Sorry, I know this is off topic but thought some regular posters may be interested. I watched a YouTube video yesterday where one the vloggers took a Tunnocks teacake, put it in a brioche bun and squeezed so the teacake spread over the bun. He said it was really good so I think I’m gong to try it. He previously did a kitkat sandwich in another video and said the Tunnocks in a bun was better!

They do make another product, Tunnock's Wafer Cream, but it's virtually impossible to find. But worth it when you do.

I’d not heard of them before but just looked at them and they look great.

I’m a Londoner who has friends who live in Bothwell hence the visit to the Tunnocks Tea Room. There were loads of us up for their wedding at the time so about 16 of us walked down to the tea room!

we like a Frys chocolate cream (the blue wrapped one, it’s a bar of fondant covered in dark chocolate) broken up into tiny chunks over a buttered scottish morning roll. The crunchiness of the roll and the soft butter melting into the fondant is lovely if you like sweet things.

my mums been eating that since the 50s or whenever it was made after the war as her mum gave her that as a treat. and she gave me it as a treat. i still like it.

I love all the Fry’s cream bars. Particularly mint and the mixed fruit one they used to do.
So is it melted in to the roll or just placed in it?

Um... not sure how to say "ewww" without saying "ewww." Perhaps better if you smash it all in a sandwich maker ?? I'm not Tunnocks connoisseur enough to have an opinion worth knowing.

@Boiledbeetle Boily, any opinion?

I'd take this further and spread some nutella on the inside of the brioche, cos the sandwich toaster will warm it and make it all gooey. That will help the tunnocks meld with the nutella (and hence the brioche), making for a sturdier sandwich eating experence.

I’m off to the Trafford Centre )send thoughts and prayers please) and have added M&S brioche buns and Bonne Maman chocolate hazelnut spread to my mental list. I don’t buy Nutella anymore with the palm oil nastiness.

Yes, they do and it’s superior. They do a smaller jar and a large jar. It’s often on offer at Waitrose. They do a chocolate orange one too but I’ve not tried that. I’ve seen that in Asda. I think I’ve seen a chunky version of the regular one but could be mistaken. No, I’m not. See attached.
DS got up and asked if we could get brioche rolls today so I love that he’s remembered our conversation last night and it was his first question this morning. He’s not keen on a frozen teacake. Says he doesn’t like chewy marshmallow so the one in the freezer is for me. Oh, go on then, if I must.

On Xmas eve I make a big hot chocolate for DC, squirty cream piled on top then a Tunnocks tea cake as the crowning glory. You have to eat it before it sinks - like a bobbing apple.

So it’s not tunnocks and brioche, it’s Fry’s chocolate cream crumbled in a scottish morning roll. it’s a kind of harder shell crispy roll. totally different. it’s the balance of sweet Fry’s and savoury roll. The butter is for moistness.

It’s not just Tunnocks as it does cakes, buns, lunches etc. but it is opposite the factory so sells all the products.

Talking of marshmallow...I believe it's a thing to use stroopwaffles as the lid of a hot chocolate. I'd been wondering what would happen if you put a Tunnocks or two in a velvitiser. I decided the biscuit would make it weird but as the lid, floating in a hot chocolate that could be lush.
