There's a teacake mushed into the underside of my living room rug courtesy of a very young Ds. That stuff is like glue. It will always be there as a reminder never to leave a toddler unsupervised with a teacake! I imagine getting it off glass would result in smearing it round more.

The story goes that 60 years ago, Tunnock's teacakes were banned from RAF flights after a cockpit marshmallow explosion.
The chocolate-covered treats were apparently all the rage, eaten by nuclear bomber crewmen on training sorties at the height of the Cold War.
But in the summer of 1965, a captain and student pilot forgot they had placed unwrapped teacakes above their instrument panels.
When the captain pulled an emergency depressurising switch the iconic Scottish treat erupted - leaving a sticky mess over the airmen, the instruments and cockpit canopy.
Now the RAF Centre of Aerospace Medicine has now given them the all-clear to fly again, after tests in an altitude chamber found the teacakes did not explode.

Ds is trying the brioche, chocolate hazelnut spread and teacake combo for breakfast. He says it might be better without the spread but he is enjoying his breakfast burger.

Went to the supermarket earlier to do the week's shopping, I think a bunch of you must live near me. The Tunnocks section had been absolutely ravaged, just empty boxes and a pool of tears.

On the plus side, they had an offer on Bonne Maman hazelnut chocolate spread!

Sorry, I know this is off topic but thought some regular posters may be interested. I watched a YouTube video yesterday where one the vloggers took a Tunnocks teacake, put it in a brioche bun and squeezed so the teacake spread over the bun. He said it was really good so I think I’m gong to try it.
He previously did a kitkat sandwich in another video and said the Tunnocks in a bun was better!

I am clearly living in the wrong place as I've just come back from Home and Bargains and the most exotic Tunnocks they had were the dark chocolate tea cakes. Six for £1.99 and now in my freezer. Not a sign of any selection boxes or logs or snowballs.

It wasn't the best value way to buy Tunnocks, but it is obviously the best selection box.

ETA: Tunnocks in Home Bargains are cheaper than Poundland AND they have nearly all of the range.

I've been cooling my tunnocks in the freezer lately (not a euphemism). Makes the chocolate nicely bitey & the mallow satisfyingly chewy.

We bought brioche rolls from M&S. Should I lightly toast the brioche bun? I don’t want to panini press it first off. I think lightly toasted might be the way forward.

I'm going to have to unfollow this thread because I now have ten Tunnocks teacakes and 8 caramel Wafers in the cupboard and am trying to ration them to one a day to savour with a cup of tea in the afternoon not shovel a sneaky two at 11.30!

Well I just had to go buy a pack of dark tunnock tea cakes and yes I confirm they are delicious frozen.

I am a little concerned as to why they don’t actually properly freeze though, perhaps an hour or so wasn’t sufficient 🤭
