And has effectively also said that Women's Place and the LGB Alliance (essentially groups for women, gays and lesbians to meet and discuss women's, gay and lesbian issues) are hate groups and them meeting are hate crimes

It’s elitist shite.

Doesn’t harm them as they are on good salary’s.

Yet women who speak out about this lose their jobs or are to afraid to speak out

Children are damaged mutilated. 4 year old children referred to gender clinics

It will never affect these politicians. They will get good pensions when they bugger off

So easy for them to spout this shite.
They forget who will be at the bottom of these easy chanted words. Facing the realities of uneccsary drugs and surgery.

It won’t be them

Rubidium · 11/02/2020 20:49

It's on the Beeb's website now:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-51465800

littlbrowndog · 11/02/2020 20:53

Yea( just seen that. On bbc website.

Jeez labour. Heads in pan tbh

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/02/2020 21:02

^ That's me. I wasn't polled - but I voted labour in 2017, and wild horses wouldn't have convinced me to vote for them in 2019. I did not want Corbyn to be PM.

Its notable that a real change took place in Labour at around the end of 2017 - ignited by Lily Madigan's shenanigans - followed by Corbyn, Butler, & co chanting TWAW, and announcing their pronouns at the Pink Awards - these are not people I want in government.^

My feelings too.

LouHotel · 11/02/2020 21:02

This is putting the feet to the fire of everyone running for leader - let’s see who holds out.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/02/2020 21:06

Good. Angela Rayner is quite right about this as well. Bigotry has no place in the Labour party.

Winning elections has no place in the Labour Party. Women's rights have no place in the Labour Party.

RubyViolet · 11/02/2020 21:07

Keep it going !

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 11/02/2020 21:08

I hope she enjoys having a party with about 50 people in it if this is strictly enforced and applies to male party members too.

(One assumed they will have some method of seeing people's souls and filtering out those who're lying through their teeth.)

ALittleBitofVitriol · 11/02/2020 21:08

"Comrades"

cringe
Bourgeois children high on their own farts and self-importance.

Imagine writing this and thinking 'that'll shut up the wimmins, yep, right side of history over here!

ChattyLion · 11/02/2020 21:10

I’m sad and shocked that people in the Labour Party can be so unbelievably stupid, misogynist, homophobic and authoritarian as to support this fuckwittery. I just don’t recognise Labour in its current guise and as a Labour voter I am about to write to my Labour MP to say exactly that.

On the other hand, especially given these tossers have clearly thought they could frame up LGB Alliance and WPUK on grounds of thoughtcrime, I have a horrified fascination with watching how quickly and publicly this is playing out as a total, utter peakmachine.
I am particularly looking forward to this bringing LGB Alliance and WPUK and Maya’s case into household name status.. Smile

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/02/2020 21:11

It really reads like it was written by a bunch of 17 year olds in the pub, on the back of a beermat, after too many pints of cider and black

It reminds me of the batshit Action For Trans Health manifesto:

edinburghath.tumblr.com/post/163521055802/trans-health-manifesto

Ereshkigalangcleg · 11/02/2020 21:13

I agree WPUK and LGBAlliance need to take some form of legal action.

Kit19 · 11/02/2020 21:13

Are they having a competition with the Lib Dem’s to see how many female voters they can piss off?

theflushedzebra · 11/02/2020 21:15

Indeed it is LouHotel - from the beeb article:

The other Labour leadership contenders, Sir Keir Starmer, Lisa Nandy and Emily Thornberry have been contacted for a response.

Let's see which other leadership candidates support expelling all these Labour women, just because they don't believe TWAW. Let's see which ones support the expulsion of women like Karen Ingala Smith? Or Ruth Serwotka?

theflushedzebra · 11/02/2020 21:21

It really reads like it was written by a bunch of 17 year olds in the pub, on the back of a beermat, after too many pints of cider and black

Googling the names of some of the founding signatories would confirm this is not a million miles from the truth.

UpperLowercaseSymbolNumber · 11/02/2020 21:22

The Labour Party simply doesn’t learn. Even if you don’t give a shit about women’s rights have they not worked out that this sort of stuff is at the heart of the woke identity politics that plays so badly with the electorate? Dominic Cummings must be rubbing his hands with glee at all this.

I’m a member, recently rejoined but fuck it #expelme if you’re going down this road.

TalaxuArmiuna · 11/02/2020 21:23

re: point 5 I would like to query -

are all trans men also subject to misogyny and patriarchal oppression? I would say yes they are.

ThePurported · 11/02/2020 21:23

This is putting the feet to the fire of everyone running for leader - let’s see who holds out.

^
You can't just parrot slogans and hope that the mob won't turn against you. The Labour TRAs have started taking names, and saying "TWAW" will no longer get you off the hook.

What's it to be, Thornberry, Nandy and Starmer?
Are women's and LGB rights organisations 'transphobic'?

UpfieldHatesWomen · 11/02/2020 21:26

Sorry I don't have much to add, but just wanted to say how shocking I find this pledge. It reads like something from a cult, to pledge belief in the idea of feminine and masculine souls with no debate (or reference to science), that essentially women are to have no voice regarding how any new legislation affects them because that would be considered transphobic, and libelling feminist organisations. I hope WPUK sue. I just can't believe this is the state of the Labour party.

StandWithYou · 11/02/2020 21:27

Careful Ereshkigalangcleg that’s the new health policy you’re dissing.

Also with ChattyLion it’s amazing how many people are reacting to this - don’t think it’s a good move from candidates to lose party members in this way.

DeeZastris · 11/02/2020 21:29

Has the Labour Party completely forgotten that it needs to attract voters? It would be funny if it wasn’t so heartbreaking.

LouHotel · 11/02/2020 21:32

Is their a reputable source of where you can find the information on how much female support labour need to win?

For instance in the states the dems need something like 90% of the black vote to be in contention, we must be a significant voting block for them.

Thingybob · 11/02/2020 21:34

Has this link been posted explaining the thinking behind the petition?

tribunemag.co.uk/2020/02/the-labour-campaign-for-trans-rights

I don't want to be unkind to Torr but how can anyone take this person seriously?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 11/02/2020 21:39

Has the Labour Party completely forgotten that it needs to attract voters?

Being serious for a moment, do the kind of people who push policies like this even care about winning elections? I suppose it's possible that they're so isolated in their bubble that they genuinely don't realize that most of the country doesn't really believe TWAW in terms of post operative transsexuals, much less that anyone who identifies as a women on alternate Tuesdays is, but I think it's more likely that they don't give a single solitary fuck what most voters think and whether they win elections or not, they just want to be the more righteous force in all the land.

So, yeah, teenagers, or at least identifying as such well into adulthood.

VortexofBloggery · 11/02/2020 21:39

I'll throw in a prediction, louhotel, they'll all sign up to it. By morning.
