaling of my views. I didn’t do it deliberately but I love the inadvertent symbolism 😀

Sadly, since I live on the other side of the world the chances of anyone seeing my bag an drawing that conclusion are wafer thin but still…
