Good heavens! Shock The level of violence is so shocking!

Report

The violent stampers look male to me.

Hmmmm.

These are not biological women.

deydododatdodontdeydo · 26/06/2018 12:32

Are they definitely "women"?

Report
LunaTrap · 26/06/2018 12:32

Women my arse.

Report
Jorah · 26/06/2018 12:33

why would the report even say that they were women? Because they have long hair and mini skirts?

Report
Branleuse · 26/06/2018 12:34

Is Madam JoJo's still open? If it is they look like they are on the way there. I used to work next to that place and would often get on/off Leicester Square tube with drag queens and cross-dressers.

Those broad shoulders?
Most oppressed group on the planet?

No. And no.

The thing that worries me most about self-ID is the effect it might have on crime statistics, masking male violence so we are unable to name it, talk about it, and stop it.

Report
sundaynamechange1 · 26/06/2018 12:36

I wonder what the crime statistics will go down as if they get charged ?

Huh, funny how I've never seen a group of women on a night out beat the living shit out of a man like that. I wonder what could possibly account for this unexpected event.

I found that intimidating just watching it. It was vicious.

Those are trans people, not women. And yes I'm very concerned too that male crimes are being masked in how they are reported.

Report
Jorah · 26/06/2018 12:38

If this was being written about ten years ago those people would not have been called women.

Report
MsBeaujangles · 26/06/2018 12:38

Whatever the natal sex of the attackers, this clip highlights the need for a system of categorising people by natal sex so nobody is in any doubt about a person's sex when they are committing violent acts. IF the attackers are male, this seems to be being reported and possibly recorded as a violent attack by women.
I fully accept that some people do not want to be defined by or referred to according to their natal sex. I have no problem with not highlighting people's sex or alluding to it in contexts were sex-based patterns of behaviour and / or sexed bodies are not significant.

Dragoncake · 26/06/2018 12:39

Jorah, I agree. There is no reason for the reporter to assume that a male person wearing a dress wishes to be a woman.

exactly

I think the reporter is complicit in this

Report
poopsqueak · 26/06/2018 12:40

That is shocking. Completely shocking. I was watching thinking 'only men usually fight like that' and then 'oh....right'

I sincerely hope this doesn't go down as women on men violence.

Side note - I suspect that the video was included not just for more clicks but in order to make clear what the site's guidelines don't allow it to actually tell its readers using words.

Definitely not female. The comments are interesting.

Report
Jorah · 26/06/2018 12:42

You could have reported that story quite well without using any sex descriptors at all.

A gang beat up a person

I expect the reporter knew exactly what he/she was doing Hmm

That is horrifying. WHY the insistence in the article that the attackers are women ? WOMEN. They didn’t even bother with the prefix of trans. Surely they are drag queens anyway ? This is the issue with single sex space. Imagine the reaction from them if you looked at them askance in the Ladies.
