And has effectively also said that Women's Place and the LGB Alliance (essentially groups for women, gays and lesbians to meet and discuss women's, gay and lesbian issues) are hate groups and them meeting are hate crimes

What a silly creature they are...

Mossyrock · 11/02/2020 13:44

Those pledges!!

They make Rayner and Labour look absolutely unhinged.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 11/02/2020 13:52

Fine. It'll scar me deep down but .... I'll resist the temptation to join the Labour Party. Afraid that I don't believe that TWAW!

andyoldlabour · 11/02/2020 13:52

Oh, deary, deary me, they have just lost an election and can't wait to get some practice in at losing another one.
They are really good at one thing though - alienating people.

slipperywhensparticus · 11/02/2020 13:53

Well I cant vote for that shower of shite can I

BovaryX · 11/02/2020 13:54

Labour seem determined to make their sojourn on the political sidelines permanent. The pledges are hilarious. Oxymoronic, aggrieved victimhood, hierarchy of oppression. It's all so very tedious

AlunWynsKnee · 11/02/2020 13:55

Alright Ange, I was ahead of you there. I left last year precisely because I don't agree.

slipperywhensparticus · 11/02/2020 13:55

And arnt there many mens clubs that exclude trans women? They wont go after those will they

Time for a new party

andyoldlabour · 11/02/2020 13:56

I wonder if Angela will bother to read the replies on Twitter?

Lordfrontpaw · 11/02/2020 13:56

Too busy polishing her cookie halo.

Tanith · 11/02/2020 14:01

Fortunately, it isn't up to them Hmm

nauticant · 11/02/2020 14:08

Those pledges!

  • trans people (ie transwomen) are the most oppressed of all people
  • accept self-ID in all circumstances, no debate
  • there is no conflict between women's rights and trans rights, and to see any conflict is misogyny (not sure where that leaves women in prison encountering Karen Whites)
  • believe what trans people say, no debate
  • all of our statements must put trans people before anyone else
  • dissent must be suppressed
  • dissenting organisations are by definition transphobic and are hate groups
  • expel dissenters
  • embrace the next 10 years of Tory rule (OK I made that one up)
Floisme · 11/02/2020 14:10

I can't wait for the web chat.

Tanith · 11/02/2020 14:11

I see Rebecca Long-Bailey has also endorsed this. For goodness sake!

Still, it does root out the brainless candidates who will sign anything put before them.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/02/2020 14:11

Well, I don't usually resort to stock MN answers but I reckon 'are they on glue?' and 'cancel the cheque' just about covers it. And maybe a LTBT

ErrolTheDragon · 11/02/2020 14:13

(Hm, not sure why my autocorrect changed LTB to LTBTConfused)

zen1 · 11/02/2020 14:15

I’m going to cancel my membership after the next leader is elected. I clung on hoping that there’d be change and de-woking but obviously this was misplaced.

Forgotthebins · 11/02/2020 14:25

It's not up to Angela though, is it.

Catting · 11/02/2020 14:27

Was listening to today's 'Triggernometry' podcast all about Labours awful woke strategies failing their core voters.

Very interesting.

littlbrowndog · 11/02/2020 14:31

Well these politicians are accepting their salaries to reprsent their constituents. Of who some are women

Why don’t they do5 their jobs for the money they get

RoyalCorgi · 11/02/2020 14:33

Angela Rayner is unbelievably dim, as is Rebecca Long-Bailey. For three reasons:

  1. No sane person really believes that TWAW.
  2. Anyone who thinks about the issue for even 30 seconds can see the problems self-ID poses in terms of enabling predatory men into spaces designed for women and girls.
  3. Even if you really buy wholeheartedly into the TWAW mantra and assorted nonsense, a sensible politician who retains the desire to be elected would have enough sense to realise that this sort of stuff alienates a large chunk of the electorate. Just today, Lord Ashcroft's report on why Labour lost the election has shown that Labour's wholehearted embrace of trans nonsense played a part.

It absolutely depresses me that two people that thick stand a chance of being elected leader and deputy leader of the main opposition party.

RoyalCorgi · 11/02/2020 14:36

My favourite response on that thread:

DJLippy · 11/02/2020 14:38

She has history when it comes to this sort of thing. When I met my local MP Angela Rayner to discuss my concerns re the GRA

FridgeOffal · 11/02/2020 14:40

And this, Angela, is why I'm politically homeless. Sad

jadefinch · 11/02/2020 14:43

Yes - Rebecca Long-Bailey has just tweeted her support for this fascistic document
